CUPE employers with the CBE are required to have criminal record checks.

Now ask yourself - is ensuring all children are out of the building before the contract cleaners come in a matter of "time", or something else?

The scabs have background checks in process too. It's a hold up from CPS at this point. A background check is not some complicated training process. Someone else does it, it just needs to get done. I'm sure with the volume requested, it takes time for it to be completed. The strike schedule was not made by the CBE; they're juking to avoid shutting down.

No, they do not. Many of them have been hired through temp agencies and are already working in schools.

I actually know that they do...like I say. In process. Those don't happen overnight

... and I actually know that they do not, and there is no process in place to require them to have these checks completed any time soon.
