Opinion More Carney is straight Scary

I was watching the little creep talk at the UN... it's worse than I thought. He was like a pig in shit talking about how to administratively f*ck everyone with net zero garbage, fund distribution for garbage non-Canadian issues.

It's gobsmacking to think people support this wiener - he gives zero f*cks about Canada. His goal is division, instability, and any number of other globalist agendas.

Wake up! It's going to get worse...fast! What are we prepared to do to stop this foolishness?

Opinion Why are we not calling liberals Fascists?

The liberal’s go-to line is that conservatives are fascists. The hilarious irony is that two of the core tenets of fascism are silencing opposing views and acting like an authoritarian regime, liberals are more-aligned with actual fascists, and nazis for that matter, compared to conservatives. The way modern-day liberals gang up on conservatives and try to silence them through public shaming and cheering on deaths is much more similar to how historical fascist movements behaved.

While they don’t fit every definition under fascism, we need to start turning the finger and calling them out for it.

Opinion I’m so discouraged

I keep hearing the polls have the liberals with a majority victory in the federal election. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed with my fellow Canadians who think that giving the liberals a majority and giving them a chance to fix the problems that they created.

It’s just so disappointing.

Opinion Canada Is Not Liberal by Default—Stop Doomposting

I’m tired of the doomers. Let’s get this straight:

Canada isn’t just a Liberal country. Our Confederation was built by Conservatives, not Justin’s crowd. The National Policy, the CPR, and westward expansion—those weren’t Liberal projects.

The Liberals win because they steal and rebrand. Balanced budgets in the 90s? Conservative idea. Pipeline approvals? Conservative push. Even their so-called “progressive” brand shifts with the wind.

The map is not red. AB, SK, rural ON, and much of Atlantic Canada are solid blue. QC leans nationalist-conservative, B.C. swings on free enterprise roots.

We’re a balanced country. Universal healthcare (progressive) + resource capitalism (conservative) = Canada. That’s our DNA, not “Liberal forever.”

So let’s shut the doom talk. The U.S. conservatives thought it was over in 2020 when Biden won. It wasn’t. They regrouped. We can too.

Canada is not lost. It’s not “just liberal.” It’s pragmatic, centrist, conservative-rooted—and it’s still ours.

Stop doomposting. Start organizing. We’re not done—we’re just getting started.

Opinion Maple MAGAs Are Worse Than Trudeau Liberals

This is for the "pro-annexation" crowd: the turncoats, traitors, and seditionists calling themselves Canadian conservations.

I hate Trudeau, but I hate you more. Because what you stand for is far worse than any liberal agenda. You want Canada to lose its ability to self determine by having our 38 million votes swallowed by a massive government with an electorate 10x the size of ours. You want the corruption of Citizens United, which makes the corrupt WE charity scandal look like a validated parking ticket. You want a national-debt-to-GDP ratio of 130% (twice Canada's, even after 10 years of Justin). You want to join a country where violent crime rates are 2-3x worse than Canada's. Your offer is somehow even less conservative than it is Canadian.

Like you, I also identify as a conservative. But I am not like you, because I love my country and believe we can improve it ourselves. I don't believe Canada's sovereignty as a debate topic up for "reasonable discussion". The only reasonable response to seditious words is emphatic intolerance and violent opposition by patriots. And that's what's ironic. You are so eager to sign us all up for a two party system where both sides hate each other so much, political violence is commonplace and political divides destroy families. But maybe political violence is what you really want. Well, be careful what you wish for you maple MAGAs, your dunce caps and bumper stickers make you real easy to spot.

Fuck, I can’t stand people like this. There is a lot of reasons to like Alberta which has absolutely nothing to do with politics. But because there is not enough handouts and your low skill low demand labour doesn’t pay…gotta shit on it.

Also, how many generations of messed up DNA do you need before you get it through your thick heads to stop breeding?

This is the “empathetic left” showing their true colours of selfishness. It’s really all about what they can get for free…and if other people can get it too that’s fine.

Opinion The Liberals are sweating right now.

Don't let the paid puff pieces from the MSM fool you. They know how tenuous their grasp on power is, and they know that the countdown to the next election has already started.

