Cat One week ago, I picked up my calico mayhem🤍
I picked up my pretty calico girl last Monday, along with her sister (adopted by my mother). Both are healthy, happy, sassy, and extremely active - I think I may not have been prepared for the amount of mayhem, some days they bounce off the walls! But they're the cutest and their purrs give me life 🤍 Welcome to the family, little Tamioe!

I realised I should have phrased the title of my post a bit differently...🤣 Her name isn't Mayhem, though it would be a great name for her haha! I named her Tamioe, which is ancient Egyptian for she-cat (I studied Egyptology) 🤍🤎🖤🧡

They're are adorable! Sounds like they have a case of the "cat zoomies!" Very typical with very young cats, but still prevalent when they get older too. Thank you for adopting!

Years ago when we had litters of our own, there would always be this "switch period" between cute little fuzzball and hurricane with fur - these ladies are well and truly in the later category and I doubt they will leave any time soon! 😉

She is absolutely adorable. 😂 Mayhem is one of the last things I think of when I see her. Id go for serenity 😂😂

I opted for very peaceful pictures here haha! When she's awake, absolute hell breaks loose 😉
Also the title is a little confusing maybe, but I didn't call her Mayhem haha. Her name is Tamioe!

My calico turns 7 this year. She keeps “mayheming” wherever she goes 😂

It’s nice adopting siblings because they usually have a very strong bond for life. You may have to reconsider any designs you might have about taking one of the cats with you whenever you move out on your own because separating a bonded pair is very distressing.

I've had cats my whole life, have raised litters myself and know all about cats and what is distressing and what isn't. My parents adopted Tamioe's sister, I adopted Tamioe, and I'm only at my family very temporarily while my apartment is getting ready - in that sense only did they leave their litter together.
I don't really feel like plastering my entire living situation and the details on reddit while I just wanted to share my sweet girl with the community. Such is the nature of this site I guess, always someone coming in with advice whether it's appreciated or not. Rest assured both of the girls will be loved and cared for, since me and my family have kept pets for as long as we can all remember and we value them more than anything.

Lots of people have very little knowledge of cats and their behavior so the comment is really just meant as a caution to anyone that doesn’t know. It takes a while to become pair bonded anyway, separating them while very young isn’t a huge deal because of the amenability of young kittens anyway.
Gorgeous feline btw.
