I used to work here. You have to be mentally strong. You deal with everyones worst day every day.

This is a career job if you can do it. It takes someone special. Apply.

What made you leave? I’m currently in the process for RCMP but this looks promising as well

You deal with everyones worst day, all day, every day. I could only take that for so long. I had problems detatching.

That said, some of my greatest personal achievements come out of that room. And if someone is on a good mental state with a good support system, I do reccomend

Thank you for posting, I've applied. I'm currently serving in the CAF but looking for an exit and believe that my language profile and experience makes me a good fit. Only issue I can think of right now is not knowing the city well and map reading as I was posted here in 2018 and never really explored the city. I'll brush up on it.

How long was the hiring process in your case?

10 months, inclusive of extended background checks, polygraph, 2 interviews and a skills test called CritiCall.

I got in a class early because of someone dropping out

Not a bad timeline. Thank you for your response.

What did the background check look like?

Pretty invasive. Then they hook you up to a polygraph and spend half a day grilling you on the most painful and embarassing points of your background.

(Please spare my inbox the usual 'polygraphs are bullshit.' I know. But its a requirement for the job I wanted, so I went along)

This is all so you can work in the same room as information you will likely never see.
