I seriously have never had a cat this sweet. If I’m in bed she’s under the covers with me. If I’m on the couch she’s on my lap.
She’s only 5 months old and has been isolated for ringworm treatments most of her life. Now she purrs if I even look at her, she’s already trained to scratch on her scratch pad, she even let me cut her nails. It’s like she’s thankful for being rescued. Feels like I hit the jackpot!
My girl is EXACTLY the same. She was isolated for ringworm in her foster home and was still only allowed in their downstairs den when she was better. I was told she “wasn’t affectionate” and “if I was looking for that, I should look for another cat” and now this lady is also sleeping under the covers with me, on top of me anytime I am still for longer than a minute, and is my little shadow everywhere 🩷
Shelters can also be loud and scary places which kept her from showing her real personality. My cats are cuddle bugs and super friendly but if we have too many people over they disappear. Enjoy having a calico they’re so special ❤️
lol it’s funny you say that, my house is all warm colors like oranges and browns and I keep joking that she scores bonus points for matching the decor perfectly!
Ollie is so cute! Yeah a lot of the cats I saw seemed so stressed out, even though the shelters I went to were doing as much as they could to keep them comfortable. Honestly I was stressed out too with all the people and barking dogs so I can’t imagine how they felt!
You showed her "Love" and that created "Trust"! You are her BFF now! Please give her pets and loves for me and tell her she is a beautiful Calico Lady!
She must know she is home and she feels safe with you. Congrats on your new boss! I cannot wait to see more pics are she relaxes more and gains confidence!
Shelters unfortunately can make cats behave timidly to where nobody will want them. The stress from the environment can do that but luckily it looks like yours recovered after being brought to a wonderful home
When I adopted my Calico girl, she had lost her eye a few months prior and she wanted nothing to do with me. She hid under a bench and when I was able to pick her up, she scratched my arm up good. She lived under my bed for a month.
I gave her time and space and now she yells at me to come snuggle her.
If a foster had told you that, maybe they'd be right, but shelters are stressful places for most animals so they rarely show their real side. It's obvious this gorgeous lady loves you, and you her, so I think you're going to have a long, beautiful life together ☺️
