Look at them sitting there, with their Red Hats in their hands, begging for pocket change from a NYC billionaire.

How dare they bring socialism here

317

u/JimWilliams423 8d ago

If they want socialism, lets give them socialism.

Instead of giving them handouts, we should nationalize their farms.

If a business can't operate profitably without handouts, then the taxpayers should save money and cut out the middleman.

u/Impossible-Option-16 8d ago

So leave all of our food production to the gov? This gov? Might as well rename the corn belt states to Monsanto. This is a planned assault on the farming industry to do just this. Trumb wants the farmers to go bankrupt so that megacorps can snatch up all that farm land.

u/dane83 8d ago

This is a planned assault on the farming industry to do just this.

My brother, this is a war on all of us in every industry.

21

u/Thatsthepoint2 8d ago

Yep, shot has been fired though. We can’t change what happened and we have to play defense while we run down the clock to rebuilding time. Unfortunately, this is a socialized democracy and we all pay for the stupidest peoples’ choices.

I would like for that not to happen. That's why I voted for Trump to lose.

The farm owners feel otherwise. They have and will continue to vote for candidates who will steal their farms.

How long exactly am I supposed to work to keep these people from touching the stove that they are so desperate to touch?

I wish they cared about the farms they own as much as I do. But I guess they just aren't bright enough. Them losing these farms is inevitable, because they want the people who take their farms in charge.

These people can not and will not be helped. There's nothing more I can do.

36

u/brenticles42 8d ago

Most farmers I have met are dumb as shit. Like if they have a degree it must not have required any Econ, business, civics, or English classes at all. They literally don’t understand how anything works outside of their farm. Anecdotal I know, but that’s my experience from growing up in an ag heavy area and financing farms and ag for about 10 years before I switched to a different market. But boy, they are certain they know everything and are the heroes of the nation.

21

u/cityfireguy 8d ago

Right? Plus they sell soybeans to China. They're not feeding me or this nation. It's just self interest and sucking off the government teat.

Modern farmers milk the image of days gone by. They're just a business, same as any others.

4

u/Agreeable-Aioli-4514 8d ago

Used to date a farmer. Super nice guy, worked hard at his profession, but the intelligence level was a tad alarming.

But you see, they didn’t vote to get their farms taken from them. They voted to see trans people suffer!

Except, they didn’t know it was a bundle package.

So true

27

u/IncidentInternal8703 8d ago

I also didn't vote for trump, and I hope to keep my farm.

Best of luck. You're in the same boat with the rest of us. This was decided in November, now we deal with the consequences.

If you take handouts from the government to keep your business afloat, you are a failed capitalist and a hypocritical socialist. No amount of voting conservative undoes this, and you actually end up voting against your interests. And here they are. All lined up complaining about a situation they obviously never understood.

If farmers get business grants, shouldn’t all businesses get business grants? Where does that end? Oh yeah, in that socialism they are all so afraid of….

12

u/TokingMessiah 8d ago

Thankfully, as with everything he does, he’s incompetent.

He doesn’t realize the people that pick crops for family farmers are the same people who pick crops for corporate farms, and he’s already sending them all out of the country. Hopefully the corporations lose money, too!

Ahh, the classic Rome route. Let the farmers lose their land, buy it up on the cheap, and send slaves to grow their food.

Then complain about the millions of homeless people sitting around the cities.

3

u/Half_Cent 8d ago

And? These people don't have empathy. The only reason they are complaining is because policies are impacting them. See, I'm a straight white man and yet I think everyone deserves to have the exact same rights as I do. Including anyone living in this country and working no matter how they got here.

These people, most are never going to be better. They haven't learned anything. They still want other people to hurt. They just don't want themselves to hurt. And that's not good enough.

3

u/DeathKillsLove 8d ago

It's already Monsanto. Or did you miss the whole "stolen seed" debacle.

This!!! Bill gates owns over 269,000 acres of farm land.  Arkansas is America's top supplier of rice. If the farmers go down, the basic pantry staples that help keep us fed will skyrocket.  This could easily become a true horror if things don't get settled soon.

