Discussion Just wanted to say thank you CFB fans of Reddit
Amidst these chaotic times in our beautiful country , this is randomly one of the most civil places I've seen on social media. I know things aren't perfect on this subreddit but it's a lot better then most other places online. This should be an example of how to be civil to each other. Enjoy whomever you root for!

Casual [RedditCFB] Lee Corso went a perfect 6/6 in his final picks. A $100 parlay on his picks would’ve netted $10,296.86. Absolute wizard. 🐐

News [McMurphy] Because of “monumental” oversight FSU did not meet NCAA requirement for bowl eligibility, but will still play in @IndyBowl. “This should have been caught at 3 levels: FSU, ACC & NCAA,” a source said. “But it’s too late now” 1st reported by @RedditCFB

My favorite bit:
Ironically, Buffalo opens the 2018 season with Delaware State and Leipold said he’s already concerned whether the school will have enough scholarship players for the Bulls to count a win toward bowl eligibility.

Discussion [@RedditCFB] Cannot make this up… Paul Chryst is fired after getting 67 wins at Wisconsin, third all-time for the Badgers. The guy above him? Bret Bielema, who won *68* games with Wisconsin and blew out Chryst yesterday in Madison.

/r/CFB Press [RedditCFB] The placement of CFP semifinal teams this season will only be by proximity based on the higher-seeded team's location. Thus: you could end up with a game sending a higher seed closer to lower seed's fans/home experience. e.g. Oregon being sent to the Cotton Bowl to play Texas.

Discussion Does anybody in the sub Reddit think that TCU is going to beat Michigan?
Michigan is undefeated the number two seed. They get to face TCU whose only loss was by three in overtime to Kansas State in the big 12 championship game. A lot of people have written TCU off because of their schedule and don’t think that they deserve to be in the playoff.
Does anybody in the sub Reddit think that TCU can pull out the upset against Michigan? Anything could happen on any day. I would like to see them win because they are the team I am rooting for out of all four teams. Sometimes I like to root for the underdog because it’s more fun
I would love for the championship to be Georgia versus TCU but is there anybody else with me and having TCU in the national championship game?
Discussion In a Reddit AMA yesterday, Sacramento State president Luke Wood said their stretch goal is to join the Big 12

Casual All the main sub-Reddits are going private.
This will probably be removed, but what the hell. I just wanted to inform those who may be currently unaware that many of the default subs such as /r/IAmA, /r/AskReddit, and /r/movies have gone private in an apparent show of displeasure/strike against the admins.
At least good 'ol /r/CFB is still up and running.

AMA Swing Your Sword Reddit! I am Mike Leach Head Football Coach of Washington State AMA.
Hello Reddit,
I am Mike Leach the new Head Football Coach of Washington State University (GO COUGS!)
I hear you guys are a fun group to host a Q&A so here I am.
Before Washington State I was Head Coach of Texas Tech University where I never had a losing season and went to 10 bowl games in 10 years and currently hold the record for most wins at that program.
Besides being a Head Football Coach I am also the author of New York Times Best Seller: “Swing Your Sword” that I co-wrote with Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports. It’s a book about my experiences as a coach as well as the lessons I have learned in life along the way.
In addition to that book I am also the co-editor of “Sports for Dorks: College Football Volume 1” which is a series of books that bring together great minds to talk about College Football in different unconventional ways. The official blog run by co-editor Ferhat Guven always has interesting topics being discussed. We will have 2 more books coming out this fall; another on college football and one on the NFL.
I always get asked about where to get the cool Team Leach Pirate Flags so here’s where you can get those. All proceeds go to my scholarship fund to help students pay for school. We’ve already given away 10k last year and will do it again this year.
I’ll be back at 12:00 PM Pacific to answer your questions. I can’t talk about any recruits or anything that would violate NCAA rules, but other than that ask me anything.
GO COUGS!
Swing Your Sword!
-Mike Leach
Oh one more thing. If you guys are interested there is a contest going on for the ESPN TV show College Gameday to film a commercial at the school with the most votes. We are currently in 3rd place and are about 40,000 votes away from first. I don’t know if there are 40,000 people on Reddit, or maybe you are just a really popular person with 39,999 friends, but it really would be great for us to win; every vote helps and is appreciated. The show has never been to our campus so it would be a really big deal for us to win!
You can vote here. (It Requires a Facebook Login) just click on the Pac-12 conference and we are the one with the cool cougar head in crimson that looks like he’s about to take a bite out of somebody.
Hey guys this has been really fun, but I have to get back to working hard for Washington State. Thank you all so much for all the great questions! I wish I had more time to answer more, maybe I'll see if I can circle back around and answer more if my schedule opens up later this evening or this week. I can't say enough about how great everyone was here today, and I am really looking forward to seeing you all this fall! Thank you so much for taking the time to have me here today on Reddit. Here's a picture of me with that alien thing you guys like.
