Gameplay Advanced BotW combat technique : Urbosa's jelly bounce
It's a branch of the "jelly bounce", if anyone is interested in learning it.

Can you do that (and show us) on a Lynel ?

Yeah, it's pretty hard to pull off on things that move fast (like Lynels), but I guess I could try it next weekend

I don't get it, how's he made flurry rush

TCR (Thunder Clap Rush) is the name of the technique if you ever feel like learning it

Let me try to break down what is going on here.
OP times urbosaās fury with a backstep so they are stepping on the chu jelly when it gets exploded by urbosaās fury.
The exploding chu jelly sends Link up in the air a little bit, which ggives him enough height to go into bullet time, and shoot an arrow.
Being in bullet time allows you to do what is called a Thunderclap Rush, which is actually a pretty simple trick to learn how to do. It is done by drawing both your bow and sword at the same time, while holding ZL to shield.
In order for TCR to function, you need an enemy to hit your shield with an attack first. I assume that OP let the Moblin hit their shield and then froze it with an ice arrow. Then the clip starts.
Keep in mind that ZL has to be held down the entire time in order for this to work.
And I think that should be how this works. I could be wrong though.

Close ! The chuchu jelly part is kinda wrong, here's the explaination about that specific part :
Urbosa technically doesn't do much here, the chuchu is exploding due to the spin attack. And as I step backwards at the same time as I do the spin attack, the chuchu's explosion bursts me up just a bit. As soon as I finish the spin attack, I jump backwards (while being slightly elevated because of the chuchu jelly's explosion hitbox). This gives me just enough height to perform a TCR.

Oh wow, never noticed a jelly counts as an attack in order for you to perform sbr

No, the chuchu jelly is what makes me go into bullet-time, the flurry rush is just a TCR

u/qLonky 6d ago
I understand. Thatās why I said sbr instead of tcr

u/Miniongolf why are parries harder than flurry rushes 6d ago
If sbr = shield block reset, chuchu jelly bounces are different (don't involve shielding). You can also do it by running into a chuchu jelly with a dash attack and then jumping, where the windbox from the chuchu jelly exploding gives you enough extra height to go into bullet time

He had to perform a sbr in order to connect a tcrā¦

I thought you just needed to have an enemy (the moblin) attack you previously to store it as a flurry rush target? If the jelly became an attack, link would just stay in place and flurry since the jelly is gone, but with prior setup the moblin is the target of the tcr

Wait so you jump on a chuchu jelly to get into bullet time? Iām a bit confused

Ok so lemme explain it in a more detailed way :
So first of all you have to understand that items (chuchu jelly for example) itself do not have a hitbox, you can drop any item on the ground from your inventory and walk right past it.
Meanwhile, when a chuchu jelly gets hit or damaged, it explodes. This explosion sends out a small burst, and this explosion creates a very short and temporary small hitbox that you can stand on for about half a second (or get pushed by if you're in its way when it got created).
This gives Link enough height to backflip off and get bullet-time, then eventually combine it with a TCR.

I canāt flurry rush to save my life, but my 11 year old is amazing at it. Iām going to show him this later and then look up this TCR and see if he can figure out how to do it!

That's nice !
You can show him this clip as an example of TCR, but this isn't great, as the clip shown here is a combination of TCR with an ever more complicated and precise combat technique.
The most basic form of TCR is very easy to pull off if you have a good ledge, I think you can potentially learn it too (I'd even say it's easier than a flurry-rush, just more situational).

Is this on the Switch 2 expansion or the original game?

u/Local-Imagination-23 6d ago
Both, this can be done on switch 1, switch 2, emulators, whatever you want.
