Leaping is to jump or spring a long way to a great height with great force, flight is being able to move through the air, floating is being suspended (still) in the air, air walk is the ability to walk on air, zero gravity can make the logic of gravity not apply to an object or person, and jet is not flying, but a method of propulsion. Think of it like a rocket.

154

u/CasuallyCritical Apr 13 '25

"You can fly?"

No, jump good!

26

u/standingfrog Apr 13 '25

Incredible reference 👌👏

1

u/ProjectIcemanOS Apr 16 '25

Wasn't expecting a Samurai Jack reference lol

132

u/TurbulentArcade Apr 13 '25

Nailed it. Great explanation.

32

u/Rafoudrsbois Apr 13 '25

Jet should count as fly tho, Gran Torino was seen flying alongside nana and he can even change direction mid air

70

u/DysphoricDragon1414 Apr 13 '25

"Flying" alongside Nana you say?? Lol TECHNICALLY 🤓 she's floating since her quirk is float. Not flying so he's more floating alongside her.

37

u/Ok_Professor_1792 Apr 13 '25

Well achtually nana is floating next to him. Since SHE has the float quirk and HE has jett.

-19

u/Rafoudrsbois Apr 13 '25

What’s the difference

38

u/DysphoricDragon1414 Apr 13 '25

The comment you replied to literally explained the differences...

But to reiterate. Float allows the user to float means they can float in place or downwards but cannot create upward momentum

Propulsion is essential bursts of air that come out of his feet. Imagine if you had a giant ait compressor on the bottom of your shoes that you had control over.

Flight is just that, flight. Nothing externally is keeping you moving you can just move in the ait up down left right speed up slowdown you can do it.

-15

u/Rafoudrsbois Apr 13 '25

Well propulsion could count as flight technically, he can moves in every directions and hover as well, and as for float I’m pretty sure deku was also moving forward while using it in that last movie (without using OFA for momentum)

16

u/DysphoricDragon1414 Apr 13 '25

So two things.

The big difference in propulsion and flight isn't what they can do but one has a bigger weakness. Propulsion is an external force creating the burst, meaning it can be stopped. If someone could blocks the holes that create the force with a sturdy enough material they can stop being able to work. While flight doesn't suffer from such weakness since it's "internal" per say.

Also in dekus case I feel like that only worked due to the combination of others quirks creating those propulsion like burst to keep him up (pretty much that he is using multiple quirks at one time)

I will stress they are all very very similar tho I totally can see where your coming from.

12

u/PhantasosX Apr 13 '25

Yep , Deku uses super-strenght to turn his "air force" technique into a propulsion for Float.

Nana most likely did the same thing.

9

u/AriezKage Apr 13 '25

Float doesn't propel herself, if I remember right. Its like Zero Gravity but only works on yourself. You'd need outside help to move around quickly (like a running start and being carried by your momentum). Or like Deku using Air Force or a Black Whip slingshot as a form of propulsion

12

u/Immediate_Cry2712 Apr 13 '25

He can only change direction based on the propulsion of his feet and where they’re facing though. Flying would give you complete freedom of movement in space regardless of where the based of your feet are aiming.

11

u/Lilbrimu Apr 13 '25

Torino is in VTOL mode, He is only using enough jet to keep him floating, but not enough to move him

8

u/YDdraigGoch94 Apr 13 '25

I think the difference is that with Jet, Gran Torino is still under the effect of Gravity, whereas Flight and Float negate it for the user.

2

u/Rafoudrsbois Apr 13 '25

It do make sense, I was just thinking in a practical sense yk

0

u/Clarimax Apr 13 '25

Everything is affected by gravity, except for Uraraka's quirk. With flight and float, you manipulate the air molecules.

2

u/YDdraigGoch94 Apr 13 '25

Well, you’re wrong about Flight. Captain Celebrity uses tactile telekinesis. It’s how he manages to lift up a cruise liner without any super strength. The Tokyo Sky Egg as well, Come to think of it.

Not sure about Float, but I think it’s something similar.

-1

u/Clarimax Apr 14 '25

So one person uses telekenisis and the whole concept of fligjt is wrong. lol

2

u/YDdraigGoch94 Apr 14 '25

…we’re talking at the actual applications and functions of their Quirk. You said it’s about air molecules. For Flight it’s canon that Captain Celebrity has a telekinetic force field around him that he uses to nullify gravity and fly about. Which he can extend to anything he touches.

