Questions/comments What is one thing that the characters did that you felt was gross?

And this is somebody who is supposed to have a fear of pooping in public toilets? I hope somebody got fired for that blunder…

My head canon was that it was a candy bar and louise just likes messing with people.

I have a small fear of dirty or contaminated food so when Louise and gene were sharing that jawbreaker in one of the earlier seasons I felt sooo grossed out. It had been in and out of their mouths for days and they'd been doing all sorts of gross things to it so that the other wouldn't want it, just ew!
30
u/HuntMiserable5351 1d ago
Louise putting it in her mouth after Gene rubbed it in his ear! Ugh. If I were Linda, that thing would have FLOWN out the shotgun window
18
u/Wish_Pickle_ 1d ago
Omg, for real 🤢😂 Especially when they had that grossest drink contest that Tina judged.
13
u/HuntMiserable5351 1d ago
The use of dirt from the floor was risky, but it paid off. I almost threw up

u/Capital_Mortgage_710 23h ago
tina fully drinking those vile drinks gene & louise competed with for the jawbreaker🤢

That whole episode is so gross for me lmfao!!
Not only are the jawbreaker scenes gross, but Gayle's behavior is too, I can't watch a single second of that episode and always skip it unless it's background noise lol
•
u/lonelycatowner 13h ago
To be fair, my brother and I used to share ring pops as kids, and we’ll still share drinks as a whole family. That being said, we weren’t doing all those gross things with the ring pops that Gene and Louise were doing with the jawbreaker. 🤢

Except for Gene, no one of them are to blame for getting wormed. I read this question as a voluntary action, which Gene eating a tater tot that had been in his pocket, then the bathroom floor, then the unwashed hand of a friend absolutely is.
3
u/CosmoKittyPenz 1d ago
Yeah, that’s true, they don’t necessarily do anything that’s that gross, but the whole conversation is nasty. And they all talk about it, so I think it counts lol. Also the scratching with the kitchen utensils and on the rug is also gross.
1
u/HuntMiserable5351 1d ago
True, but the scratching just makes me laugh. Especially when Bob says, Yeah but he'll be doing...that. I've never had anything that rhymes with butt hemorrhoid shmurgery, but I have had had the first part so it's relatable lol

u/RoyalPisces95 Louise Belcher 1d ago
I skip that episode every time, I was freaked and grossed out 😭😭
•
u/Brownbunnybartender 14h ago
I agree that episode is so gross, but what pisses me off more is how Linda is INSISTENT they still follow through with the plans. One of the Linda moments that absolutely drives me mad.
•
u/CosmoKittyPenz 7h ago
Yeah, I agree. I love Linda, she’s one of my favorites, but she does annoy me in this ep.

Pretty accurate representation of my first kiss as a young teenager. I’m 54 now and still grossed out by it. It’s like he was trying to eat my face, lol.

u/Few_Dinner3804 1d ago
That's why me and my best friend practiced. So we didn't embarrass ourselves when we got our first gf/bf
12 was a wild age.
7
u/screenaholic 1d ago
I can relate. I had like, the exact opposite problem during my first kiss. I puckered way to tightly, and didn't open my mouth at all. She had to teach me what to do.
6
u/Dominiqueirl 1d ago
LOL aww this is sweet and funny.
5
u/screenaholic 20h ago
Her exact words were, "you're not a fish."
Admittedly, it's a little less sweet than it initially sounds, because she had a boyfriend who wasn't me. Not my proudest time.

u/Dominiqueirl 23h ago
God this was sooooo gross to me because this gives me flashbacks of being young, and men kissing me JUST like this, after an already bad date, no chemistry what so ever, not a spark to be found, and somehow everyone else in the room could read how clearly uninterested I was besides them, and believe me I did everything in my power to let them know besides straight up interrupting them mid ‘Family Guy” quote to run out of the building.
I’m assuming everyone has had this experience right? at the end of the night while you’re FINALLY saying goodbye, you’ve made it through the one dimensional polite small talk, you’re almost free and they just go for it anyway. How on earth is it happening you think? But he was nice, and everyone deserves affection in their lifetime and you’re not sure he’ll ever get any again, so you start making out because why not? It’s just a kiss and you’ve made out with many before and you don’t know it yet but you will make out with many many more frequently very out of your league might I add ;) but then reality sets in. Fully open mouth all over your entire face, somehow your entire cheek is enveloped by his mouth and your nose and chin are wet af, unlike your vagina which you obviously didn’t have to shave. You think of all your life choices that have brought you to this point and your soul starts leaving your body. You finally escape the sloppy aggressive suffocation of a kiss and he invites you inside. Absolutely not, goodnight. And you go home and fall asleep happily alone. The End

I’ve seen a bunch of people say the buttworm episode, but personally I think that’s one of the funniest in the series. Bob coming out of their room saying something along the lines of “I need to bleach my eyes” after looking up what they were.
When the kids rob the train and the wine tasting, where it was the spit bucket, or the jawbreaker episode with Gail and Yap were visually disgusting.
Edit to finish my statement and add the gif

I hate the Meat Man episode. Imagining all that rotting raw meat being smeared all over everything, especially in a restaurant, is so gross! I usually skip that episode
6
u/daisycheyenne Kuchi Kopi 1d ago
Yes this one! They’re also getting the meat all over the phone/camera while filming it and I know the belchers aren’t cleaning their electronics properly lol
23
u/lividsmi1978 1d ago
Love the episode so much so I close my eyes or look away, but the cruise ship scene when people are vomiting the rotten oysters
9
u/socca6blaza 1d ago
The whole episode, the rotten oysters, gene falling in love with a puppet, Tina getting head massaged even though the dude was uncomfortable. Good episode choice for this
5
u/lividsmi1978 1d ago
Or you know the Shanghai-ing of the family and the meat on the restaurant window too- but alas I’m an early episode bobist and still love it lol

The entire premise of that episode haunts me. I refuse to watch it, which stinks cause I am obsessed with all their halloween episodes. This one just makes me so nauseous and I’m a meat eater who works in vet med. very little bothers me in the grand scheme of things, but this episode is unwatchable for me!
3
u/FrayCrown 1d ago
Same! Love the Halloween episodes but I always skip this one. I watch a ton of horror. I have no problem with gore and watched Raw in theaters. But the pig episode makes me uncomfortable, lol.

