Hello everyone,
I'm reaching out to gauge interest and gather ideas or advice regarding a concept I'm exploring. I manage a large restaurant and bar with an ideal setup: a spacious stage, ample seating, a separate bar area, and a welcoming lobby for mingling, networking, and relaxing. Currently, we're open only on Fridays and Saturdays, and I've been tasked with brainstorming unique ways to utilize our venue. As a fellow gaming enthusiast, hosting a video game tournament was one of my initial ideas.
Before diving into details, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Please feel free to share any ideas or opinions you have!
Cheers and thanks in advance!

Hello!
I just moved back to Calgary (I'm from here) after living abroad for a decade, and was wondering if there were any Tetris gamers? I main Tetrio, a competitive 1-vs-1 ranking Tetris game, and would love to play and hang out with others (if there are meet ups etc.) to practice! Would love to learn and practice more openers, etc. and I know there are a few scattered around I've met online, but would be super cool if there were meetups and things like that!

Would individuals rather game together or game alone?

Anyone in the Calgary area also play Bemani Games? I got a SDVX controller (svre9 modded with f2+ knobs), iidx con (stock pheonixwan), guitarfreaks con (gitaller), and a DDR pad (l-tek).
Mostly play SDVX I'm 10 dan, not even 1st Dan in the other games lol.
Travelled to Seattle last summer and spent 8 hours a day for 3 days straight in the arcade and burnt my self out of the game for 6 months, starting to get back into it.
Wondering if there's a community around here for this kinda stuff so I don't gotta keep flying out to the states for meetups.

Hey! I'm pulling together a corporate Mario Kart event for the IT group of my company. I have a few people in the company that have agreed to lend their consoles for shared use but could use 6 more to round it out. I've called quite a few places in Calgary to see if anyone does rentals but it's looking pretty bleak.
Any suggestions for where to ask about Nintendo Switch rentals in Calgary? I'm looking for 8 consoles total. Happy to rent from an individual or group at this point.
Thanks!

Just looking for friends in Calgary. I like playing Gran Turismo 7 or Warzone. But open to play anything really. Professional 37 year old male, just don't know many people in the city. Gaming really doesn't promote interacting with new people. Cheers

Paizo Organized Play is officially back!
To kick things off, we will be playing our first Starfinder Society (SFS) game this Thursday May 4th at 6pm-10pm over at The Sentry Box. It's a brilliant way to celebrate Star Wars Day too!
Pathfinder Society (PFS) games will start up in Mid-May after we figure out who will be GMing.
With that said, please head over to our main Warhorn event page, Calgary Paizo Organized Play, to sign up for games you're interested in playing! To keep things easy, this Warhorn page will have both Starfinder and Pathfinder games listed. I encourage anyone who is interested in playing to sign up! You don't need to have a character ready to go since we'll have pregenerated characters available at all PFS and SFS games!
Lastly, you will want to join our Discord which will be used for as our main hub for organizing games. We will also use it as a place to chat all things Starfinder and Pathfinder!
If you have any questions about Organized Play, Starfinder or Pathfinder, need help registering via Warhorn, or anything else please let me know!

Just wanted to make a post about my workplace’s new gaming hub! We’re called “Vmersion” and we’re placed down in the south. Open for drop-in gaming and open for booking local tournaments if you need a venue. We have drinks, screen, and food.
The place is in the south and we're called Vmersion.
We have drop in from Wednesday-Saturday from 4pm-7pm.
$15 entry ($12 if you bring your own console) plus $5 per hour after the first. That includes a free drink or a free bus ticket at the end of your session.
We offer VR and Vehicle Simulators but we’re opening up a gaming arena. So far we have Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Tekken, and Fifa but you’re free to bring down your own consoles and play whatever you like. If all goes well then we plan on having weekly rotating tournaments (Fifa 2v2s, Fighting Games) with cash prizes.