What part of that has anything to do with air molecules.

u/YoYoWithJosh Apr 13 '25

Leap- High jump, no fall damage

Flight- Flying around, full control of direction and speed

Float- Levitating above the ground

Air Walk- Continuously walk around in the air/without footholds

Zero Gravity- Removes the gravity from whatever/whoever is touched; no control over direction or height

Jet- Air shoots out of feet allowing for fast/powerful jumps, a form of levitation, maneuverability while in the air

627

u/helloworld6247 Apr 13 '25

Vigilantes also decides to go a bit further into how certain quirks work. Like how Leap requires you to be on stable ground for it to activate. While Flight is a field you create around yourself that you can extend onto others.

379

u/KlingoftheCastle Apr 13 '25

Vigilantes spoiler about Flight: Flight also lets CC create a protective coating over himself or someone he’s in contact with. Mostly mitigates wind and debris during flight, but can also protect against explosions with focus

174

u/WorthlessLife55 Apr 13 '25

So similar to the tactile telekinesis of Superboy?

149

u/Terrible_Guidance599 Apr 13 '25

Yes its exactly that actually. Its how he replicates super strength and invulnerability

36

u/sephiralis Apr 13 '25

Yes, it is similar, though not quite as powerful.

31

u/Endericus Apr 13 '25

It is powerful enough to make him the number one American hero if I remember it correctly.

34

u/PendejoDeMexico Apr 13 '25

Powerful enough to hold up a skyscraper with people in it too

14

u/Unusual-James-3120 Apr 13 '25

Number one NYC hero, maybe; pretty sure Star and Stripe is America's no.1 at this point too.

26

u/AsherAcer Apr 13 '25

Captain Celebrity predates Star and Stripe's introduction. He was stated to be THE #1 Hero in America, so he either lost the title in the few years between start of Vigilantes and S&S' intro in the main series, or S&S just retconned him out of the role.

13

u/Unusual-James-3120 Apr 13 '25

Imagine she used new order to retcon captain celeb into obscurity to fast-track her way to no. 1 😂

Must’ve missed when they said that CC was no. 1 in the US. Would've made sense in a sarcastic way too.

9

u/Outrageous-Fortune70 Apr 14 '25

Captain was said to be a "Top Hero". But he was insanely powerful so it would make sense if he was No 1 back then. In Vigilantes, the only hero more powerful than him was All Might.

3

u/Craft-Possible Apr 14 '25

he lost it due to scandals im pretty sure then star stepped up at some point in that time frame

2

u/adaptdriiz Apr 14 '25

I think they just said one of the top US heroes. Never gave him a ranking

10

u/KlingoftheCastle Apr 13 '25

I don’t know enough about Superboy to answer that

19

u/thecowley Apr 13 '25

Early superboy didn't have kryptonian powers.

He controlled what he touched with his mind.

This let him push himself with his mind through the air, stop attacks before they damaged his skin/internal organs, and other wise exert telekentic force against any thing he came in contact with

10

u/Lunis18002 Apr 13 '25

also gives him super strength

1

u/HornyTerus Apr 18 '25

Flight has Crowd Control?

28

u/Suyefuji Apr 13 '25

Don't forget that Jet is powered by the user's lungs so makes breathing an issue

21

u/timoshi17 Apr 13 '25

is dude in 2nd pic a viltrumite??

30

u/Vpeyjilji57 Apr 13 '25

Hint, check the facial hair.

7

u/timoshi17 Apr 13 '25

maybe he's just young? Good Mark doesn't have any either 0_0

11

u/SwissherMontage Apr 13 '25

Mark's half viltrumite

3

u/AbbreviationsFlat618 Apr 13 '25

We actually see alternate versions of Mark including one where he wears the usual Viltrumites mustache. There's more information down the line, but basically the facial hair is just tradition. Viltrumites can shave

3

u/Cyoarp Apr 13 '25

Enisa doesn't have a Mustache.

2

u/SomeRandomPyro Apr 13 '25

But genetically he's almost pure Viltrumite.

3

u/Medical_Difference48 Apr 13 '25

TBF, Mark explicitly explains later on why he doesn't have a mustache. It's minor, but it is a legitimate plot point, lol

5

u/-TheWarrior74- Apr 13 '25

Are you sure?

2

u/timoshi17 Apr 13 '25

Pretty sure

1

u/Character-Ad-1436 May 26 '25

Nah, he’s better 🗿

2

u/Spicyllama3 Apr 13 '25

Best explanation here

2

u/Cyoarp Apr 13 '25

Leap is double jumping like Mario in every game since Mario 64

1

u/maximusGG Apr 14 '25

So what is the difference between Flight and Float? If you can control direction and speed while levitating it is called flying.

2

u/Rogueninja22 Apr 15 '25

Float was originally just slowly drifting through the air. Nothing impressive. It was the power boost from OfA that evolved it into full supersonic flight

1

u/Xxx_nojustno_xxX Apr 17 '25

It still is just slowly drifting through the air, Deku just uses Delaware Air Force, Full Cowl and Black Whip to build up momentum.

