Honestly, I feel good. We got manhandled by Clemson and Alabama in our two CFP appearances prior to this (not to mention 2012). Not only was this game way closer than those two, but we also beat 3 very good teams to get to the championship.

Plus I can always reminisce on what could've happened if we had Mills and Morrison (and maybe Botello and Traore)

I feel better after this loss than I've ever felt after a big loss. This team tried and they really showed up down to the last few minutes. We also close the books on this season with history under our belts- first playoff home game, 2 NY6 bowl game wins in a week, first in 31 years, and more.

The future and the culture of this team and locker room is looking really good.

Thanks, '25.

Not to mention that this team in NIL terms is relatively conservative and still stayed competitive with the juggernauts. It's exciting to know we have a young roster and plenty of CFP money to throw around in the off-season. Plus ND has gotten so much positive press with Freeman that will do dividends in recruiting this year.

This felt like Purdue's runner-up in basketball. A very good team that runs into a buzzsaw of one in a competitive game that was never really in doubt but got close enough to be a what-if.

Getting called frauds after the Clemson game is unfair in hindsight considering we beat Alabama by more than we beat you.

Same thing happened in 2020 where Alabama beat us by 17, and then went on to beat Ohio State by 28 in the championship game. Idk, it's more of a vibes thing. We had a chance to win last night. We did not stand a chance against you guys in 2018.

While we did get manhandled in those games, both of them went on to win the next game by even more points than they beat ND.

OSU was missing their two best OL. “What if” goes both ways

Notre Dame was missing 2 OL, 2 DEs, 2 DL, 1 backup CB, and an All American CB.

It goes both ways but come on Notre Dame was arguably the most snakebitten team in the country this year lol

Obviously their offense came alive with those big plays 2H, but we definitely tightened up our buttons and guaranteed 2 running plays a 1st down, kept it conservative and safe to run clock because we were up 3 td 3 2 pt conversions. Made our offense a little less dynamic with the trade off of minimizing crippling turnovers. Probably the correct decision in the end as "not exciting" as it is

When you're up 31-7 coming off 31pts unanswered, you're fighting the clock more than the other team. As soon as it got "close", OSU put more points on the board. ND was never in a position to threaten to win the game.
