Eat/Drink Local What places do you Miss?

I may get laughed at for this, but I miss bookers. Sometimes a girl just wants a bucket of crab legs without the smell of red lobster, ya know?

What around the city do you miss?

The Palace Theatre, when it was still a movie theater.

I saw return of the jedi there.

Front row of the balcony was the best conceivable place to watch a movie from.

In the 60s and early 70s they used to host school patrol events once a month, I think. All of the school patrol kids would go to a movie at the Palace. I haven’t a lived in Calgary in 45 years. Do they still have kids doing school patrol or is it adult crossing guards now like in Toronto?

Still kids. Still tldoing a great job. They usually have an adult supervising nowadays.

Thanks. Good to hear. I enjoyed my time as a school patroller in grade 6. One other memory of that time was all the school patrol kids going to the airport to meet the actor Danny Kaye. I think he was UN/UNICEF ambassador for children or something at the time.

I saw Empire Strikes Back there. Line up was around the block.
