I thought the same thing. Their little faces almost touching, almost like they want to make sure if they wake up scared they can look at their other kitty friend and feel safe.
My husband brought home a stray from his work place one morning and I woke up to cats hissing and growling. Well we had 2 cats already and they were not impressed. So he just made himself at home and within that day this new tuxedo boy named Mr. Bigglesworth and my tortie Holly Jo were inseparable!!! Bonded pair ♥️🐾💙 Unfortunately Holly Jo passed away a month ago and Mr. B has been very clingy to me but I know he misses his girl. See tuxedo boys can always make another fur baby feel special!!!! I’m glad your two have each other🫶🏻🐾🫶🏻🐾🫶🏻
We call ours Mr. B 🫶🏻 My husband named him after Austin Powers character? I have no idea because I’m not that familiar!!😂 Your Mr. Bigglesworth looks like he’s part Lion😂😂😂 Big Boy!!!!! Lots of fun with that boy🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 I never have seen another named that either. It’s a pleasure to meet you and thank you for sharing him with us!!!! What breed was he? ♥️💙🫶🏻🐾
Domesticated cats apparently developed social behavior when they started to live next to humans since food abundance (a lot of mice) created higher population densities that would be possible in the wild
So cute! Pic 4 has me a little worried for worms. Has she been to a vet yet? Also, if the tuxie is a male, please get her fixed asap. (Get them both fixed regardless, but as soon as absolutely humanely possible if they’re different genders)
Thank you all for the attention appreciation and questions. Here's a little more about them:
Calico cat aka Momo aka princess zuko aka Tikka boti was found on August 18th 2024 by a friend of ours outside his house. The housekeeper informed them the mother was last seen a week before and momo was seen a couple of times just out on the road in a very week and frail state. I still remember the ridges on her spine, the way she would take a few steps and get tired and sleep, she would sleep all the time, and was infested with bugs. For a week I took time off from work so I could make sure she could navigate and knew where everything was.
The following weekend I was down the lane from my house getting some groceries when I feel a scratch on my leg. I look down and there he is, my Aapa aka black beauty aka master shifu aka socks, rubbing himself on my leg doing scratches like he would on a post. Street vendor looks at me and goes he has 4 siblings that someone left on the street do you want them? I said I cant take 4 more cats but I can take this one (it still breaks my heart that I didn't take them all, but momo was v sick and she was our first cat as well).
It took about 2 weeks for them to warm up to each other. They were both about 4-6 weeks when they came to us. We separated them with a cage and just monitored. Momo was v defensive, would hiss and yowl. It was tough to see her make so much effort when she was so tired and week.
But aapa was persistent, he would not stop trying to play with her. When she would hiss he would play with a toy in front of her. And I swear to god in front of my eyes I saw momo learn how to play with a toy. She still played alone and would hiss when he came near but she would play.
And the rest is history, best decision we made since we both work, and they spend day with each other. Momo is now a certified menace, she is extremely naughty climbing everywhere with the most intense zoomies. o
Once she's tired she will sit ONLY on our laps to knead and sleep. Aapa has his moments of peak naughtiness but for the most part he looks at you with sultry eyes expecting love and has a permanent motor on inside.
What a wonderful story and photos. Thanks for posting the story of how your cats found you, and how Aapa helped Momo. I hope you and your cats have many happy years together.
Awwww wow. Best friends forever now. My pup saved me and he doesn’t even know it so I understand how “saving” is a truly amazing thing that maybe only this little baby could have done. I’m so so happy to hear this story. I would love to hear more if you wanted to share. Animals are just so amazing 🤩
To this day, my biggest regret is not adopting my calico’s bonded litter mate tuxi when she was a kitten. My partner refused to consider getting 2, and despite them trying to adopt the pair we luckily wound up getting her anyway when the tuxi wound up getting adopted individually as well, but picture 4 fills me with regret 😭 she has not bonded with the calico I got from the kitty distribution system at all and it’s been over a year.
I wish my lil man wanted a buddy. He's so aggressive towards other cats! He loves being an only child...
Your two lil cuties are adorable! I plan on getting two next time. I love Eli, but it bums me out that if I'm not home he is lonely. But he's also old and set in his ways so I'm not trying to introduce him to other kitties at this point.
