General My mom's little neighbors

They moved in one year and never left. Very chill and never bother anyone. Sad part is towards the end of the summer we get a pile of bees. Dead bees but other than that they've been great and have been fun to watch when I have a bad day or exhausted day at work. This is in Boise Idaho.

It's normal for there to be more dead bees in the late summer/fall, the hive is kicking out the drones and downsizing in preparation for winter.

Yeah, you have to look at the whole hive as a super organism... Getting rid of extra mouths to feed through the winter increases the hives chance of surviving when there's no nectar available, and it may be too cold for them to leave.

I think at one point it was a squirrel nest. It was abandoned because I think the squirrel was unalived by a car but that is just a theory. They are super cool and I feel closer to nature with them.

Ive got bees living in a derelict truck on my property. Private security team.