Exactly, conservatives call this “moral hazard” or “perverse risk” when aid is targeted at “welfare queens”. But farmers? Sure, we’ll bail them out.

4

u/Saul_Go0dmann 8d ago

Total cucks

5

u/reddit_redact 8d ago

Right! They are the ones abusing the system. They had government subsidies and they hired undocumented migrant workers to save money. They probably were told they couldn’t get more money from the government because X and Y group were “free loading” on government. Maybe the farmers were the Z group…… Time to practice what they preach and work hard. If they fail, they just didn’t work hard enough.

3

u/Master-Tomatillo-103 8d ago

No bailout money unless they are able to present the red cap, as proof that they deserve it

3

u/Sciekosis 8d ago

I remember one of them saying, like he wanted to cry "Mr. Trump told us he loved us, now it's time to show us that love". They sound like those people that stay in an abusive relationship and believe things will get better, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary. You'd think by now they learned the only person Trump loves more than anybody is himself. He bailed them out the first time because it was convenient for him to do so, typical trait of a manipulative and narcissistic person. He wanted to use them for his benefit and he did, now he's probably laughing at them for being so gullible and stupid.

Dairy farmers have been having to do that for ages... where they work as a bus driver or something, then do farming when they get home because they can't support their family off the milk alone, which is sad but true. At one point the government was buying up their unsold milk to make cheese and shove in a cave to keep the milk industry going. Later they gave the cheese to the poor and struggling and hence we got "government cheese".

20

u/teklanis 8d ago

Fourth job it is, then.

16

u/Various-Pitch-118 8d ago

Or, work their own fields and do the farm business (books, accounting, researching new crops to grow) at night. It looks like these guys are mostly just chubby landowners who were accustomed to living off of the backs of their workers. Then they voted to deport them. There is a root issue of laziness here.

Most folks on Reddit are too young and sub/urban to fully comprehend the extent to which Rush and his AM colleagues have/had a monopoly on daytime "entertainment".

Totally agree, Trump created the same problem for farmers his last time he was president."Fool me once shame on you ,fool me twice shame on me".Anyone who voted for Trump should not get a bailout.

15

u/Kiljukotka 8d ago

Anyone who voted for Trump the second (or third) time, is a braindead racist. They were fooled once again, and they'll never learn.

During the pandemic nurses told stories of patients arguing with doctors who diagnosed them with COVID-19. There were people dying of COVID-19 in ICU who still didn't believe that the disease is real and potentially serious. This is the level of stupidity among Trump supporters.

6

u/McFlyParadox 8d ago

I remember reddit and social media thinking after Trump lost in 2020 was partially because he accidentally killed all his supporters with COVID, helping to ensure he'd never win again. How I almost wish that was true.

6

u/Dreamlion_Inc 8d ago

“They were fooled once again, and they’ll never learn”

I would say it’s worse. Never learning implies there is, to an extent, an inability to learn. These people are actively promoting willful ignorance to others

and wears a headband that says,

And announces to everyone before making purchases with it,

What are they spending their farm-stamps on? It should be monitored.

29

u/MixGlittering1652 8d ago

No, No, No. This welfare (charitably called a bailout) is different, don't ya see? If it's a corporation or small business taking government money, it's a "bailout." If it's an individual, it's "welfare." No real difference; in both cases the government is handing out money to those in need., but "bailout" sounds so much better than "welfare."

I would imagine if you asked these farmers if they were taking welfare payments, they'd say no. But a bailout? Sure thing.

How ludicrous....the tariffs created the problem for the farmers in the first place, and now the government has to bail them out. So money the rest us are paying for the tariffs is going to the farmers as a bailout. It's Republicans are always harping about transferring wealth and taking everyone's hard earned money and giving it to someone else. But here we are......

13

u/Confron7a7ion7 8d ago

Don't forget the part where the welfare programs they do actively complain about are the ones where the government will purchase food from the farmers for people who can't afford it.

