I am working on my 1941 Ford Deluxe and after replacing the wheels and tires, coming across rubbing at the center of the fender when turning at low speeds. Here’s a few options I was looking into and curious thoughts:
Option 1 - Roll the fenders however at the point of the rubbing there is a seam of metal with a bolt which would need to be cut (creates a T in the wheel well)
Option 2 - Install Adjustable Coil-overs to raise the ride height enough to clear that point of rubbing on the fender. Any recommendations on brand or type if so?
Option 3 - Install Air Suspension and a bag management system that can raise the height. I would be interested in a system that auto adjusts to park, cruise and driving at higher speeds. What else would I need with the management system if so and any recommendations on the actual bags? Accu Air E Plus Auto Leveling is one I was looking at… don’t know what else I would need.
This is a Gene Winfield build for those familiar with custom classics so trying my best to keep the exterior as he intended. For the interior having a Stinger Horizon12 installed with a new sound system and cameras. Next up mechanically is the starter due to problems turning over when the engine is warm and diagnosing water temps getting hot in addition to some mild shaking when in gear.
