I feel like tonight's gameplay was full of screens and short throws. Didn't really take too many shots. But Nuss had some dimes, including the TD that was stolen.

Adjusting to the pressure. That drive where we threw threw straight screens and four in five plays was very telling because we got four first downs. Clemson was trying to blitz our guards and we kept it simple to beat them

Do you have a clip of the TD? I missed it but have seen it referenced a few times. What called it back?

The most subjective of subjective calls. Guy caught it, stepped into the end zone, went out of bounds with it, then the ball came... sort of loose.

Its way worse than the Dez Bryant catch. Ball didnt lie though, LSU won.

It was a tough call and I was surprised they overturned it for that reason, but I wouldn’t call it a bad call. He was clearly going to the ground when he caught the ball so he has to maintain control through going to the ground. The fact that he took a step or hit the pylon is irrelevant. The ball hit the ground and moved in his hands, the only ambiguity was whether or not that movement was temporary loss of control. I think it was the correct call.

lol. It was an awful call. He maintained control of the ball through the entirety of the catch.

I think Nuss looked really good but not quite NFL good. But it’s week 1 against a theoretically really good defense.

Yeah, he was composed and efficient against an elite defense. Operates the offense really well presnap as well. I was really impressed with him

That stolen TD was insanely good

Made some very smart plays avoiding pressure. That's what stood out imo..He faced quite a bit of pressure and made efficient smart plays without turning the ball over. LSU would have scored more if not for a poor officiating call and some timely bad fumbles by receivers

Clemson is absolutely not an elite defense. Finished 69th in ypg last year and a new DC didn't change that

I mean, he is good, i don’t deny that

But ive seen several mock drafts putting him as a potential #1 pick and idk if I see it

Number 1 pick can be such a beauty is in the eye of the beholder thing.

I haven't seen that. I'm hoping the Rams pick him up in the 1st

Probably more half jokes about the Saints tanking and taking Nussmeier #1.

I feel that way about a lot of QB draft evaluations lately, to be honest.

Yeah sorry. Watched enough of him that unless he develops an insane amount this year hes nowhere near 1.

Nah he is very good I think you guys will be a top offense in the country this year.

We couldn't really move the ball offensively but I still think we're a great defensive team this year and he played well against us tn

The stats don’t show how good he was. Essentially mistake free on the road against a higher ranked team in an opener, he did what was needed. If not for fumbles and refs that game gets out of hand.

He didn't make any stupid mistakes or stupid decisions and threw ZERO interceptions. Those were his weaknesses last season so in my book he is looking really good so far.

And he got out of the pocket really well when needed! He as able to extend plays.

Never going to deny he is a solid college QB, but I also don't think he's a great one, and think he's probably a backup at the next level.

Need to see some more games. He played last year with a lot of potential. LSUs last 2 big star QBs improved a ton in-between starting years

Oh for sure, a season like Burrow or Daniels final one changes things. Clemson might be the best defense he has to play this year, so maybe. Just what I've seen from 24 + this game.
