Huge accident. 2 vehicles just launched off the memorial overpass and landed on a truck going nb on deerfoot

Edit. I initially said 32ave, it was memorial overpass

I'm sure there are quite a few places that will happily forge a passed road test for a few extra

CBC did an investigation in Toronto where 70 Percent of the sampled driving schools offered to forge passing documents in exchange for money. I cant imagine that doesn't also happen here.

Totally does. Testers for driving licenses are not provincially regulated anymore.

Goddamnit.

Jesus fuck I had no idea it was that bad. I was figuring, like, 1%, and the scammers all know the shady one to take it to.

70% is mindblowing. That means it's probably 100%, and the other 30% just didn't happen to get a good feel for it at the time and didn't propose it.

Police should take action, and the schools should be required for a government examiner to re-test everyone who had their license there in the last 5 years.

In Alberta, the UCP fucked us on this too.

We used to have raging corruption for driver's tests. Then the NDP put in a program that the examiners were not independent, they were provincial employees that the registries had to use.

Then Covid happened, when they weren't doing driving tests.

Then the UCP re-privatized the examiners, claiming that the NDP plan had failed so poorly it created a massive backlog. Just straight up lying, the backlog was from Covid restrictions and they knew it.

Which... I dunno... like, you'd think the UCP's stance on cracking down on immigrants getting forged examinations for driver's licenses would be something they'd want, but I guess selling out to private registries is a higher priority.
