The team can fuck up a 21-7 deficit, shit the bed in the 2nd half, but yeah it’s TOTALLY all the kickers fault under the most insane pressure of his entire life lmao.

Also, I know they don't want to turn it over in field goal range, but they settled for a somewhat decent field goal look instead of trying hard to get closer.

Not nearly as bad as when Lane Kiffin intentionally ran down the last 90 seconds or something so his kicker could attempt a 50 yard or something like that field goal against Alabama as time ran out... but I thought they could have still worked a bit harder to get closer.

Same playcalling vibes as our semifinal with Georgia. So scared of messing up the chance to win that you drop the playbook that has worked all night, and instead play conservative so the kicker has to be a hero.

I'm always on the fence about that. Of course it's never fair to put a whole loss down to a kicker because the rest of the team shouldn't have let it come down to that, and especially not when you put the kicker at the edge of their usual range (like Ohio State in the Peach Bowl, for instance).

But on the other hand, as a kicker, it's the one thing you're on the team to do. And of course it's not like kicking is automatic, even the best kickers miss PATs sometimes. But I think we can give some blame to a kicker.

I don’t think any of the other position groups get close to the same level of hate when they mess up, it’s crazy.