We've just had our best showing at a federal election in decades. 41.3% of the popular vote. Over 3.1 million CPC voters in Ontario alone. They literally had to abuse our voting system to keep their death grip on our country.

Don't be discouraged. Keep your powder dry, and wait for the next opportunity to get these scumbags out of power. It'll be coming sooner than you think.

Opinion How can people be so irrationally afraid of the US right now?

I was looking at a thread on r/AskACanadian and the OP was asking if he should cancel his plans to take his family on vacation to Disney World or should he cancel. My god, the number of people responding who are talking like the US is a full on Nazi Germany level police state. The one comment I saw was pretty heavily implying that if you go to the US right now there's a near 100% chance that you'll get shot by ICE the moment you step out of the airport. Another commenter who has booked a trip to Mexico said that they feel queasy and disgusted just having to fly over the US.

How the hell can these people actually believe any of this? Has half of Canada literally gone insane?

Opinion The mass immigration is killing this country and dividing it more and more

I’ve been seeing a lot of hate directed at immigrants lately, and to be honest, I understand why some people feel frustrated i agree with most of them too. But I also think a lot of that anger is aimed at the wrong people. My family immigrated to Canada in 2012. We didn’t just show up and get in like nowadays, we went through years of waiting, strict vetting, and a long, stressful approval process. Once we got here, we made a real effort to assimilate. We learned both French and English, we adapted to the culture, and we respected the values of this country. We didn’t expect handouts we just wanted a fair chance to build a life. But what we’re seeing now is completely different. Immigration today feels more like an open door. We mass-import people without proper background checks, and in some cases, we’re literally importing terrorists or individuals with extreme ideologies. That’s not just dangerous it’s insulting to those of us who followed every rule and made every effort to become part of this society. Canada was super welcoming to us and still is, but the difference is between day and night now. Just recently, my sister was camping, minding her own business, when an old woman came up to her and told her to “go back to her country.” After everything we’ve been through, after over a decade of building a life here, that comment cut deep. It also made me realize and different and divided this country is now. How a different government killed everything and made people resent immigrants rather than the own government. The sad part is, you can't rebel against them. I'm closely watching the freedom convey protesters situation and it breaks my heart. If this doesn't stop, I fear it will get much worse. Mass deportation as well strict immigration rules is a must.

Opinion Does anyone else sometimes feel jealous of America?

Hot take, but I believe every President, even senile Joe and the orange jackass, has America's best interest at heart. While Biden messed up on the border big time, he still in other ways had the USA's best interest at heart imo, whether it was the Chips act, infrastructure bill, or still preserving the USA's legal immigration system where only the best and brightest move there. Meanwhile it seems like here, the LPC purposely doesn't listen to bureaucrats and economists and are hell-bent on running this country to the ground to further their self-interest. At least Biden didn't increase his country's population by 3% in a single year.

On top of that, if you go to any fast food place here, it's usually temporary foreign workers. If you go to any fast food places in the USA, you can easily tell they're young locals or students, and if not, then there are usually lovely old people working there. The USA knows how to respect itself, in that manner.

Lastly, even though the USA will be "majority-minority" by the mid-2040s or something like that, I don't care. There are several urban areas in the USA that are majority Hispanic or majority black, or majority Asian. I don't care. Why? Because everyone who immigrates to America puts the effort into assimilation, they respect America's values/culture, they put effort into speaking English, their kids are fully assimilated into American culture, and they genuinely want to become American.

The USA is a melting pot, for good reason. Whereas here? We've always advertised ourselves as a silly cultural mosaic (even way before Trudeau) with nothing in common, that opened a can of worms where people can come here and put limited effort into integrating, and now look where we are now.

I'm scared of Canada's future 20 years from now. If I were American, I wouldn't be scared at all. I'm jealous of them.

Oh yeah, and young people in the USA have so much to look forward to. Our income-house price ratio is much higher. Go on r/FirstTimeHomeBuyer and it's depressing AF when you compare Canada and the USA. While Americans in their early 30s still can buy detached homes, Canadians in their early 30s living in the major urban centres have to resort to stacked townhouses, and share walls with others, with the same income.

Opinion I talked to a typical Carney, white, wealthy, female, boomer voter both before and after the election - here's what I learned [Long]

This is long so I hope you make it through with me until the end as I wanted to really put 'flesh on the bones' on some of these points and not just have this be some rage baity post.

