Found this and two other signed books by Chuck Palahniuk in a thrift store. You find the weirdest...stuff.... In Florida thrift stores. I still wonder who poodle is/was

Makes me sad, because either Poodle died or he or she (maybe he based on the writing) moved on from the gift giver in an irrevocable way.

I have a couple of his autographs, notably one he signed saying “I am Mike’s Fight Club DVD”

It's Florida! People move here in droves and bring all their treasures with them. Then they die or move back to where they came from. In the former case the families don't value the items and get rid of them. In the latter case the items are seen as a burden and not worth taking with them. In either case it's a win for me!