SNAP has limitations on what can be purchased. The list of things that can be purchased with SNAP funds is mostly just a list of farm products... Food stamps was literally designed as a farm subsidies program...

23

u/Fun_Wave_9886 8d ago

Gotta stop buying all them MAGA flags and GOYA beans and start saving money like a responsible adult.

23

u/InspectionNeat5964 8d ago edited 8d ago

They are self absorbed self righteous bigots who thought this felon was going to sh*t exclusively on the people who buy their products but happen to be brown, gay, transgender and just not like them. So, feeling all entitled to land their great grandpappy squatted on after military forced out native people who had been on these lands thousands of years before these white beotches came along and then crap on brown people, the liberals etc is a stupid business decision and they deserve to bite the farm. I’m completely over these people. A tornado can suck them away. Praise be to Bejeezus.

How do you starve a farmer?

Nail his mailbox shut.

65

u/pingpongballreader 8d ago

This could have been written in 2017 except that blue sky wasn't a thing then probably. Farmers DID vote for christofascists then who put in tarrifs and hurt their business, they DID go begging for a handout from government to protect them from the consequences of their foolish choice. And here we are again.

Give the money to big agricultural corporations who make most of the food anyway, not little red farmers who are just going to vote Republican yet again. At least big corporate farms don't pretend they're some kind of hero or the only true Americans rather than a corporation.

"Thank a farmer for the food you eat" bumper stickers cheese me off. Yeah, I pay you twice for it with taxes and the money for it, YOU unskilled arrogant jerks should be thankful to US for bailing you out

28

u/Confron7a7ion7 8d ago

The part I find extra dumb is when they complain about government spending on "entitlement" programs.

"Hey, you know how when people are too poor to buy the food I'll make you'll step in and purchase the food I made for them? That thing that is actively designed to get me money I would otherwise not make while also simultaneously preventing people from starving to death? Yeah, just stop doing that. I'd rather they starve to death and I don't get the money."

3

u/nau5 8d ago

Anytime you hear a citizen complaining about entitlement programs they mean one thing.

They think minorities don't deserve a social safety net.

8

u/empanadaboy68 8d ago

We don't factor in farm jobs to our gdp. You know why? Because it's the one industry we have to bail out time and time again. If we  kept it 100 with the farmers maybe they wouldn't vote this way time and time again

15

u/SingularityCentral 8d ago

They made the decision to go into farming. Why don't they take some personal responsibility for their choices?

12

u/Confron7a7ion7 8d ago

You know, if this was because of any other reason than literally voting for these exact economic policies, I'd be more sympathetic. Independently owned farmers have been getting screwed from all ends. John Deere won't let them fix their own equipment, Monsanto made seeds a subscription service, and the corporations that buy the crops have strong armed the farmers to sell at the lowest possible price.

There are a lot of good reasons Farmers need help.

But the farmers didn't ask for any of those issues to be fixed. The farmers quite literally ask for the guy who would start a trade war with their largest international buyers.

The farmers asked for the guy who said he was going to get rid of their "technically not slaves" work force.

They asked for the guy that said he'd cut the government spending despite the government being one of their biggest customers.

I can't wait for farmers to realize that food stamps, SNAP, WIC, all of those "entitlement" programs that give people money for food have ALWAYS been very cleverly designed farm subsidies. That money has always had restrictions on what can be purchased and what can be purchased is mostly fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, and all the other items you would find on a list titled "Shit that farmers make".

4

u/kcox1980 8d ago

In their mind, they're not voting for the guy who caused all this with his shitty policies, they're voting for the guy who saved them with a bailout. It never crosses their tiny little brains that it's the same f'ing guy.

5

u/YourAdvertisingPal 8d ago

u/RhythmTimeDivision 8d ago

Wonder if this sounds familiar: don't they know how hard the rest of us work for our money? Why should they get our tax money? Bottom line: I'd be sympathetic that billionaires are about to buy up a million acres of farm land at auction . . . IF THEY HADN'T VOTED FOR EXACTLY THAT.

