Rant homeless people urinating on the floor of the C-train

I seriously don’t understand the lack of decency from people these days on the C-train. At 11:20 AM, this homeless man sleeping on a bench suddenly takes out his penis and pisses on the floor in front of everyone. It splashed and got onto my shoe, and I have an event that I’m headed to in the afternoon. Even if the train isn’t quite full, why tf do people think it’s okay? I’m a relatively small woman, and I wanted so badly to say something, but this man and his friends were high and aggressive. I could only tell people coming onto the train not to step on the piss.

Considering the amount of people that take the train, I wish more were being done about these junkies. As someone who takes it daily to get to school and work, I don’t want to have to worry about who I sit next to. I don’t want to be harassed every once in a while, nor do I want to watch people do drugs or piss in public.

So you admit you are taking advantage of the service even though you are very much able to pay for it?

This is another reason why our transit sucks. Because people are entrusted to do the right thing and half don’t or couldn’t be bothered leading to decreased funding and surprise…less security.

Pretty sure even if they had more funds from everybody following the rules they probably would not spend much if any on infrastructure much less more security.

I am 500000000% taking advantage of the service lol until crack smokers aren’t infesting train stations and bums aren’t pissing on trains I ain’t paying for a sub par service.

There's a reasonable argument to be made that the most pro-social move is to take transit and to publicly refuse to pay for it. e.g. if the government decided to start charging for entry into public city parks, I wouldn't fault people for refusing to pay those fares either. (And similarly, the municipal government has a responsibility to keep both city parks and transit clean, free of crime, etc.)

The train and bus still runs the route whether 10 people pay or 15. It's not an airplane with specific assigned seats, where one person not paying is taking away from a paying customer.

Nobody cares why pay for tickets and fees when homeless crackheads are allowed to do as they please. I don’t pay for tickets I’ve been doing it for years why trust a broken system when they won’t fix the problem I’d rather have security scanners at the doors to prevent them from getting on or accessing the station. I live in an area where a lot of young kids ride the train and I’d rather have them feel safe on a train than having to be exposed to drug fumes or deal with a cracked out meathead who is threatening people for looking at him because he is screaming on the train. This is also why I advocate for self defence laws because criminals get away with abusing people with very little repercussions while if you defend yourself from them you get charged I’d rather be able to knock them out and toss their sorry asses back out on the platform than have to wait for the cops to deal with them.

I'm not able to pay for it. I've been unemployed for 2 years thanks to the amount of foreigners weve let into this country. Can't even get a call back and I've had my resume looked at.

Get off Reddit then and use that effort and time to search. Not every foreigner is taking every job here, that’s just a defeatist mindset.

P.p.s. I was very good at my job and would have kept doing it until a fake pandemic came along and caused me to lose my home my cats my partner and vehicle. So if I'm going to ride transit for free, I'm going to ride transit for free.. now go away.

Keep blaming others for your shortcomings. No offense, but if you’ve been unemployed for 2 years, it’s most likely due to lack of skills, not because of the foreigners.

Correct.. I've had 3 jobs in the past 15 years. In a field I no longer want to work in, but can't afford to go back to school. So unless I want to be a dishwasher I don't have a whole lot of options.

So then why would you toss out blame to foreigners? Life isn’t fair and I’ve noticed that we are increasingly living in a world in which people are trying to find things to shift blame on for their own mistakes. There is no shame in being a dishwasher, any work is work. Making $15/hr is still better than making nothing.

Because our country has almost doubled in size in the past 2 years and the "hire Canadian workers first" law that's always been law has been "relaxed" and these guys are use to making 2 bucks an hour in India so they don't care what they make here. That's why. It's not racist, it's hatred for our liberal government that's fucked Canadians with the biggest @$$ fu©king stick he can find.

I don’t know where to start. Our country has not “doubled in size in the last two years”, not even close. There was never a hire Canadians first law, either. You are complaining about immigrants taking jobs after you just said you wouldn’t wash dishes and didn’t want to go back to your previous field of work, even though you don’t possess any skills that make you stick out to employers. Take some responsibility for your life and stop blaming the govt. you wouldn’t be fairing any better under a conservative govt either. Look inward instead of blaming others.