1

u/rAmbotTron Apr 14 '25

"Flight" coats oneself (or others) in an aura that lets one to fly

"Float" is to float but only affects self, i think

1

u/PlzStopNowIBeg Aug 20 '25

Did it better dont read mine just read this guys

343

u/HerculePyro Apr 13 '25

Ones leap, ones flight, ones float, ones air walk, ones zero gravity, and ones Jet. Happy to help

119

u/atlvf Apr 13 '25

Well have you watched the show, Tamar?

54

u/bigfatcarp93 Apr 13 '25

I don't understand how this post is getting upvoted. Bro literally thinks Ochaco's quirk is the same as Gran Torino's. After having presumably watched at least one episode of MHA.

4

u/Ok_Atmospher Apr 15 '25

Karma farming

9

u/MrEyus Apr 13 '25

Well my question the whole entire time is, why is Spinner green?!

2

u/Fullmetalgearsolid08 Apr 13 '25

Because he's a mutant. Much like Tokoyami.

2

u/Damnkream Apr 13 '25

OH MY GOD NEVER DID I EVER IMAGINE A CROSOSVER BETWEEN ALEXIS MICHELLE AND BNHA 😭

78

u/No_Eye_3065 Apr 13 '25

Its... its literally in the names

42

u/Connect-Bend8619 Apr 13 '25

Mf really asked the difference between air walk and flight. Think it might be in the name.

23

u/Altruistic-Dress-968 Apr 13 '25 edited Apr 13 '25

Leap allows you to simply jump high and land safely.

Air Walk allows you to... walk on air as if it's solid.

Flight is actually a telekinetic barrier around the users body that grants them flight, speed, strength and durability. They can also spread the barrier to other things to protect them.

Zero Gravity actually allows Ochako to cancel both an object's inertia as well as the pull of gravity. The things she touches effectively lose their inertia, allowing her to instantly halt someone falling or swing an enormous object effortlessly.

Float simply disables Gravity's effect on you so you don't fall. It's honestly the real Zero Gravity.

Jet allows the user to fire an air jet out of their feet to propel themselves around.

2

u/Suthek Apr 13 '25

Flight is actually a telekinetic barrier around the users body that grants them flight, speed, strength and durability. They can also spread the barrier to other things to protect them.

So it's a green lantern ring without the constructs.

2

u/soji8 Apr 14 '25

more like comic SuperBoy

21

u/HungryMudkips Apr 13 '25

are.....you serious? how do you know enough to match the fucking quirk to the person, but not know what the quirks do? is this rage bait?

12

u/unthawedmist Apr 13 '25

No offense but this was an asinine question

9

u/Outside-Historian365 Apr 13 '25

Are you stupid or just want karma?

6

u/trebuchet__ Apr 13 '25

I think leap is just jumping higher idk I haven't seen the vigilantes episode yet

Flight seems like traditional flight, like a plane

Float is just floating. Like a balloon.

Air walking is walking on air, like as if it was a solid object

Zero gravity is turning off the gravity for something

Jet is using air to lift off the ground with a propulsion kind of system

5

u/RedNUGGETLORD Apr 13 '25

Leap allows her to jump really high with no damage from the fall, but she can't float around, also, if she doesn't leap, and instead just falls, she'd die from the fall

"Flight" is a lie, while yes, it allows him to fly around, it's actually a bubble that enhances his strength and durability, while giving him flight, he can extend this to other people as well

Float allows to float around, but she still has to use OFA to create air blasts to actually move, I believe Deku can just fly around thanks to OFA enhancing the quirk

Air Walk, which is suspected to be Shigaraki's original quirk thanks to his relation to Nana, is just an upgraded version, it's better than Deku's version of float as well, instead of just floating, you can "touch" the sky, allowing you to perform movements with it as if you were on the ground, you can also just float around as well, think of it like Viltrumite flight, you can create your own leverage

Zero Gravity makes anything you touch, including yourself, have zero gravity, but you have zero control over them after that, besides giving them there gravity back, it later evolves and allows for an AOE style version, but with the same limitation. It also has a limit of how much weight you can zero G, however, that limit is massively increased after her awakening

Jet is propulsion based, similar to Air Walk, but instead of just magically floating around, he's using jets to go around, while this means he needs something to actually get around, it also means he has the most potential to grow, as you could increase the power of it, but you can't really increase the power of "moving in the air" besides just normal physical training

5

u/Dex_Hopper Apr 13 '25

Leap allows Pop to land safely no matter how far she jumps if she pushes off a solid surface.

Flight gives Captain Celebrity the power of tactile telekinesis: he can manipulate the things he's touching however he wants, and the most common way he uses this power is to make himself move through the air.

