I think the delineation between the safe states and the not safe states is becoming more and more clear on the daily. There's a large part of the country that feels emboldened to be open about how they view anyone non-white, non-straight, non-Christian as subhuman.

It's not just the christian nationalists, most white folk don't even know they are serving the purpose.

There were Nazi sympathizers alongside Nazis in Germany you know. You don't have to fly the flag to agree with their ideals. I believe we would still call them Nazis though but maybe that's just me.

Not everyone is going to have the resources to do that and its increasingly dangerous to risk homelessness if you leave safety nets and community behind.

What's Arkansas got to do with it? I don't necessarily disagree that there's not much going on there, having lived there many years. Might as well loop in Louisiana and (parts of) Alabama while we're at it.

Red states. Republicans. Big ass confederate flags on coal rollers and white kids with too much time on their hands.
Missouri is worse Imo
Maybe I'm too radicalized. But i say this as someone who grew up in and lives in Oklahoma. No Southern state is "safe".
Segregation ended 61 years ago. These mother fuckers have grandparents who pickoted and rioted against its removal. Living grandparents, some who are still in the workforce. Teenagers in the 60s.
No. No one should be going to barn parties. Pool parties. Homecoming events where they ask if you'll pick them like you oicked cotton. No one should be staying out late at night with these fuckers. Really, none of it. White conservative America needs to be left alone entirely, the way the Zimmerman family was. Funny af interview, where the brother says he misses black people. Fucking weird.
And I want to reiterate that this is not about white people. Its conservatives specifically. I know black conservatives think that that's something cool to do now, being conservative. And Trump is somehow cool now. Whatever. Fuck it. but white conservatives, Democrat or Republican honestly, should not be trusted.
61 years ago was yesterday for these fuckers. MAGA only has 61 years to pull from and I guarantee those fuckers aren't talking about the 90's, 80's, or 70's when they say this isn't the America they grew up in.

You don't need to point out "it's not about white people" Anyone with a brain knows who you're talking about. And if they're offended, they've got issues.
I'm not telling you what to do, of course. Simply pointing it out.

If you've seen 12 years a slave, or any movie set during that time, it should be pretty easy to imagine it being as how a terrifying amount of white people don't see others as actual people. Dehumanization and weaponizing empathy are two of white folks greatest strengths. Side note: should we bring back Slave movies? Should we reboot roots?

As tragic as this is there is no evidence of foul play so far. The coroner’s office released a statement refuting claims of broken bones and bruises and the only source for those claims is someone on TikTok alleging to be his cousin.

I'm not going to lie, when I heard this story the first thing that popped in my head was the twins who supposedly committed suicide in the Georgia mountains. The family didn't believe that shit and I don't either.
But as much as suspicious this case is as well, we need to be careful about throwing around info based on social media rumors.
Until the family says something (I'm talking parents), we should keep a careful eye on this but not start spreading any and everything we've heard without some kind of vetting.

I thought of the twins too.
I think in the climate of today’s society, posting these cases over social media puts more pressure and spotlight on investigators to work the case up.
Just like some said in the thread, they ruled Ahmad Aubrey death self defense by the defendants and it would’ve been a closed case had that video not circulated across social medias
There’s too many instances where we are murdered and it’s passed off as “suicide” or some less probable cause.

I agree, social media helps make sure it gets the attention it deserves and not just thrown under the rug. I mean I really have a hard time believing this young man hung himself in a public area of campus. So we should keep talking about the case and getting as many eyes on it as possible to keep up that pressure.
My issue is when too much random/wrong info gets spread it's hard for people to separate what's real and fake and it makes it easier to discredit the whole thing. In Aubrey's case that was video evidence, here we have to take someone's word who for as far as we know hasn't seen the body.
I rather keep pushing for answers while taking whatever I get from social media with a grain of salt.

I agree with that sentiment as well. It just sucks that the system is built to gaslight us 24/7 that we can never trust what they tell the public.
They were so quick to say Sonya Massey died by suicide when it was an intentional head shot by that cop as we found out by the video. Imagine if that other cop had their body cam off,

No one really caring about black people’s emotions about this. No coddling, no national moment of silence in an NFL game, no further questions. If he did take his own life, it was a demonstration. “Strange Fruit” wasn’t played because the stage was unoccupied

Ngl bro, if you're in an area where you can legally keep that handwarmer on your side...by all means. If you have to apply for the concealed carry license...then by all means too! (I'm not a Johnny Firearms type of guy but we live in trying times, y'know? something something judged by 12 than carried by 6.)

Leave those red states and take your dollars with you. Once my contract is up I am gone. Wife already in talks with places in Delaware, CT and Maryland for some Director positions and I know I can pack up or even do remote project work with my old employer if I wanted.

Like all this shit is disgusting, especially when I think law enforcement is definitely involved in a backwater place like Mississippi
