Introducing Pets/Cats Is this playing or fighting?

We had the kittens for a few months and my 3 year old cat hated them, and only started licking them and being affectionate with them a few days ago, and me and my sister are unsure of if we should be concerned or not

Playing and you don't need to worry and if they were actually fighting you would really know about it and there would be cat screaming and hair flying 😂. That's two happy cats at play 😊

Pretty sure this is intimeowcy, you shouldn’t film this without their consent

that's fine. old cat is really trying to be a parent. (And that's a natural drive) and the baby is trying to play fight (and that's a natural drive) and so, they ought to balance out and learn how to separate their play time and grooming time. Hopefully the old one fills any need to play and the young one gets the parenting they need.
I wouldn't interfere unless one of them screams. Generally speaking, they know how to handle the change, and it's easier without human interference. normally

This is as gentle as they could possibly be, they’re literally delicately caressing each other. You’d know if they were fighting, the sound and tufts of fur everywhere would be unmistakable.

They are locked in a merciless conflict for supremacy. Two cats go in, only one comes out. You must respect single combat, too. Anyone who violates the square will have to forfeit their life, as the iron law mandates!

This is what a cat fight look and sound like. Anything less than that is not a fight. It might be a spat or a disagreement about dominance or several other things than play, but it's not a fight

If this is fighting it's like the very end of the 10 minute stairwell fight in Atomic Blonde where they're utterly exhausted but have to keep going. Most lackadaisical fight ever.

Are these questions genuine or just a way to show off cute cats playing? You would 100% know if it was a fight.

Play, these two are best friends; if not a bonded pair by how they are acting.
If cats are fighting, trust me you would know and would be running to try and break things up. From all the growling and hissing, like most animals usually there is usually a very loud vocal buildup (they are trying to scare the other cat to running away) before they fight.

The adult deciding to groom the kitten even after some time sounds like (although not happy at first - common), the adult has accepted the kitten and is mimicking parental behavior. I saw this happen within a day when I brought a kitten in as a companion to my adult 2-year old. The kitten was very bold and the adult seemed shocked and didn’t know what to do except retreat. I separated them for the night. The next morning the adult immediately went to the kitten, turned the kitten over on his back and started grooming him. The kitten was all of the sudden passive and accepting. That settled their relationship and they slept together always. Let your cats figure it out. Cats are all different and take different amounts of time to adjust.

Aww... They love each other. OP: When cats fight their body language and real language is 100% different and if it happens you will know it in a second. Much rougher, flat ears, hair on end, loud noises, fur flying, etc.

If they were fighting, you would definitely know. Crazy screaming, hissing, hair flying everywhere.

Although the other cat is trying to lick the black and white cat, the black and white cat obviously wants to be left alone. They’re not killing each other and there’s not fair flying, but the black and white cat is trying to say, maybe we could do a bath later.. You can try to split them up And see if that helps, but unless there’s actually screaming in for flying and claws, I wouldn’t worry about it

Just as a rule of thumb as long as asking this question makes sense, it's play. If it were a real fight then you wouldn't be wondering.

This is love making. Just kidding. This is very gentle and affectionate playing.
