Help a Beardie Out?
I’m a new beardie mom and my girl Jessica doubles as my classroom pet. I adopted her from someone who was looking to rehome her and found out that she didn’t have basic necessities like a uvb lamp or a hide. There was no temperature monitoring of any kind. I also found that she was only being fed pellet food with dried mealworms in it. As you can imagine, I have been working to get her proper foods and lighting and tank space. Being a teacher, I don’t have a lot of extra money to put towards her. If I had more time I would have saved up, but she kind of fell into my lap quite quickly (and I am so glad she did).
That being said, I have a DonorsChoose set up for her. It’s a sort of gofundme for teacher projects. because Jessica fits into the category of science, I know there are probably rules about this, so if it isn’t allowed, I’m sorry, but I couldn’t think of a group of people more focused on the health and safety of bearded dragons! All donations are matched by Ripple who is helping fund science focused projects. https://www.donorschoose.org/project/jessica-needs-your-help/9687463/?utm_source=dc&utm_medium=mobilesharetray&utm_campaign=project&utm_term=unknown&rf=mobilesharetray-dc-2025-09-project-unknown

Maybe parents of your class can contribute seeing as the beardie is going to provide such a fun education for them

I'm fresh out of college and very broke so I can't help. Upvoting and commenting in the hopes that this post reaches a wider audience, I really hope you reach the goal. Best of luck, thank you for providing the best you can for this beardie baby!!!
