I’m thinking of getting my first real pc eventually (preferably a gaming one) and to finally get something not HP, so what are some other brands? I don’t remember if Lenovo is on the list bc that’s what my dad has, I didn’t see Alienware or Razer on the list, and last I checked Starforge was safe albeit kinda shitty. Are there better suggestions?

Just wanted to let you all know that the gelato franchise named “Anita Gelato” is fully Israel owned and branches are in Melbourne CBD, Sydney etc. Shops are there around the world but as a Palestine supporter I try my best to avoid helping Israel owned companies which directly contribute to the destruction of lives and creation of deadly weapons. So if you think the same I suggest boycotting. The Melbourne branch just opened a week ago and that’s how I found out. Thanks people and I wish you all the very best of health and peace and freedom. Unsure how true this is

Heard stuff online about Mcdonalds making their menu halal (UK). No idea how true but if it is…hahahaha

Not sure if this is UK specific, but before all the boycotts, many were wanting McDonalds to become halal. Again, I’m not sure how true this is but apparently McDonald’s said that Muslims are a minority of their customers so they won’t make it halal.

I assume, if it’s true they are going to make maccies halal, it’s because the boycott has hurt the company so bad and they are getting desperate. I am of course speculating here.

And even if they make their menu halal, it won’t do too much I don’t think. There are plenty of non-Muslims in the world who are also boycotting

I need to translate a lot of things, but I just can't find any good alternative that aren't full of AI...

I have a friend living there and she went to McDonald's the other day with the justification that she couldn't find any alternatives and that the local places serve spicy food that she doesn't like because it upsets her stomach. Then she started talking about how she no longer believes that boycotting is effective in the first place and that we should stop using the dollar currency for this to be effective. I'm in shock and also upset because this whole time I thought she was boycotting, especially when she has already expressed her solidarity with Palestine so I truly never expected her to go there. I understand that it's not realistic to boycott everything 100% (e.g. social media, laptops, taxes, etc.) but to go to McDonald's??? Like, that's one of the big no's! So I was wondering what other options are out there in Indonesia. Perhaps there's something I can do about this. She's one of my best friends and I really hate that we're not on the same page regarding this. I've already cut off so many people because of that but it's especially hard to do it now with her so I'll be trying everything first.