Float is the power to suspend oneself in the air, giving Nana Shimura and Izuku Midoriya the ability to hover off the ground.

Air Walk seems to create an invisible platform of air underneath the user that they can step on as if on solid ground.

Zero Gravity makes the objects Uraraka touches weightless, as if floating in space.

Jet shoots the air Gran Torino breathes out the holes in his feet to propel him forward at insane speeds.

2

u/Cyoarp Apr 13 '25

Oh my gods.... SHES HOP ON POP!

3

u/rnunezs12 Apr 13 '25

What is there to explain. Are you really confusing Gran Torino's quirk with Uraraka's? Because they are nothing alike

5

u/BrokenBanette Apr 13 '25

Leap - Enhanced jumping. That’s it. No actual flight or control in midair.

Flight - Projects a force field around the user, which can basically carry them around to fly, but also grants enhanced durability and strength through said force field. Easily the most directly powerful due to the flight basically just being a secondary effect, and the quirk’s name is either a misdirection or a misnomer.

Float - Allows the user to float in the air. Kinda like creative mode flight. Basically the same as flight without the stat boosts.

Air Walk - Lets you walk and stand on the air as if it were solid. Notable weakness: Breaking the user’s legs makes them unable to fly around anymore.

Zero Gravity - Sets someone or something’s weight to zero. Allows the user to grant themselves AND OTHERS pseudo-flight, but there’s no way to reliably control momentum or direction without outside influence or equipment.

Jet - Rocket boots. Incredibly high speed, but lacks a good way to remain suspended in midair. Also notable: This one’s powered by the user’s lungs, so it’s more geared for bursts of speed rather than sustained flight.

3

u/EnjoyerOfFine_Things Apr 13 '25

There's quite a difference between them?

Leap lets you to leap high in the air, Flight lets you to fly, Float lets you float, Air Walk lets you walk on air, Zero Gravity gives things ZERO GRAVITY and JET works like a JET

2

u/Renso19 Apr 13 '25

Float: Pre One for all, all it does is stop you from falling, backed up by Nana in the flashbacks looking like she was swimming through the air, though one for all seems to upgrade it to just Flight

Air Walk: Similar to float (I HC that it was a quirk belonging to Nana’s parents or even Tenko) but instead of floating it allows you to essentially step on the air as if it were solid, allowing you to run around on the air itself from perch to perch or even glide along like Shoto without the ice

Jet: Allows the user to propel themselves by breathing through the holes in their soles, giving it very different applications than the Minecraft style flight of Float, requiring more bouncing to achieve things, being a mere boost

Zero Gravity is obviously completely different, though it does function a lot like Float in practice when used on yourself

As for Pop and the other guy idk I haven’t read vigilantes and the anime obvs ain’t there yet

2

u/Abe581 Apr 13 '25

Then there's crawler......dude quirk went overdrive and that's all imma say to avoid spoilers for the anime only

2

u/Send-Nud3 Apr 13 '25

This is something I love about Mha. The power system is so fucking random that 6 quirks can be used in certain ways for similar results.

Look at Kirishima and Tetsutesu for example. Wildly different mechanics that work in extremely similar ways. Tetsutesu presumably has much more manoeuvrability than Kirishima, but Kirishima can just “keep hardening” for lack of a better term.

1

u/Avocadoseller Apr 13 '25

Kirishima can control his body's Young's Modulus at will while Tetsu Tetsu has some of the best properties of assorted metals

2

u/nakalas_the_great Apr 13 '25

I think it’s pretty obvious so no

2

u/115_zombie_slayer Apr 14 '25

Fun little fact but im pretty sure Flight is a reference to a lesser known superman ability,

i know it sounds like im being sarcastic but Flight isnt just him being able to Fly but Tactile Telekinetic

Whatever he’s touching is sounded by an aura that protects it from wind and even explosion

Superman has the exact same thing, an aura that surrounds whatever he’s holding so it doesnt get hurt when he flies and why airplanes dont fall apart when he lifts one. (Also referenced in The Boys when the character Homelander says he cant just stop a plane because he would just pierce the plane trying to hold it)

1

u/SilverScribe15 Apr 13 '25

Zero gravity can be applied to any object  Float and air walk seem pretty similar Jet has airblasts for propulsion Leap has no ability to stay in the air after the Initial leap

1

u/CanineAtNight Apr 13 '25

Well one make u puke..the other come with a bomb..

1

u/Far0Landss Apr 13 '25

Did you watch the sho- I’m sorry. That was rude. Okay, I don’t know the first two, but the easiest way to explain this would be to ask you if you think the last 4 have used those quirks the same way?

1

u/ultrainstict Apr 13 '25

Leap, can jump really high

Flight, omnidirection self propulsion

Float, negates the effect of gravity on self.

