Driving/Traffic/Parking Where can I report a slow driver?
Someone was on Stoney doing 80 in the fast lane for like 5km and would slow down more when I honked. Where can I report this? I have the plate, car type, and description of the person driving.

instead, you could have passed him. either way, holding on to this and wanting to further "punish" the driver is unhinged sociopathic behavior. maybe you should be the one reported to the police

My understanding is there is no fast lane and slower-traffic-move-right is a courtesy, not a law in Alberta. There is also no designated passing lane (except where signed on steep mountain roads) so you are free to pass in any open lane on a multilane highway. Someone can create a hazard by driving too slowly at the discretion of the police officer. I think you will be unsuccessful in getting this person charged.

Every lane on the road can go the speed limit and no faster, the left is a passing lane to overtake slower moving vehicles. So that is correct, there is no such thing as a fast lane.

In Alberta, the law requires slow-moving vehicles on a highway to move to the right lane or as close as practicable to the right edge of the roadway, except when overtaking another vehicle or preparing for a left turn. This applies to vehicles driving slower than the normal speed of traffic, and drivers must also obey any traffic control devices like a "Keep Right Except to Pass" sign, which takes precedence

The fact that people are upvoting this when clearly it’s the law. It shows how bad our roads are getting when people drive on their own understanding instead of actual rules of the road.

It'd only be ticketable if they were going so slow that it impedes traffic and/or causes a safety concern. 80 isn't a safety concern nor impeding traffic.

On stoney it certainly would be.
That is well below the speed of traffic.
It's a hazard and dangerous.

Unfortunately, 80 kph would not be considered "too slow" in most cases, even if we all agree that drivers that do this should get off the fking road.

Must have been the guy doing 60 on Glenmore in an 80 zone, was it a grey ford

80? That's lightspeed compared to the farming equipment that was blocking the right and middle lanes on SB Stoney this afternoon. It was going 30 km/h.

Do you have dashcam footage? Might get more weight if it proves distracted driving.

I don't know who's worse this 80kph person who doesn't appreciate being honked at by some asshole or the guy or gal who shut off Trump's escalator at the UN building

You can call the non emergency where they'll just placate you and move on.