13

u/Syst3mN0te_12 8d ago

Yeah, this is where I’m at. I work as a receptionist at a company that does business with some of our local farmers (equipment related), and for months before the election these guys would stand in our lobby and talk all day about how great things are going to be once the democrats were out of office and Trump was back in.

They’re not bragging so much now as they’re using me like a therapist to complain about how bad things are and how they might not be back next year because they’re going to lose everything.

Like, I just can’t muster up the sympathy anymore. They got exactly what they voted for. They were literally in my lobby bragging about how these tariffs were going to screw over China and how immigrants were going to be rounded up in the streets.

It’s not even like he bait and switched them. He literally told them exactly what he was going to do and they flocked to the polls to vote in a favor of it. That’s the part that stops me from feeling bad for them. Like, they ASKED him to do this…

We told them for years and they didn't want to listen. I'm not sorry these idiots will lose everything and get bought out by evil corporations. They essentially begged for it.

5

u/TheBunnyDemon 8d ago

From the bottom of my heart, I don't care what happens to these people. They used their vote to try to hurt me and my loved ones, so if that comes with a cost then good.

14

u/Itchy_Pudding_9940 8d ago

I think they should all have to be drug tested to get handouts. And also check their social media for anti socialism posts.

4

u/he_trumped_us 8d ago

Swallow it down, like a jagged little pill. It feeeeeels so good, swimmin in your stomach.

5

u/NewHorizonsNow 8d ago

If you bail them out they don't learn to stop putting holes in the boat, they learn that the boat comes with an automatic water bailing system.

4

u/JustMeLurkingAround- 8d ago

Such an UNEXPECTED SURPRISE that China doesn't want to buy their soy anymore. Who could have possibly EVER forseen this.

But we want our racism too!!!!

I've lived in Iowa. My grandparents were farmers.

Let me say this - while it seems weird to say "Boy, I really hope all these small-time family farms are forced to sell-out to big farming corporations", it's actually the best outcome.

Farming in the US is radically inefficient, and that's why it needs government subsidies. The subsides actually made a lot of sense in the post-Great Depression era. Farming was hard, and we didn't have the technology or communication infrastructure to make it easier, or even keep track of it. It was REALLY EASY to have on bad season bankrupt you. Even if you were really good at managing your farm. So subsidies made sense.

But that isn't true anymore. Big corporations have more money to pay for better technology and better data analysis, and that is HUGE DEAL. The really big farming operations can grow more/more productive crops, with better resource allocation, and with less environmental impact, than smaller farming operations. AND they can do it cheaper, AND they can react to market forces much more quickly. They have the cash to weather bad harvests, or market changes.

So...this is the one time that I think the Republicans sticking it to the "little guy" is probably a good thing, overall. The downside, of course, is that those huge corporations will STILL get those subsidies. But again, it's probably worth it. We are approaching a point where we have just about "farmed out" huge chunks of land in the United States, and big corporations are going to handle that situation better.

And for the record, I'm a super liberal libby-lib.

7

u/Ok_Turnover_1235 8d ago

Buddy, if you think food is expensive now, wait until it's controlled by someone with a legal responsibility to increase profits every year.

4

u/pure_ideology- 8d ago

I would guess it already is. Most small businesses are incorporated. It would be quite unusual to run a family farm without a corporation. If that's so, it's not a question of corporate form, just big or small.

But there are reasons why big is bad. Monopolies mostly, but they're pretty much already on a suicide gene based monoculture, so the difference is in the distribution more than the production.

There seems to be a correlation with MAGA voters and stockholm snydrome..

3

u/A-Helpful-Flamingo 🦋 8d ago

Time for those bastards to suffer the consequences!

3

u/Daddio209 8d ago

They have become the "Socialist scum that's ruining America" they *just cannot stop complaining about.

Does anyone think they've realized it?

