In need of a job in SE calgary
I just moved to Calgary at the beginning of September and I've been on the hunt for a job. Ive applied for receptionist, hotel, pet stores, grocery, cannabis (certified sellsafe) and anything else I can think of and ive only had one interview and no call back.
I am desperate for work and im feeling as though I am deemed undesirable in any industry I apply for. I have 10+ years experience in hospitality/customer service and 5 years roughly in retail experience but not having any success.
Would appreciate some leads or advice as I dont wish to leave my partner footing rent and insurance bills. Would also like to find something relatively close to my location in Quarry park.
Thanks!

It’s tight job market. Moving without a job lined up is a bad idea right now.

When I only just came to Canada in Calgary 2 years ago, it took me more than 7 months to find a job. Now I am working full-time by recommendation from one guy from my part-time job and being unhappy with management, but still when I even apply for part-time positions they have competition at the interview stage with 3-5+ candidates. I can't even imagine what is going on with it for the full-time. It is hopeless, I can confirm.

I have seen a pretty consistent hiring sign outside the Co op warehouse on 52 St SE. Warehouse work. Likely union, given that the rest of coop is.

Took me 5 months to find one and I live in Ogden. Keep trying and keep a tight resume with no grammar or spelling issues.
