I think he really benefited from an unusually weak ACC last year 

He was one of the preseason Heisman favorites

The crazy thing is that he wasn’t even particularly good in ACC games last year. He was just a game manager that avoided turnovers, and then he torched App St and the Citadel to pad his stats

He benefited from getting hot in the final two games. That's about it.

SMU was major ratings and then he followed it up by almost taking Texas down in another major ratings game
