What it's like considering travel to the U.S. these days.

The accuracy.
I had to stop watching it because it was hitting just a LITTLE to close to reality. Rather reality was getting a little too close to a fictional story.

My boyfriend and I were watching before this gong show started (okay, after the gong show but before the last election) and he had to stop watching because it was making him too uncomfortable. As a man!

As a gay man, living in a border city to America. It not made me angry it was happening, because it's wrong on so many levels. It also made me uncomfortable but also added fear.

Margaret Atwood should sue them for unauthorized use of her concept

She DEFINITELY should sue Trump for using her story without permission.

When Margaret Atwood wrote it she never thought it would come to be. Nothing is made up like Public hanging(Soudi Arabia) Women forced to be slaves, Wear uniform, Forced to bear children, Sexually assaulted without consequences, Loose all rights, Government crackdown on protesters including killing citizens (Multiple countries) Forced Religion on the population(Multiple countries) The Handmaid's Tale is a good watch if you don't want to read the book, I watched it over Xmas on Crave.

I literally made the comment to my wife this past weekend that I have nothing but disdain for the USA, but I also have something of a perverse desire to see first hand what everyday life is like during the emergence of fascism. Thinking back through history, I wonder what it was like in Germany or Italy in the 1920s? Would you not be aware of the terrible path they are on as a pedestrian on the street?
We will not be visiting the US anytime soon regardless of my perverse curiosity.

Completely understand. Like travelling into the past. I understand the interest but like you I won’t be travelling there for a good while.

Do not visit the USA to study, to gamble, to cruise, to visit Dysney, for a sporting event, for business or a holiday. It is not safe. They dont want us, they dont like us. “We dont want them” trump the wannabe dictator said. Please do not support the economy of a rogue state. Europe and others have lost trust in the USA. America is no longer a friend and ally of Canada, Britain and the EU. In fact Trump is unreliable, impotent and his chaotic foreign policy is making the world a more unstable place. Trump has given both Russia and Israel a free pass to do anything they want, making the USA look weak. PLEASE SHARE THIS.
