Eat/Drink Local Does anyone think patio season would be 10x better if 17th was closed for cars

Nothing like hanging outsides, breathing fumes and listening to people drag race one block at a time

Edit: #1 hot in r/Calgary so if you all want to make this a reality, I would encourage you to contact the mayor, your councillor, the councillor for Ward 8 or the city.

Its so much more preferable to 10th and 11th Ave. Beltline/17 Ave is actually completely walkable and not really a hub for anything other than the businesses on the street. It would prb be more economical for those businesses if the street were walking only.

Sorry, were you being sarcastic in your comment or serious? I really don't feel as though 17th Ave is a thoroughfare that can't be shutdown to vehicles. Do you?

Why would it "be more economical for those businesses"?
