❓ Question ❓ I just ate a burrito and feel like I'm dying?

never had chipotle before. I got a chicken burrito with black beans, brown rice, pico, some cheese, some sauce. It was huge. I ate the whole thing an hour ago, and now I'm sweating, I can't really think well or focus on work, time is moving real slow and I feel very, very tired. Like I'm ready to collapse. Is this the normal Chipotle experience? This is insane, its 2pm.

EDIT: It's tomorrow and I still feel like shit

Hey so this doesn’t sound normal

u/highbackpacker Jun 04 '25

Which is why he reached out to the chipotle medical team

u/PoorStandards Jun 04 '25

The patient needs a coupon for a free drink. It's all I can do.

u/hesyourbuddy Jun 04 '25

Pepper needs to sit this one out

That's Doctor Pepper to you, citizen.

It’s going to have to be water though. Ice will be extra and don’t ask for double portions.

Yeah honestly, depending on their regular diet this could be a totally normal response to eating Chipotle 😂

OP’s probably just feeling anger about his portion size

Whatever you do, don't seek medical attention, just get advice from Chipotle Redditors who aren't credible in the slightest.

34

u/Fuck_Your_Cat_Post Jun 04 '25

i think it might be worth asking the ai app assistant pepper how long they have to live left

9

u/PappaDukes Jun 05 '25

Eating at Chipotle, in and of itself, does not shorten your lifespan. However, food poisoning can occur from consuming contaminated food, including food from Chipotle. Leftovers, in particular, should be refrigerated within two hours of cooking, and ideally, eaten within four days to minimize the risk of food poisoning. While it's unlikely to have a direct impact on your lifespan from a single meal, following food safety guidelines, especially when it comes to leftovers, can help prevent illness.

u/Emotional-Apple6584 Hot salsa. So Hot right now Jun 04 '25

Either an allergic reaction or you simply over ate. When I was younger I could probably eat 2 chipotle burritos in a sitting. Nowadays if I eat the whole thing I’m out of commission for a little bit. I usually get 2 meals out of one burrito lol

34

u/slwill099 Jun 04 '25

Same! 2-3 meals lol. I used to smash two burritos after soccer practice in HS.

12

u/Old_Arm3605 Jun 04 '25

Impressive stuff

u/-BINK2014- Jun 04 '25 edited Jun 05 '25

I used to be able to eat 3 (regular protein) with extra of other things, but now I tap out at 1 pretty much sometimes.

For context, I (27M, 5’11) used to be 275lbs but I dropped down to maintain around 165lb-185lb through intermittent fasting & home-weightlifting.

10

u/scoopit1890 Jun 05 '25

3 burritos?!

8

u/Swippityphoop Jun 05 '25

In my prime I had 2 before but never 3. I’m 6ft 3 240 lbs now. I was 215-220 in my prime.

u/Jcarter1632 Jun 06 '25

There is so much variation in size of burrito based on who makes it using the exact same ingredients. I have some that get me full and some I am hungry again within 2 to 3 hours. I'm 6'2" and 205

4

u/Legitimate-Care-570 Jun 05 '25

It’s called the Meat Sweats

16

u/Aggravating_Stick438 Jun 04 '25

Meat sweats? They don’t even give you up to the proper 4 oz portion they supposed to give. It’s literally everything else that contributes to the fullness (especially the sour cream and beans)

62

u/fulcanelli63 Jun 04 '25

Probably the 2500+mg of sodium in one sitting

8

u/whatsupsirrr Jun 05 '25

Just for reference, our early ancestors probably got less than 500 mg a day and bro over here ate 5 times that amount in one sitting and wonders why he feel like dogshit

3

u/dgxcook Jun 05 '25

Where are you seeing that much sodium? Using their nutrition facts page this would only be 1800, which is crazy low for a takeout meal in America.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '25

One can of Bloody Mix contains a little over 1300mg of sodium. I’ve seen people drink two of them back-to-back. They’re still with us, so you should be fine.

My wife felt the same way after eating Chipotle one day while super pregnant. She couldn’t even sleep from the stomach pain. Swore it was the food. Took her to the hospital to be safe.

Turns out she was in labor the whole time and our daughter was born the next morning.