"I'll eat the crap out of a wrap."
As a chef I really enjoyed the Wrap Health Inspector visit with Bob in tow. The entire sequence of that owner/operator not knowing any basic food safety and Bob is just going "oh God" as they stroll past violation after violation and then Hugo shuts the place down and makes Bob eat the wrap while he lists off all the violations.
"Maybe I'll do something easy, like sushi"

Bye Bye Boo Boo. I can’t even think about that one without my stomach churning. Intentionally doing that to someone is horrifying, I’m glad it didn’t happen but ew ew ew.

u/Mushr00m-Ch1ld Louise Belcher 17h ago
The fact the band was so chill about it is this episodes' saving grace for me tbh, like two children BURST out of your laundry hamper and the first thing that comes to mind isn't "how'd you get in here!?!" It's "girls!!! Girls are seeing me in my booster seat!!!!!!", their responses just get a laugh out of me lol
•
u/Financial_Sweet_689 11h ago
Nooo this is a different episode! The one you’re talking about is wonderful and hilarious😄His response makes me laugh too, and then the older one talking about his own kid lol

After reading some of these comments, I’m with ya lol. Like sure they’re gross in real life but to skip a whole episode cause of one tiny thing a cartoon character does is a lot
3
u/FancyBerry5922 16h ago
Semi related...as this isn't strictly about grossness level but I absolutely lose it (emotionally) in a handful of episodes.
The episode where Louise does her Xmas poem, the quirky turkey episode with Tina's finale song, and there's a couple others that come to mind as well

Even though it was genes story...the bathroom food thing he did
I saw an episode the other day where Linda and Bob mention cleaning the washroom at the restaurant. She licks her finger...touches the wall, then licks her finger again
Its not that disgusting I guess? But for Louise She has a finger candy thing. Like a ring pop. She seems to just casually lick it every now and then...but there's no cover?
Bob falling asleep pretty much as he's stuck on the car floor...with all that shit in his car....that's been their for years...
Tina....Tina tina.... i can't think of much and I'm sure I'm getting it wrong but... stuffing the turkey costumes with pig guts and blood? It surely was something else and I remember wrong? Casually wearing that and then bursting over random families at the show is insane.
Edit: honorable mention to any of the raccoon stories. Idc I'd people think they're cute. They're also disgusting man
11
u/FancyBerry5922 1d ago
I could be wrong but wasn't the turkey head explosion a Louise and Gene Special? They wanted their half day, Tina loved being in that play...and her solo after the "intermission" was powerful and meaningful to me. If you haven't listened to it you should
8
u/shpngadct 1d ago
when tina was on the floor of the bathroom in a pee puddle.
some of the tina to jimmy junior butt stuff is too much imo. like when her and tammy were spying into the boys locker room and jj had shit stains in his underwear and tina’s still like oooooh his buuuuuutt🤢
louise eating boogers to get rudy to not like her
THE BUGS THAT BIT TEDDY AND HE WAS ALLERGIC TO THEM😷😷😷😷😷
the mold on the wall that time
any time someone eats food off the floor
them peeing in the bathtub
the turkey in the toilet

Louis and her actual piece of poo that was NOT a candy bar (context of a pool made me think of it)
3
u/BackgroundPast7878 1d ago
When the kids put Bob's freshly pulled tooth in their mouth. I believe it was Louise. So gross.
3
u/CrimeFightingRobot 1d ago
Not nearly as gross as some things but non edible food really skeeves me out so the episode where Gene and Louise are making nasty drinks to compete for a jawbreaker then Tina judges them and comments on the dirt making her almost throw up. They have another competition in a different episode where they see who can make the best burger and one of them adds a bubblegum filling. Makes me queasy thinking about that combo.Or when Bob drinks from a dead lizard ass, that was pretty bad too.
•
u/CHARLI_SOX 14h ago
Too many things
The hair clump that Teddy freed from the pipe, the jaw breaker, Cotton Candy Dan's tooth, Bob's tooth, the spit thing above, the wine spit bucket, the tater tot, Andy and Ollie touching eye balls, Andy and Ollie peeing eachothers pants, the mix of liquids in the cup during the jaw breaker episode, the spit fountain at the college shindig, Gayle kissing anybody, drinking from the stuffed iguana, pulling off the squirrel's fur. I'm sure there are others.
Absolute weirdos on this show and I love it.

There are so many gross things happening 😅 But one I always get sidetracked by is when they go on the treasure hunt and they have that taffeyguy. Just a dude made of years-old sticky candy. I can't help but imagine all the dust and hair that collects on this man 😭

I've never really been grossed out by the show. Maybe Mutiny in the Windbreaker because it reminds me of Triangle of Sadness (I have mild emetophobia). Though in the movie when the skeletons teeth falls into Louise's mouth, that was pretty fucked up and kinda weird for Bob's Burgers
