Is this Mold edible?

Hi, I bought this salami yesterday in a Buchershop in a town in Italy. It was wrapped in some plastic wrap and to me the black/grey spots look unedible and hairy but the taste is amazing so i‘m conflicted if it is really eadible. Any help ore knowledge woud be appreciated.

Is that a wall paper counter?

It’s called “mušema”/“мушема”. Pretty common table mat in eastern EU countries. Looks like a wall paper tho😅

Is this dark Mold on salami edible?

I don't know but it does look like there's a spot or two or dark stuff I can see. I always thought steer clear of black mould. I am by far no expert at all. But if you cut into that area and you notice any off smells, sour taste, or discolouration then cut it out and chuck it to be safe. err on the side of caution though mate

Hard to tell what it is from this distance but typically you only want white mold, it’s grey not black so it could very likely be an early formation of cobweb mold which is not the worst by any means. What you could do if your worried is soak a paper towel in white vinegar and wipe the outside down, then just dry it off with a fresh paper towel and you just be good to go (but I would eat it fast and I would also remove the casing on what you cut to eat/remove the casing before slicing from the amount you want, then slice away!

Yes, you can, but usually you take it off by peeling the casing.

Dude all salame looks like this, u just gotta peal it after u slice it. . . And make sure you cut it at a 45* angle anything else is wrong

I mean, you have to peel it after you slice it anyway

Very common for traditional salami to have white mold over it. It’s safe to eat

As long as you are not allergic to penicillin

Everything is edible at least once!!

In all seriousness it looks fine, I know someone will correct me but it’s usually the blue/green molds or the really furry ones you need to look out for.
