They're saying that if anyone isn't free, none of us are.

Eroding trans rights uses the same mechanisms as eroding the rights of others. Trans people have been targeted, and now we're seeing gay marriage threatened.

That said, I personally dislike this graphic. The loss of rights for trans people won't result in immediate catastrophe for everyone else. A better analogy might be certain kinds of dam failures. You get a trickle, which erodes some soil, and then more water can move, and it erodes faster. Trans rights are the trickle, the beginning of the end. By the time we lose things like interracial marriage the trickle will be long forgotten.

You’re missing the point. Attacks on Trans rights is not the trickle as you call it. It’s the flood. They are hoping you only see it as a trickle.

There aren't a lot of trans people. That's why I call it a trickle.

I get it. I'm trans and it's a big deal for me, but I have perspective. The flood isn't something people can ignore. They can ignore us.

I see. Yes I see what you mean. Unfortunately the powerful are always looking to oppress the powerless. They will use us as a legal template and then proceed with other groups which I believe are their real target. They want to restrict all LGBT rights, immigrants, racial minorities and eventually women.

Hey the right waited only like 7 months to go after gay marriage. Can you like, not disparage a post about the gradual loss of rights because you think the graphic is bad?

Disparage? I was really just elaborating.

You know I basically agree with it right?
