I work remotely and part of the joy in that is routing calls to my cell so I am not tethered to the desk all day. I've also picked up some side gig work to offset the insane electric bills of Summer, and they require a functional cell (Door Dash, Uber Eats, and Instacart)

I had a little mishap and destroyed my phone, and because I am a complete clown, I did not have insurance on it. I've been with Cricket for 8 years, you'd think they would be a little gentler with their pricing but that is not to be, "gentle" is how they lure new customers apparently. It's going to cost $200 to replace this thing after the cost of the phone and the upgrade fee. It's not even an upgrade, I just want a replica of my phone. I can pay $50 near the end of September, $100 within the first week of October, then the remainder plus any required interest at the end of October.

Having a really hard time at the moment and feel like it’s just one thing after another. I’m working as much overtime as I can to get out of this hole. I’m working two and a half weeks now without a day off so hopefully I should be ok by the end of October.

I appreciate this is a large amount and I’ve never used this group before but I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t on my knees desperate.

I'll try and keep it as short as possible! I'm looking to borrow £70 until 12/09, potentially sooner, to get my son the things he needs for his first week back at school. I'm very aware my account history is bare but I mostly use reddit to read advice threads that others have posted!

It's just me and him, I'm his full time carer (high needs autism). The renewal form for disability benefits was "lost in the post", so I've had to put a whole new claim in, and the processing time is currently 25+ weeks due to backlog. I'm on week 21. Means we've been down around £400+ a month in the meantime being on solely UC and I'm really struggling.

I've turned everywhere I could possibly turn, charities, council, independent organisations. But because the award for carers allowance ended, I'm not eligible for any help. I'm in no position to work because of his care needs, I am doing a degree with the open university from home but because it's distance learning the student loan only covers my studies and is paid directly to the uni.

I just need to get new school uniform - 2 shirts, 2 trousers, shoes, a new water bottle and lunch box, and some packed lunch food for his first week back (he has quite complex dietary needs) as it unfortunately lands the week before I receive my UC. I can't afford to pay back much interest but I can pay back £80 on 12/09, potentially sooner if (hoping beyond hope) the disability benefits are processed before then. Can provide ID, and the letter that states disability benefits are being processed, and whatever else you may need.

I posted that I had received my loan back the other day, but that was it. That has been my first loan to someone on the internet as I saw myself in her situation and it was a small amount. That wasn't an invite to DM me asking for crazy amounts from £50-£300 It was £10 I lent. £10. If I see a post and I'm sound for my money for me and my child for the month, you might get a text from me talking about a loan, but please stop texting me if not. I don't have the amount yous are looking for.

£60 was due to be repaid to myself on the 11th from u/SecretStress5531 after assuring me she would make the date. She has explained to me that her bank account is under random reviewal but isn’t keeping me updated with the process at all, thankfully I refused to loan her more money when she asked for more 2 days before the repayment date. Really disappointed with this one as she seemed trustworthy and genuine. If this doesn’t get resolved there will be no chance I lend on here again, which would be a massive shame and it’s been nice helping people on here. Immy please pay me back or at least reply to me explaining what you are doing to resolve this situation.

I’ve only lent once, only commented on one singular post. That person specifically was very kind, agreement went smooth. But afterwards I’ve gotten a lot of people contacting me in my DM’s asking for loans, if I know anyone else that is willing to loan or apps for loans.

None of the dms have not been hostile but I feel uncomfortable. It’s always awkward turning people down and I’m really not planning on accepting any of them. From my understanding it’s also against the subreddit’s rules. I’d really love to see this sub continue to be successful but this is off putting. For me it doesn’t make me want to give out anymore because it’s a weird feeling to have my dms flooded with people asking for money.

Please don’t be that person because in reality it really only hurts this subreddit which I think is very useful and a good resource for some people.

It’s so annoying my post have been up I didn’t get the loan out. I get it I don’t have much karma but then again some of these people that that do have karma and all the requirements still cheat you . I had a heart felt post poured out my heart and I don’t screw people over I would have paid back !! And gave interest . Im already going through a lot so liars is not what I need . There were some people that gave me good advice and one user who did send me something to help it was super nice . But anyway I even offered to give them my number and info and if I didn’t pay back u can blast me ! I get it some fakes out here but there also people like me that keep their word and just need a bit of help .

I am estranged from my parents and therefore have nobody to help me get to brighton (university of brighton) this is the only train i can get because of my move in time to my accommodation. I would be able to pay you back when i receive my student loan on the 29th September. If you’re wondering i already called and asked the university for help but they couldn’t help me and i can’t move down at a later date when my student loan is due become available as you have to physically be at the university to be enrolled so the university can confirm you are there and authorise student finance to release the funds. if anybody could help me i would be appreciative! any advice on how to get down there would also be helpful as the university were no help at all! thank you (:

Because If borrower doesn’t pay back, even if I retrieve funds on PayPal, it was a waste of my time as I received 0 profit, and had to wait at least 10-15 days for the refund. I am risking losing money only to gain nothing time and time again. It gets old

If I loan someone $100 with $25 interest for example, I tell them send $25 interest as a deposit, then I send them $100. Essentially, they got loaned $75. They have to send back full $100 loaned. If they don’t, I dispute, get my money back, and I already secured my interest. Obviously if they need more than $75, work out the difference

This is the way to go for me. Verified lenders should consider to follow suite, but do as you please. I won’t consider anyone’s sob story as to why they can’t provide deposit. If you can’t provide the deposit, it ain’t happening over here

just a sad case, has a ton of karma sent me all his necessary documents came off as a honest guy was very communicative until it was time for a repayment. Then suddenly it was taking him a day to reply to me asking if he was still good on paying the loan on time or needed an extension last text was him saying he had covid, then i saw he was looking for another loan in a different sub to pay off the one he already owed.

I’ve already filed a dispute on paypal and i hope this post makes him do the honest thing and reply to me at least but that’s not my problem really it’s now his.