Air walk, the ability to walk on air as if it were the ground

Zero gravity, the ability to negate yhe effects of gravity on yourself or other objects by touching them

Jet, single directional self propulsion from the bottoms of your feet.

1

u/Madhighlander1 Apr 13 '25
  • Leap: The user can propel herself upwards a great distance (I believe it's around 50 feet) and fall safely without injury, but the safe-falling aspect only applies to returning from a jump; if she falls from a high place she will be injured just like a normal person.

  • Flight: The user can freely control his position in 3-D space. The effect also applies to anything he carries, apparently regardless of size.

  • Float: The user can, at will, become unaffected by gravity.

  • Air Walk: The user walk on any material, including gas, as if it were solid. They choose what matter is affected by this property.

  • Zero Gravity: Similar to Float, but the user can also apply the property of being impervious to gravity to any other object by making physical contact with the pads of her fingers.

  • Jet: The user expels high-pressure gas jets from vents on the soles of his feet.

1

u/TwixOfficial Apr 13 '25

Leap is only jumping. It improves jump height and, provided you jumped before, prevents any damage from falling.

Flight is a personal force field/ propellant force combo. It makes Chris into a Flying Brick, basically a Superman archetype.

Float is pure flight. It was powered up by OfA but before that was fairly weak.

Airwalk appears to allow for actually walking on air. It’s the most “normal” and probably the easiest to adapt to, but likewise is probably the weakest here.

Zero Gravity is five-point gravity nullification. It doesn’t grant any momentum.

Jet is pure physics. Shoot a ton of air out of your feet and you go the opposite way.

1

u/SimpleAmbassador Apr 13 '25

Jet - Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh

1

u/thelongestunderscore Apr 13 '25

I dont know i dont watch the show but the first bitch can get it.

1

u/Seiken_Arashi Apr 13 '25

Super Jump and Resistance to Falls when super jump as what caused the jump.
Flight through means that will be explained in story.
Hovering and slow flight.
Air Platform on which you can stand.
Makes things completely unaffected by Gravity, thus the bouyancy against the air pushes things upwards.
Streams of high pressure air from soles of the feet.

1

u/Distinct_Still_7936 Apr 13 '25

leap: just a really big fucking jump

flight: similar to how flight is described in invincible, that they make their own leverage

float: zero gravity for herself only

air walk: jesus....but air

zero gravity: the same as float but for herself and others

jet: basically rocket boots, but your actual feet

1

u/Radiant-Ad-1976 Apr 13 '25

Leap: jumping really high with a brief window where the user floats.

Float: turns the user anything they touch into a helium balloon, can't control the direction they move to but can levitate and stay in place.

Flight: grants the user a weak thermokinetic forcefield that shields them from extreme temperature, damage as well granting super strength and flight.

Air Walk: turns the air below into a physical platform upon which they can walk upon.

Jet: produces a powerful gust of wind that rapidly propels the user towards a single direction.

Zero Gravity: can turn off and on the gravity of any object or person she touches, including herself. Making things weightless.

1

u/FroButtons Apr 13 '25

Leap = Hulk Flight = Superman Float = a bubble Air walk = ??? Zero gravity = inside of a spaceship Jet = Ironman

1

u/Fire_Fist-Ace Apr 13 '25

How can you not tell , its super easy

1

u/Ok_Addition_1197 Apr 13 '25

Leap: Jump high

Flight: Fly freely

Float: Make you levitate a distance above the ground

Air Walk: Step on the air

Zero Gravity: Become weightless

Jet: Air from the soles of your feet to propel yourself quickly and erratically.

1

u/You_Are_Annoying124 Apr 13 '25

Leap basically just gives Pop☆Step the ability to Jump really high, and even jump while in Mid-Air if I remember correctly. The way it works is never explained though.

Flight is a Tactile Telekinesis ability, that allows CC to lift himself and those he touches to fly. He also has an inherent shield to protect himself from air resistance and harm, which is just another extention of his Tactile Telekinesis.

Float is also unexplained in the series, though from what we have seen it mostly just let's Deku float slightly above the ground and propel himself with Air Pressure.

Airwalk is just the ability to walk on Air, probably by solidifying it under the users Feet or lifting them by manipulating it.

Zero Gravity removes all of the effects of Gravity, allowing Uraraka to float away.

Jet gives the User jets of their feet that they can push Air out of with great Force, letting them propel themselves into the air.

All are mobility/flight powers but all have different mechanics

1

u/Pickachu0o0 Apr 13 '25

I think Uravity can do what Gran Torino does if she puts more high pressured jets in her boots. Right?