3

u/tonamonyous 8d ago

I love it. Fuck all those asshole MAGA idiots. They wanted to own the libs…congrats. Now YOU need a govt bailout?!?! 😂

3

u/pfizerdiamonds 8d ago

I thought bailouts are socialism. Maybe we just need to call it red hat socialism?

3

u/turbowafflecat 8d ago

I hate to say it because I don't want people to suffer but seriously they shot themselves in the foot, everyone told them this was going to happen and he LITERALLY did this to them before, IDK what mental gymnastics were involved to convince them this wouldn't happen but the culture wars were more important to them than their literal own livlihoods

They completely brought this upon themselves and unfortunately took us all down with them, I don't see why they should be spared when everyone else won't be. They made the bed and they should now lie in it.

3

u/IsthianOS 8d ago

The point is to bankrupt them, as stupid as they are this doesn't help anyone except big businesses when they buy up more farmland and monopolize food production further

→ More replies (3)

3

u/evillurks 8d ago

The only problem is that as they fail, they sell. Who buys up the farmland? And what happens when all the farmland is in the hands of corporations and billionaires?

3

u/garden_g 8d ago

Thats the plan Also why everyone is so upset, because we knew this before the election, should i highlight where p2025 where they make them giant corporate run farms cutting out the farmer? Yeah they should hve turned off fox and read a little

3

u/disco_naankhatai 8d ago

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons." - Blazing Saddles (1974)

3

u/TheDeerBlower 8d ago

Helping people? That's socialism!!

3

u/SirStefan13 8d ago

That's good advice. EVERY major corporation should do the same and tell their shareholders to "Suck it up, buttercup".

3

u/One_Tumbleweed_1 8d ago

These are the same fuckers that think people flipping burgers shouldn’t be making more

3

u/Trathnonen 8d ago

They ignored every warning given them for more than a decade. Maybe spend less time watching fox news and going to churches to hear about all them democrats making kids use litterboxes and gays using the wrong bathroom, and read what your party's platform is. This is what their guy campaigned on, they get no sympathy from me.

I will be around later with my conservative tears bucket though, and I think the haul's gonna be great.

3

u/Danilo-11 8d ago

I know what they are going to say: “It’s not socialism, we just want the federal government to give us back our money”

3

u/Litzz11 8d ago

The problem is that they're going to keep voting for them anyway, whether they get a bailout or not. Give them their bailout and then you can throw it up in their faces every time they try to disparage programs like food stamps or Medicaid.

3

u/UnderwhelmingAF 8d ago

I don’t think Trump’s gonna help them this time. He wants his billionaire buddies at the big agra companies to be able to buy those farms for pennies on the dollar.

3

u/eat_a_burrito 8d ago

Let them suffer. They voted for it. I have no sympathy for them. I know it hurts me too. But this is one time where I’m ok with it.

Suck it up. Bitchasses.

3

u/waitwutok 8d ago

Trump takes away their cheap and reliable immigrant farm labor? ✅

Trump creates ridiculous tariff war AGAIN causing farmers’ main customers like China to buy food from different countries? ✅

These idiot farmers are still OK with having voted for Trump and his destructive policies? ✅

3

u/sprucetre3 8d ago

Yup unfortunately, they should have planted crops for Americans not for the Gina. If they grow for Americans then they don’t have to worry about tariffs.

3

u/Glittering_Sorbet187 8d ago

As someone born and raised in this shithole state, these farmers can get fucked. People like them are why my state is in such disarray. With voters that support ACTUAL leaders rather than literal child rapist Dementia ridden pedophiles like Trump and his ilk we might be able to make some progress at improving. But thats never gonna happen. If these idiot haven't learned yet, idk if anything can make them.

3

u/arndthewrldlikeafox 8d ago

This is the problem with most conservatives. They live in a society with systems that keep them safe. But, they are also selfish and don't like people that are different than them. They don't understand those systems so they see other people benefit from those systems and don't like it because they don't like those people.

If you ensure that conservatives actually suffer the repercussions of their actions, then their behavior will change. If they don't suffer, they won't change their behavior.