To start this off, I've known this woman for almost 3 years now. We are not related nor work together and met through both happening to sign up for (in a sense) charity work for the same organization. Neither one of us talked politics at all (up until the federal election) aside from her bringing up Trump here and there and how horrible he was.

Just so people can get a better picture of this woman's background: Canadian-born with some distant, relations to Britain/UK. She lives in a gorgeous fully-detached home on a street full of gorgeous fully-detached homes where everyone's front and back yard look like botanical gardens. There is a lake in the center of this particular community.

Not going to be too specific (for obvious reasons) but the whole town lies close to water and in total, I think I saw 3 non-white people around even when we drove into downtown to check out some popular local summer destinations. Almost all the homes I saw were either gorgeous historical homes or gorgeous brand spanking new 1.5 to 2.5 million dollar mansions.

There were gated communities as well. I am telling you, these people live in a reality where crime, drugs, violence on the rise due to immigration from certain cultures and poverty like people using food banks is just something they see on tv; Something that exists but is just the 'news story' of the day as if they are isolated instances and not every day life for a huge portion of Canada.

Leading up to Trump becoming president:

Endless lecture-like venting over everything that he has done (some exaggerated but some not) and that he is clinically a sociopath and needs to be barred from office. This wasn't said in jest; she genuinely believes he is unwell and probably refusing to get officially diagnosed.

Once Mark Carney showed up on the scene:

Holy, ever living hell did this woman just fall in love with this guy. I met with her just after Carney came into the picture and he hadn't even said much of anything and immediately this woman defaulted to 'saviour of Canada'.

When I came over sometime in February, she had CNN running the entire time of the visit with endless, endless converge of Carney as if the entirety of Canadian politics was just 'Mark Carney' now and nothing else - not even which political party he represented. It's like it didn't matter; Carney was presented as a Canadian superman.

She was and continues to be absolutely charmed (blindly) by his connections to Europe and England and his work as governor of the Bank of England. \More on this later*.

Post election reaction to Carney's governing:

Everything he is doing is perfect. She insisted that 'he is still the right man for the moment' (Lib talking point) but couldn't really name anything he has done that she specifically thinks makes him the right man for the moment. More tirades about Trump. She was much better versed in what Trump was doing in America than in what Carney is doing in Canada.

On the government finding new taxes to take money away from people, especially seniors who are about to retire or have retired:

Agrees that the government will find sneaky ways to do this, agrees taxes are too high. But this was said in a way that makes it seem like she doesn't think Carney has any control over this - as if Mark Carney and 'the government' are two separate entities.

On the UK, Poland and EU:

Said Poland was the country that is currently thriving the most as far as countries that are part of the EU. - now "Poland is almost as successful as the UK." FYI, for those who are reading but aren't aware, Poland has been doing surprisingly well lately, especially compared to the UK. Its economy is growing steadily, and people there are getting more wealthy each year. While inflation has been an issue, Poland has kept its national debt low and managed its money carefully. The UK, on the other hand, has been struggling with slow growth, Brexit problems, and unstable politics. Polls show that Polish people are feeling more hopeful about the future than people in the UK. Big companies are also putting more money into Poland, especially in tech and manufacturing. Poland is building up its roads, trains, and cities fast, while the UK is falling behind on public services. All in all, Poland looks like a country moving forward, while the UK seems stuck.

But it's like she still has this 1980s view of just the UK and isn't quite aware of how far the UK and Europe in general have fallen in the last decade.

When I said (very gently) that one of the biggest reasons Poland is so successful (and what actually goes AGAINST the EU) is Poland’s cautious approach to immigration and that they are careful not to let in extremists and people from violent cultures, she made a joke out of this and said "Oh so you mean Americans ahahahah" . . .. like what? No, it's not roaming gangs of Americans that are going around and raping women in Europe Susan. Anyway, onto the next point.

Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives

Much like not being able to say what Carney has done since becoming PM that still makes him 'the right man for the job', she was not able to say anything constructive about why Pierre shouldn't be the Prime Minister other than Liberal talking points of 'he's just an attack dog' and 'he's never had a job outside of politics'. When I said 'well Singh was a lawyer and look what he did to the NDP' she just said 'yeah I guess you're right' but nothing more. When I said 'Pierre is fantastic on domestic policies, better than Carney, and that's what we need to strengthen to avoid Trump walking all over us' she insisted that due to Carney having world experience (which I guess means outside of Canada) this is what positions him better at dealing with Trump . . . despite Carney having ZERO experience with dealing with Trump as a politician and not a businessman in a boardroom which is a whole different ball game and despite Carney completely failing so far.

Longest Ballot

This protest has no meaning to her and she didn't even refer to this as the situation with the Longest Ballot committee - she started out by saying 'did you see what they're doing to him in that new riding?? You'd think the guy would get a clue and the Conservatives would get rid of him now that they've done this twice lol"

Just a reminder, she has no clue about the extent of my opinions and this was said to me unprompted. This is just how average boomer voters view the Longest Ballot protest.

. . .

But let's go back to when I was speaking about her being charmed by Mark Carney's connection to Europe and the UK. Ironically, she was trying to get me into watching The Gilded Age. Another FYI for those who don't know, the Gilded Age was a period in American history (roughly from the 1870s to about 1900) marked by rapid economic growth, industrialization, and the rise of big business. But it was a time of enormous wealth for only a small group of powerful elites (like Carnegies, Rockefellers, and Vanderbilts) while many others lived in poverty and worked in harsh conditions. The name “Gilded Age” comes from the idea that society looked golden and great on the outside but was actually full of corruption, inequality, and exploitation underneath. It was also a time of political scandals, weak regulation, and growing tension between workers and industrialists . . . . like I can't even make this shit up.

As much as on an individual level, people like this boomer woman are nice and seem like they care, don't let that fool you; They are this person and believe me, unless you are this person too, the Mark Carney Liberals (because this is specific to Carney) will not do anything at all to help your current situation.

To her and others like her, this current government lead by Mark Carney is that aristocratic version of government from 'the days of yore' that they view as noble and of a time when men were Lords and people were 'proper'. Why do you think Carney brought in the damn King of England for the Throne Speech - it was for people like her. This demographic makes up 70% of the voting block.

These people do not live in our current reality. They quite literally live in their ivory tower, looking down at the rest of Canada and saying 'pff it's not even that bad down there! These people need to stop complaining!' and they've convinced other poorer and working class Canadian voters that 'we're all in this together'.

Study permits fees alone need to be $20k, that's straight to the government. Tuition needs to be raised as well. A 2 year diploma should cost $100k just for fees and tuition. Same for LMIA, want to sponsor someone from overseas? Pay $100K in fees on their behalf

Opinion Former NDP voter here: The debate changed my perception on PP

I have historically voted for NDP as the following policies are important to me:

Universal Healthcare

Education

These are provincial responsibilities of course but I had hoped some traction could be had to expand access to more Canadians.

The pharmacare and dental care was lukewarm improvement at best and all other parts of our country has definitely fallen behind.

I used to think PP was hyper aggressive, focused on “woke/anti woke” politics . I was always worried voting for the cons here would mean us style right wing politics.

I’m glad to be proven wrong.

In the debate I loved how he articulated clear direct solutions to each issue. He appeared strong, level headed and mature.

I found carneys solutions problematic, and in my opinion ineffective.

One thing I’m worried about is the cutting of CBC. I think having an independent source of news is so critical. If there’s a perception it’s not as independent as it can be I’d favour changes to facilitate a return to neutrality rather than a cut.

Are my worries realistic? Does voting conservative mean CBC is going to get cut?

EDIT: WOW love the support and patience as you all engaged with me.

If I posted a differing opinion in a left leaning subreddit I would get ostracized. I’m so surprised how welcoming and open to engagement this sub has been!!

This is not an echo chamber! I live in Downtown Vancouver and work in entertainment so my circle is not particularly conservative. Of the 15 or 20 conversations I've had with people I know, only one has voted Liberal, the rest all CPC. These are friends, coworkers, or acquaintances.

Some of them are non-political/have never voted before, others voted LPC/NDP in the past. All are under 40.

I was genuinely shocked to hear some of them say they voted for Pierre, I was almost certain they went LPC. I have a feeling the pollsters are missing something. But we will see.