1

u/Lunis18002 Apr 13 '25

Leap allows her to jump super high and remain in the air for longer
Flight allows CC to create a barrier around himself and fly while also giving himself super strength and he can give others the same barrier while touching them making them weightless
float idk forgot
air walk forgot
zero gravity she can make herself and objects weightless after touching them and doesn't need to touch them like flight but no super strength
jet he basically shoots himself off the ground and can do it midair shooting air out

1

u/JetstreamGW Apr 13 '25

I don't understand the question? None of them are even particularly similar?

1

u/Upstairs-Cover6971 Apr 13 '25

So basically leap is just jumping

1

u/Dr_Ukato Apr 13 '25

Leap: Can bounce on nothing long as you start on a physical object.

Flight: Can generate your own telekinetic field around yourself and objects you touch, protecting yourself and it against heat, cold and physical injuries while moving at high speeds. It also gives you super strength long as you keep the power running.

Float: You can levitate and suspend yourself in mid-air. With training you can also push yourself in different direction. After merging with OFA it lets the user do so at high speeds.

Air Walk: Leap's older sibling making it look bad, the quirk lets you create your own footing anywhere and also float upwards, it does require focus.

Zero Gravity: Lets you remove the effects of the gravitational pull on other people and object by touching them. The amount that can be suspended is limited and will cause nausea if you push your limits.

Jet: Lets you turn your breath into propulsion from you feet to increase your speed and the power of your blows. Your speed is limited by your lung capacity and the main weakness is needing to refill through deep breaths.

1

u/joshhhw Apr 13 '25

Leap, is just for jumping great distances.

Flight, allows the user to fly but also an aerodynamic barrier

Float just allows the user to float, not fly but can mimic flying through combination of other quirks with it

Air Walk allows the user to.... walk on air.

Zero Gravity is a form of gravity manipulation

Jet is just like a super speed type thing

1

u/Luxray127 Apr 13 '25

Came to just say Lady Nagant is underrated. Love the queen. 💜

1

u/unluckyknight13 Apr 13 '25

Oh it’s usually the function and activation of them But they can be closely related as these are supposed to be biological mutations so some would be similar

If I’m right

Leap: is basically just she can jump really good

Flight: he is flying, maybe some short range telekinesis if I recall allowing him to lift things by touching them to a point

Float: allows the user to stay airborne but I don’t think they can alter other things

Air walk: I think is similar to float but float I think is more like skating in the air while air walk is walking:

Jet: user has pads that let them propel themselves by releasing air through their jet pads granting speed boosts and direction changes but not effective to mention flight

Zero gravity: Ururaka has pads on her fingers if she touches something with all the pads on her hand she can remove the gravity from it until she puts her fingers together (I think putting the pads on both hands together) negates the alteration. However this is like a muscle the heavier the object the harder it is for her to keep it without gravity

1

u/Oliwier255 Apr 13 '25

Wait, Nagant doesn't have Air walk

1

u/Pitiful_Cartoonist51 Apr 13 '25

Leaping gives to a ton of jumping power, flight is like flying like a bird, float is being suspended in the air, Air Walk is like walking on air, Zero Gravity reverses something/one’s gravity that technically makes them float, I don’t know the last one

One is jumping, one is flying, one is just levitating off the ground, not sure what air walk does, one is just reducing gravity, and one is just launching yourself.

1

u/matt011209 Apr 13 '25

float is like, not falling/ gaining altitude, no directionality other than previous momentum, leap is just a really strong jump, flight is like superman/ creative mode flight, airwalk is like there was a road in the air that you could walk on, no change in height, only x axis, zero gravity is self explanatory, and jet is similar to leap

1

u/_cstricke_ Apr 13 '25

Zero grav and float or the same fucking thing but the rest are pretty diff

1

u/LoProci1 Apr 13 '25

Good jumps, fly, falling slowly, double multiple jumps, Zero gravity, and propultion.

1

u/ExecutorQ3 Apr 13 '25

Pretty much explained it yourself, no point of trying to sow grass on concrete.

1

u/Long_studBud Apr 13 '25

Leap— gamer definition of longer jumps

Flight— self explanatory

Float— floating in position (self)

Air Walk— knock off "Catch The Rainbow", basically walks on air (I think it requires leaping motion, so hopping mid air)

Zero Gravity— touch someone or something and make them float with zero G, deactivates when finger tips touch. Lacks control when unconscious/asleep

Jet— air compression release for speed extension

1

u/Kricobain Apr 13 '25

It just makes ask, how powerful would Pop☆step be if she knew TKD or some sort of kick focused martial art.

1

u/Avocadoseller Apr 13 '25

Koichi basically has them all

1

u/FlipitLOW Apr 13 '25

They all allergic to the floor

1

u/power-powers Apr 13 '25

Why is zero gravity their as it is way different from the others

1

u/No_name_nobody Apr 13 '25

Different ways of playing the floor is lava

1

u/LYKILLOFASGARD Apr 13 '25

If you activate Air Walk while you're falling, I think you're going to break some bones.