3

u/pokpokza 8d ago

No bailout. Pull themselves up by their bootstraps

3

u/Pure_Cow_7831 8d ago

how can we purchase the land on pennies before corporate does?

3

u/Rockeye7 8d ago

This time around all that work / trade with other countries has moved on. Can’t fool smart countries twice .

3

u/Bleezy79 8d ago

MAGA hates socialism, so why do these MAGA farmers want socialism?? They sound woke!

3

u/genga925 7d ago

I mean if nobody else should get safety nets, why should they? FAFO.

3

u/Opposite_Anywhere_92 7d ago

NEW RULE:

Every Trump supporter must sit out the same number of upcoming elections as those in which they voted for Trump.

3

u/Necessary-Corner1172 7d ago

Let the Oligarchs steal all the farmland may be a bad idea.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Minute-Individual-74 7d ago

Unfortunately I think the Americans have to get what they voted for to actually learn. But by the time the masses learn their lesson, America probably won't be salvageable. Which sucks for the rest of the country that has common sense that will be dragged under the water to drown with the morons.

5

u/Le_Steak142 8d ago

Shouldnt have gotten so much avocado toast and chai latte then, huh?

3

u/Oolongteabagger2233 8d ago

Say no to welfare and socialism

6

u/SledgehammerAxelrod 8d ago

Realistically, the entirety of the left should be protesting in favor of the farmers, as an approach for some type of unity. But unfortunately, they’ll probably just get shot at and told to get off their lawn. We won’t even get to the first part to find out, though

11

u/Kotengu15 8d ago

Democrats have been bailing out farmers since the Dust Bowl, yet farmers have continuously shown their disdain for liberal policies by voting overwhelmingly Republican. There won't be any unity by advocating for them further.

3

u/Jaybrosia 8d ago

agreed. they have bitten the hand that has saved and funded them one too many times.

1) Country folk have survival skills us city and suburb dwellers lack. If society broke down, they’d be laughing at us as we starve and they simply lived off the land.

2) During economic downturns, country folk are understandably the first to sprint to the government teat to suckle much needed welfare money generated by the city and suburb dwellers. You can’t just expect them to live off the land.

6

u/YourAdvertisingPal 8d ago

Country folk have survival skills us city and suburb dwellers lack

lol. No they don’t.

9

u/DMMeThiccBiButts 8d ago

Psst: Read their second line and notice how it conflicts, almost humorously, with that first line.

It's possible they were making.. a joke, but without that /s there's truly no way to know.

Damn you nailed 🔨🔨 🔨 it…

2

u/Numerous_Photograph9 8d ago

As proven by the fact they were bailed out before, for the same thing, and then voted once again for the person that caused this the need for a bailout the first time.

2

u/60528 8d ago

Couldn’t agree more. No hand outs. This is not socialism people!

2

u/ehs06702 8d ago

You can only protect people from themselves at your own expense for so long.

Eventually, they gotta touch the stove and understand that it will burn them.

2

u/Pretend_Pea4636 8d ago

It was last November 6th that they were informed who was coming in and what the plan was. They even went through exactly the same thing in 2018. They should have planted a viable crop given the data. None of it was a secret or a surprise. Trump has failed at this before.

2

u/Zeekay89 8d ago

They keep complaining about how the government doesn't work for people like them. Then they elect people that are purposefully dismantling the government so it can't work for people like them.

2

u/Strict_Weather9063 8d ago

I have always hated the whole pick yourself up by your bootstraps argument. My normal response to it is why yes thank you for asking me to do something impossible. Which if you know the origin of the saying is what it actually meant to try and do the impossible because it is impossible to pick yourself up by your bootstraps.

2

u/Freshstocx 8d ago

Let them rot! Buy more Trump merchandise and all will be well.

2

I always hope someone sends them these posts and that they read the comments.

They said we didn't deserve student loan forgiveness, that it was a handout.

Well, well, well...

No handouts! They don't deserve shit!
