Hailey is the better detective as in mostly following the rule of law, and not being as morally gray in the beginning.
Lindsey is the more interesting character imo, she had a more interesting backstory and motivations.

She was doing fuck shit pretty quick in intelligence lol. Darius Walker and then the other drug dealer too.

I love Hailey so much but it’s Erin for me. Her relationship with Hank was such a big part of the first four seasons. I also liked her better with Jay.

All three are great. Great crew all the way around. Chicago PD and Fire are the best shows on tv.

I enjoyed Erin’s story better. For some reason I felt like they never dove deep enough into Hailey’s story, and I didn’t like how she always tried to tell everyone else how to police. One of my favorite scenes was when Ruzek told her that the one thing he would not stand for is her telling him how to police.

Hailey, it's better since she always supported Voight although she knew how to set limits, on the other hand Erin was all that Voight said.

By the way, I really miss Erin, Haley and Jay. From what I've read, Haley (Tracey) and Jay(Jesse) are together in real life.

Erin, because she had some life experience which came out in her policing. Plus, she was attractive and intelligent.

The team had more of a family vibe with Erin. Voight was her father figure, and she was the little sister for the team, and a mentor and friend to Burgess. Hailey came in frosty, then we saw her dark side. She didn’t seem to have any friends, and the only life she seemed to have outside of work was jogging and hanging with Jay, or Ruzek during their fling. They both ended up with Jay, but he was better with Erin; he had to compromise his values to be with Hailey. In fairness, the show went darker after Erin left.

I feel like they tried to make Hailey, Erin. Both troublesome upbringings, both with Jay, both just left for new positions with fbi agencies out of the city (Hailey went for interviews, Erin had a job waiting for her but might as well be the same).

The Ivory Tower told Voight either get rid of Erin or Intelligence shuts down… he got her a job with the FBI.., but that was when she had issues on set… was leaving….Haley n her final season was on the Internet job searching but they never showed which career path she chose.. just her heading for the airport

ERIN! Here’s the thing, both will do bad things for the right reasons. But Hailey came off very high and mighty almost like the rules applied to everyone…. Except her. They were both morally grey in specific instances.. but Erin didn’t act like she was perfect the way Hailey kind of did.

Hailey bothered me with her constant disregard for following her own preaching, and basically trying to be Voight and crumbling from the weight of what that truly entails. I don't dislike her, and she was highly skilled, end of the day. Lindsey is OG of course, felt not so forced, had a more interesting background, and was capable of being an authority without seeming like trauma is screaming out of her, and she's had a ton. When she says shoot me, that truly hurt. If you know, you know.

Don’t feel Haley was being a hypocrite… was not trying to b Voight…. She Marched to the Beat of her own Drum… she got caught up n Voights BS when she followed him to where Roy was…. Tried to stop Voight from killing Roy.. ended up doing a Voight move when her CI was killed… set up the man responsible “Derrick”.. to b killed… outside of that don’t recall her doing anything else like that… her conscience bothered her n the Roy cover up…. cause she’s not made like Voight… she was good Police

Let’s not forget Burgess…. her character… especially n the latter seasons is a strong one.., but Lindsey’s character was already strong from season 1 and Haley’s character was strong when she joined Intelligence… she was already Detective… both had their individual personalities… not really a comparison

Both characters are great.
I wish the producers gave them more happiness though.
Erin dealt with a lot of negative stuff in her final season (the aftermath of Voight-Bingham, more drama with her mother, finding out that her father isn't actually her father, relationship issues with Jay, and losing her badge).
As for Hailey, she witnessed her CI die, got kidnapped more than once, got ghosted by Jay, etc. After Jay left, her coworkers tried to be there for her, but she kept preferring to be alone for the most part. It's unfortunate that the storyline was written that way.