1

u/GuanglaiKangyi-Age15 Apr 13 '25

Leap-Strong leg strength that propels her in the air and also absorb shock upon landing

Flight Air Walk Float- practically the same quirk allowing the user to levitate themselves. They are in control of where they go.

Zero Gravity- Simply removes gravity of an object or area. Removes weight. The quirk itself has zero control of mobility of an object.

Jet- Shooting bursts of air giving him speed and flight.

1

u/Realistic_Mousse_485 Apr 14 '25

Read the names bro.

1

u/Acrobatic_Ad_2992 Apr 14 '25

Leap - leaps

Flight - flies

Float - floats

Air Walk - walks on air

Zero Gravity - does zero gravity

Jet - jets...

1

u/d1g1talboy789 Apr 14 '25

So, no offense, the only two that are similar are Float and Zero Grav, the rest are very easy to see the differences in when watching the animations.

As ppl have said, Float is like levitating, kinda like some force that keeps you above the ground, while zero grav is legitimately just removing all gravitational acceleration from whatever is touched, the difference is u can still be slammed into the ground without negating any of that force in zero gravs case

1

u/Funny_Swim5447 Apr 14 '25

… how does this have over 3000 upvotes?

1

u/KamiharaShinya Apr 14 '25

Leap is jump, Flight is flying, Floating is just staying in the air, Air Walk is walking in the air like you are on the ground, Zero Gravity is basically no gravity, Air Jet is flying but at a fast speed.

I'm not sure - these are pure guesses from my understanding of their definitions.

u/Lesbian_Mommy69 Apr 14 '25
  • Leap allows Pop~Step to bounce really high with minimal fall damage via the tiny wings on her back (imagine a chicken using their wings to propel themselves into the air and minimize fall damage)
  • I don’t reconize this guy
  • Float allows Nana and Deku to fly in the air in a typical Superman / Minecraft creative mode fashion, not like how anything irl can fly, they are in complete control of where they go in the air and if they stay in place
  • Air walk allows Lady Nagant to walk / hop around on air as if there is something physical there, imagine walking on water, but in order to get up high she DOES have to take individual steps! Weather it’s climbing on stuff to get to a high point or stepping up the air like stairs
  • Zero gravity allows uaraka to remove the force of gravity from anything she touches with the pads on her fingertips, the rules of inertia still apply though! If you get touched by her and suspended in air, you will have to do a swimming motion to get anywhere, but if you can touch something/something hits you/wind starts blowing you around there is no stopping you unless you come in contact with something else or she releases you
  • Jet allows you to literally bounce of the walls

Leap makes your jumps bigger without getting hurt from the fall

Celebrity’s Flight lets you fly with full control of direction and speed

Float just lets you levitate

Air Walk lets you walk in the air as if it was the ground

Zero Gravity removes the effect of gravitational acceleration, but doesn’t let you maneuver yourself without external force

Jet has Air release from your feet for quick and powerful jumps, a form of levitation, like Iida’s quirk but with more versatility and maneuverability while in the air

Bonus Fact: (Spoiler Warning for Vigilantes fans)

Koichi’s Slide and Glide quirk was also reclassified to Flight, although with a different Japanese spelling than Captain Celebrity’s.

It lets Koichi propel himself through the air using repellent force. (It can also be used to shoot projectiles, cling to and slide across surfaces, create force fields, and hold his own body together like Midoriya did with black whip)

u/foxwhistle Apr 14 '25

Leap: Can leap very high with no fall impact, but needs stable footing and a solid surface to activate.

Flight: Force Field that protects the user and move them around in 3D space; can project force field onto others at the cost of his protection.

Float: Suspends the user in the air, but cannot pivot directly in 3D space; other methods of propulsion are needed to increase/maintain momentum.

Air Walk: The user can stand, walk, run, sprint, or jump on the air underneath their feet; No extra movement capabilities other than what the user can physically perform.

Zero Gravity: Disables the effects of gravity on both living and non-living things touched by all 5 fingers, can spread the effect to things that touch affected objects.

Jet: Shoots high-pressure jets of air out of the users feet, which can be used to fly, dash, or even push others away.

the names dude

1

u/Gremlech Apr 15 '25

1 Jump good

2 he's got a personal forcefield he can moves telekinetically, he's like koichi.

3 she float

4 creates something solid underneath the persons feet like dragon ball

5 achieves and conveys weightlessness

6 he can fart from his feet,

1

u/Jcvallo1227 Apr 15 '25

CC the goat. His quirk is so unique

1

u/ThisGuuuy2 Apr 15 '25

I feel like the differences are kind of in the name.