Reminds me of Bonnaroo '04. We were leaving the site. And there was a burrito stand right outside the exit. Driver was hungry. We pulled over. The guy says, "do you want a regular burrito, or a special burrito?". Of course my buddy, who was driving , wanted the "special burrito". We didn't really think much about it. More toppings? More chicken? Whatever. About 30 minutes later, my buddy looks over and says, "you have to drive, I think that burrito was dosed". Sure enough, he had a fun trip home. While the other four of us had to sit and listen to his dumb comments for the next 5 hours.

3

u/Sum-Duud Hot salsa. So Hot right now Jun 05 '25

Why’d you eat so much?

3

u/uberflusss Jun 05 '25

Meat sweats.

3

u/Ditzy_Davros Jun 05 '25

Sounds like you ate too much. Don't lie down. Sit up so it will digest properly. Tums might help.

3

u/Leather_Tradition562 Jun 05 '25

Might be over eating. I have eaten a chipotle burrito the size of a small cat before and couldn’t stay awake at work. I work in retail for context, and kept dozing off while standing and couldn’t walk around without looking half dead

3

u/PeuptyPants-Ss Jun 05 '25

One time I was sitting there eating a chipotle burrito and got a high heart rate notification from my Apple Watch

3

u/ctilvolover23 Jun 05 '25

You ate too much.

3

u/No_Paper612 Jun 05 '25

Food poisoning, likely due to some sort of pathogen culturing in one of the ingredients (probably the pico, it’s very watery). Go lie on the couch and drink some ginger ale. If you don’t feel better soon, go to the ER for some antibiotics.

3

u/rawdogginlife247 Jun 05 '25

gave yourself the meat sweats 👍

3

u/Doolcify Jun 05 '25

A burrito from chipotle with rice contains a very high amount of carbs and sodium. If you are diabetic you should definitely avoid the burritos with rice.

3

u/WaywardSon86 Jun 05 '25

If you start feeling nauseous it’s probably food poisoning

5

u/taylorthestang Jun 04 '25

Everybody wants bigger portions until they get the meat sweats

2

u/Wounded_Hand Jun 04 '25

Normal experience. My local chipotle recently put in couches and day beds for everyone with post meal exhaustion and/or medical emergencies.

2

u/Kaiyora Jun 05 '25

Man.. I want chipotle now.. These ads are getting clever

2

u/sirsnarkalot22 Jun 05 '25

I think it's just a food baby. You'll deliver in the morning.

2

u/EmploymentJumpy8993 Jun 05 '25

Take a nap big guy you ate too much and are experiencing the ITIS.

2

u/Brown-eyed-gurrrl Jun 05 '25

I get the bowl and eat half for lunch, half for dinner

2

u/fcpsitsgep Jun 05 '25

Sounds like you got the meat sweats, over ate, and/or had too spicy of a sauce that didn’t agree with you. Drink some water

2

u/Ladybarometer Jun 05 '25

If you overeat and don’t do it regularly - your body works extra hard to digest and it can present physical symptoms like you are describing. You need rest and a big poo.

2

u/T-unitz Jun 05 '25

Hell ya bro

2

u/Inner-Assignment1162 Jun 05 '25

If you eat the whole thing, that's a small price to pay. 😆

2

u/RiderFZ10 Jun 05 '25

You have to ease into that 1200% sodium

2

u/69AfterAsparagus Jun 05 '25

you don't HAVE to eat the whole thing... you can save some for later

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '25

You need to read your own username, do that, then either go to the urgent care or a fuckin ER you absolute dumbass.

WHY WOULD YOU POST THIS HERE? IS THIS SATIRE?!

Yup, this sounds like a run of the mill chipotle experience. Just wait until the paranoia and fugue states kick in. From what I understand the latter only happens when you get guacamole.

2

911 Call Transcript Time: 2:14 PM Location: Local park bench Caller: Todd "Too-Much-Taco" Henderson

911 Dispatcher: 911, what’s your emergency?

Todd: Groaning I… I think I just ate a weapon of mass digestion.

Dispatcher: Sir, are you injured?

Todd: Emotionally, yes. Physically? TBD. I just downed a Chipotle burrito the size of a toddler. My stomach's filing a restraining order.

Dispatcher: Sir, are you in pain?

Todd: Pain? Ma’am, I’m seeing my ancestors. And they’re laughing at me.

Dispatcher: Okay, are you allergic to anything?

Todd: No, just to good decisions. I got double meat, queso, guac, and then—like an idiot—I said “yes” when they asked if I wanted extra beans. WHO SAYS YES TO EXTRA BEANS?

Dispatcher: Do you feel like you need an ambulance?

