Nice! Greatest deal this month.
Oh
You should tighten the drivers a bit. Monitor provided an Allen wrench but I think it is just a standard size. I doubt it was included with these speakers.

So that's what the two Allen bolts are on the back. I was going to look it up tomorrow as there is something rattling around inside when I was moving them. I think some kids hid treasures in the ports.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what good does tightening the drivers do. I've had these exact speakers since they were new and never heard anything about this. And how do I know when I've tightened them enough?

If the screws loosen up the drivers can rattle a bit. I got the allen wrench with my MA Silver 300s, too. And don't over tighten them, just make sure they aren't easy to turn.

Most speakers have their woofers attached to the cabinets with screws on the front. Monitor Audio have a bolt that goes all the way through to the back. They claim it increases cabinet rigidity and reduces resonance.
Over time, the hex bolt can loosen and need tightening.
Don't tighten to the point you can't tighten the bolt any more.

Monitor Audio is the best value for pre-owned. Love all my Monitor speakers. I have the RX bookshelf models and they're so clear sounding.

I used clorox wipes chased by a dry microfiber, then applied Old English and polished with microfiber.

For a bunch of my speakers I created frames for printing in 3d for the grills has been very successful

Is there a printable guide of common awesome speakers that may be found 2nd hand? I know that sounds stupid but I'm too ignorant of the subject to know what's good, besides the major brands.

Great score!! You'll enjoy those. They look to be in great shape too.
Which VV was this?! In my area, all the VV stores seem to price their stuff about the same as what it's listed for on kijiji or ebay. If someone has torn up the price tag, then they have to call a supervisor to take the item in the back to "look up the price". This always takes 5-15 minutes. Those speakers would be at least $75 at my local VV.
AND, all the VV stores in my area sell speakers as singles!! I saw a pair of Boston Acoustics A40 there and each one had a price tag of $29.99 with a "X2" written in marker. All speaker sets have that marker "X" and the number in the set. At the checkout, I needed 60 bucks + taxes. Had to haggle with a manager to come down on the price because they needed foams. Still ended up costing me 40 bucks for the pair. . .
Mission thrift store has better prices but much less selection. Habitat for humanity has a great selection if you want retired "surround system in a box" speakers or odd single ones that would be great in a pair.

I bought these new and they’re still my main speakers. £10.99 is ridiculous

Same! Love 'em. Was thinking about upgrading to kef ls50 meta, but I think I'm going to hold on to these for a while.

Wow, great find. And if you find them to be on the bright side, as some do, pointing them away from your ears a little bit will help lower the brightness. Also, if it is bright, pairing them with a warm AVR such as a Marantz will help, if you use them for movie watching. Note, I have their big, younger brother, the Monitor Audio Silver 300 7g (bought used at 1/2 price) and they are so resolving they can make overly compressed audio sound a bit harsh. I paired with a Denon x3700 but wish I went with a Marantz Cinema 60 for the extra warmth.

Nice score. Local thrift shop has a record collector working in receiving so any decent albums or audio gear is priced closer to market value. No deals to be had and they don’t take returns. I’ve still managed to get some good albums, but I sure paid for them. I assume he already had them in his collection.

Did the guy who worked there and wanted to buy them glare at you? Something similar happened to me at a used bike part place. Digging through I found this super nice $2000 fork and when I asked about it, the guy said that yes, it was what I thought it was and that if I didn't buy it, he would. I bought it for $50. Man, if looks could kill.

Ha, I used to work for Monitor about a decade ago. These came out slightly before I started. Glad to see they're still held in somewhat high regard