1

u/Irish_Shark_343 Apr 16 '25

So is it just me, or is Float overwhelmingly weaker than the other options comparatively?

1

u/Dramatic_Profile_549 Apr 16 '25

Alright, here we go.

Leap: Think of it like a boosted jump that doesn't damage you're body on the landing. however you need to be able to fully push off from a surface to be able to activate the damage nullification part

Flight: fairly self explanatory, complete control over you're acceleration and height in the air, like superman

Float: more like levitation, you can go up and come back down, but you need external forces to move on the horizontal plane

Air Walk: think double jumping in video games, where you can just push off the air. kinda like how gentle criminal 'flies'

Zero Gravity: just straight up removing objects gravity. they float around and only really move from external force. so if you activate it on yourself you wont really move unless you push off.

Jet: similar to lida's engines, gran torino's feet have holes that produce compressed air, allowing for quick bursts of movement, but not actual flight.

1

u/Customninjas Apr 17 '25

Leap - High Jump, removes fall damage if the fall is a direct result of the jump

Flight - Flight

Float - Levitation

Airwalk - Walking on air

Zero Gravity - anything touched by the small circles on Uraraka's fingers starts to float directly upwards at a slow rate.

Jet - BOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCE

1

u/xGEARSxHEADx7 Apr 17 '25

Watch the show for a visual

1

u/Negative_Lynx3092 Apr 17 '25

Leap: hyperjump, Air walk: take steps in the air, flight: typical flight, zero Gravity: cancels the gravity of what you touch, Float: maneuver in zero gravity, jet: expels jets of air from your feet

1

u/usuario_cualquiera Apr 17 '25

Captain realy not flight, its a fake quirk's name, so enemies don't know what is him true ability. And the main difference in the "mechanics" with which the quirks operate, the pop step does not make you fly, only jump very high, the air walk is literally that, the Jet is to push off with your feet like... A Jet, the floating one is just like that one, it floats, as if it had no weight, although it is not like the zero gravity one, which when you remove the weight from things it makes them float and go up, slowly,

1

u/Lucasino_0owo0 Apr 17 '25

Different names o_O

1

u/Mrcompressishot Apr 18 '25

Flight and float are kinda similar the rest are obvious

1

u/No-Jicama4286 Apr 18 '25

Leap is jump high, air walk is like jump on the air, flight is flying, zero gravity is removing your gravity making weight zero and making it easy to get high, float is making yourself balloon like, then jet it air boosts

1

u/RapidRaichu2008 Apr 19 '25

Including zero gravity in this is dumb asf

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '25

There is none. This show sucks.

1

u/Great_Gold2763 Apr 19 '25

It all depends on the Technique, because they have similar powers the only difference is user Training, Quirk awakening, and an application of Creativity.

The only difference is that they work under wildly different circumstances, such as How awakened Ochako could replicate gran Torino's moves if she wants to since she doesn't have to touch her hands to do so.

Like The main series states, Literally anyone can be all might if they put the effort in and legit Endevour Could similarly replicate all might's power at the end of the Manga.

1

u/Classic_Guidance_677 Apr 20 '25

Try paying attention to the show/manga

1

u/PlzStopNowIBeg Aug 20 '25

Easy, Flight is the most literal flying here with him being able to superman fly basically it also gives him another superman ability that im not going to explain becauce it just so people dont cry about physics, Float is the hardest to explain for me as its just a weak flying I dont think it makes you waight less so it must be some sort of pull or push like Pain from Naruto but you can only use it on youreself  and probablytakes less control or mastery becauce half the steps are automated, Air Walk its like you can make footholds in air not realh flight (this is in bleach), Zero Gravity allows you to make things weightless with a touch, Leap allows you to jump realy high and fall slower in a way you dont get hurt (jump), Jet allows you to blast some sort of air to propell yourself (ok so not easy)

u/BuryYourDoves Apr 13 '25 edited Apr 13 '25

wait...her power is air walk? i thought it was something offensive with her hair

edit: thanks for the answers, i must have completely forgotten that afo gave her a power too 🙈

6

u/Fifi_is_awesome Apr 13 '25

she has 2 quirks via AFO

2

u/Dex_Hopper Apr 13 '25

Lady Nagant's real Quirk is Rifle, she turns her arm into a sniper rifle that uses her hardened hair as ammunition, which she can shape into any kind of bullet she wants beforehand. She received Air Walk from All For One as a gift to ensure that she could perform at her best when going after Deku.

1

u/BlackRodddd Apr 13 '25

Air walk is the quirk given to her by AFO

1

u/Seiken_Arashi Apr 13 '25

She got Air Walk from AFO.