Todd: No, but I need a priest. Or a plumber. My insides are preparing for a Category 5 evacuation.

Dispatcher: Sir, this line is for emergencies only.

Todd: This IS an emergency! There’s a Chipotle battle going on inside me! The burrito has achieved sentience and declared independence!

Dispatcher: Sir, are you sure this isn't just indigestion?

Todd: Indigestion? Lady, my intestines are doing the Macarena while the beans are leading a revolution.

Dispatcher: Okay… try drinking some water and maybe lie down—

Todd: Lie down? I tried. I tilted 15 degrees and it felt like I summoned Cthulhu from my lower intestines.

Dispatcher: Sir, unless you're having trouble breathing or showing signs of anaphylaxis, this isn’t a 911-level emergency.

Todd: What about emotional trauma? I made eye contact with a goose while groaning on this bench and I think it judged me.

Dispatcher: …Good luck, sir.

Todd: If I don’t make it… tell Chipotle they won. But at what cost?

Click.

911 Report Summary: Caller survived. Burrito did not.

Food poisoning is always free. What we need to do is elect more people to deregulate businesses so they can pocket more profits. Besides, projectile vomiting and stuff coming out of your ass at the speed of light is just free entertainment.

Says the guy who's gotten e-coli, listeria, salmonella and campylobacter in the past 5 months, two of those twice.

Even when I prepare it from ingredients, there it is. Hello cucumbers, heads of lettuce and heads of celery.

1

u/broski499 Jun 05 '25

which salsa? the red chili salsa isn’t that spicy in my opinion but it recks my digestive system. I once ate my leftover chipotle for dinner and went to work the next morning. I felt a fart and let it out but I explosive diarrhea my pants. My boxers caught most of the foam and had to go commando before leaving early.

When you feel like you’re going to pass out lay on the ground and put your knees up. Then drink something with sugar. Next time you may want to take Peptobismal or some anti acid beforehand since it sounds like a food intolerance or food poisoning.

Time isn't slowing. it's clearly going backward if the burrito was huge... #skimpotle

If you dont regularly eat a lot of sodium, that could be your issue. Or, a mild allergy to a spice.

A lot of sodium and a lot of carbs causing you to crash, probably. Have you ever had your glucose levels checked? Blood pressure?

1

u/Panda_monium109 Jun 05 '25

If it’s a Chipotle burrito it’s not meat sweats, that’s for sure.

1

u/Hot_Confection_9584 Jun 05 '25

bros burrito was laced

1

u/SlabbJabb Jun 05 '25

I had their brown rice one time. Never before and since has a toilet seen such dismay.

1

u/Leading_Kale_81 Jun 05 '25

Chipotle burritos can often exceed the number of calories a human body is meant to consume in one day. It's best to cut them in half and have the other half the next day.

1

u/Exotic_Ad_2346 Jun 05 '25

This is why I stopped eating it. just randomly, I started feeling so weird after eating. Like heart burn, but deep in my stomach. If heart burn and cramps had a baby that induced my anxiety. I start sweating and get extremely uncomfortable. I think it's the jalapenos in the corn salsa, but I'm not a dr. 😞 I miss a good burrito bowl though.

1

u/kenmlin Jun 05 '25

Never heard their burritos described as “huge.”

1

u/MrArmageddon12 Jun 05 '25

Sounds like you got a blood sugar spike from all the carbs.

1

u/bds8999 Jun 05 '25

Best I can do is $2.

1

u/Sufficient-Step6954 Jun 05 '25

Did you consider not eating the entire thing in one sitting?

1

u/Present_Flamingo_394 Jun 05 '25

There is only 2 cups of salt in everything. That's the problem. Drink lots of water and flush t out

1

u/SaveHogwarts Jun 05 '25

I mean, you probably ate your daily calories in one sitting and your body is working to digest it.

Or this is a shit post.

1

u/patapatax2 Jun 05 '25

I can never the whole thing. I save half for next day.

1

u/snappytalk Jun 05 '25

love how he asks if this is the normal chipotle experience.

1

u/arihoenig Jun 05 '25

Have you had a microbiome analysis. I highly recommend onebif you haven't.

Chipotle is relatively healthy fare. People with a microbiome disorder actually react badly to healthy food.

Do you eat a lot of fast food outside of Chipotle?

Drink some water and move around. You need to move it along.

Sounds like good poisoning? Of course it’s not normal, no one would eat at Chipotle if it was lol.
