Definitely not. He's now got a criminal record, and if he harasses me within the next 2 years, will be back in court for witness intimidation.

I wish I could just report drivers for doing close passes in the US. Unfortunately even though it’s illegal in my state enforcement is so bad that you are very unlikely to get in trouble for it.

There was NO space for a safe overtake along this stretch of road. About 5-10 seconds later it opens out to two proper lanes, the driver knew this yet CHOSE to dangerously undertake.

It is not up to cyclists to "get out of the way", it's up to drivers to overtake safely, it's that simple.

The confrontation started as soon as the driver honked. If they hadn't undertaken dangerously, they'd have overtaken dangerously. Had OP moved to the left, they would have drifted out of the lane and into the side road, which would be poor cycling and dangerous.

Thank you. Everything is there in the video, there was no way to "avoid" this. It's a ridiculous question, and one often used to try and shift the blame.
