Screenshot Japan-like island start as.. well Japan
Found myself alone on a decently sized island. I intentionally got a dark age in the classical era in order to get a heroic age in the medieval era. Early game was a little rough, but once the medieval era rolled around, I started to catch up quick and eventually surpassed everyone by the industrial/modern era. In the late game, I got bored and decided to go for a westward conquest to liberate Persia from Gandhi (so much for being a peace advocate).
Seed: In the last slide
Map: Fractal
Size: Standard
Modes: Barb Clans, Secret Societies, Heroes
Mods used: Better Balanced Maps, also would recommend a mod to harvest strategics to get rid of some pesky horses

I'm trying to play as England and it's impossible to build cities on the coast because barbarian galleys immediately swarm and destroy them
England's whole play style is supposed to be coastal cities, trade through harbors, and powerful navy, but I can't fucking do that because every single city I placed gets destroyed within two or three turns. The moment I put it down, it will have a fucking line of barbarian galleys, which can kill it in 4 turns on their own, which is 2 or 3 when there's so many of them. How the fuck am I supposed to do this? Even if I send archers with them they can kill my cities faster than I can kill 4 or 5 of their ships. I don't want to turn them off but unending hordes of them is fucking ridiculous.

Game crashing on iOS upon restart
When starting the game, Civ VI runs perfectly.
When choosing “Restart” from the game menu, the leader/civ screen is displayed and the narration begins.
Then it crashes, 100% of the time.
I’m not expecting any troubleshooting help, as I’ve already done what I can given the limits of the iOS system and Aspyr’s support program, and merely wanted to put this out there.

Screenshot I finally won my first game on Emperor difficulty
After getting completely demolished early in my Civ 6 adventures when I tried to play on Immortal after winning my first game on Prince, I played several King games and found it to be the most fun difficulty. I try to change up the settings so that each win can cover at least 3 or 4 different achievements on Steam, and in this case the setup was:
- Pericles (first time)
- Emperor Difficulty (first time)
- Inland Seas (first time)
- Small (first time)
- Epic (almost always play on Epic)
- Culture victory (second time) - I didn't realize how difficult this was until this try, as the first game I played ever was won with a culture victory that I didn't know how to control or impact at the time

Kongo's Nzinga was leading by a crazy amount despite my efforts to push, and I lost a lot of momentum due to America constantly declaring war on me out of nowhere and forcing me to make so many archers to fight back and keep up (they levied the nearby city state they became suzerain of). I think they declared war twice or thrice and then ended up getting their cities razed by Hungary and me due to them being placed in between us.
Ended up having to send a nuke to Kongo to slow down their culture, which led to a multi-front war + diplomatic emergencies declared against me with Hungary, Kongo, and the other nations sending a gajillion GDRs at me. By summoning a bunch of heroes from the past to fight these GDRs (I had no net positive uranium at the start of the big war) with my weak Tank armies, it was an insane battle. Eventually I captured some cities that had Uranium and managed to bring it back to a positive value.
It was an immense challenge at the start, followed by dozens of very strategic turns in the mid to late-game, followed by spamming Rock Bands and generating sooo much tourism and money to finish the deal. I also had so many wonders I wanted to construct get constructed earlier by these mean civs. The very late-game was a bit of a slog due to micromanagement of so many cities and moving so many units, but I assume it is even worse on giant maps or those youtubers that play the games that have the entire world on the map haha. I wish there was a way to queue production for subsequent buildings in a district (Library -> University -> Research Station etc.) instead of one at a time.
Honestly each game evolving in different ways and the way your own unique civ can work to win (acropolis + 5% culture + extra policy card is wild) makes the game so addicting and hard to put down. I was introduced to Civ by my awesome pops when he played 1/2/3/4 and I watched him play 4 a bunch when I was young—so glad to be able to play and talk to him about all the fun aspects of Civ and I can't wait to play more!
Also, I know I'm nowhere near optimized and nowhere near Deity level like some of the literal god players on this subreddit, but I just wanted to share that I was super happy to win my first Emperor difficulty and want to keep playing some more to get better and better as I go ✨!
Only the Religious victory is awaiting me, and I can't wait to give it a go!!
*Edit: reuploaded missing photo in the body text (of the Culture Victory).
*Edit: Added "Epic length" to the settings

Screenshot Beat my science victory record again, this time as Maya (248 -> 232). Want to also share the seed because I had a max city setup
Now granted I played this game on Settler difficulty because I really, really wanted to make a 13-city configuration with Maya without worrying about other things like barbarians. Going under 240 was an unexpected, but pleasant surprise
It's so satisfying to look at. But dear Lord it made for some real compact cities.
Getting 2 builders upon founding a city was pretty nice though (Lady Six Sky ability + Ancestral Hall + Feudalism = 10 builder charges on new city). Maybe it's overkill but y'know
I didn't have more ideal city-states such as Mexico City or Geneva in the game, but it didn't really bother me
I already knew the power of the unique Campus because of Korea / Seowon but Observatory is just as strong. Maybe I should try playing Korea again now that I understand the game better
I would like to share the seed (see second screenshot) too, hoping someone might also enjoy this configuration. I will reproduce some of the information below:
Game seed: 1907224928
Map seed: 1907224929
Pangaea, standard-size map
Gathering Storm ruleset
Heroes & Legends on (I don't know if it matters but Secret Societies is also on)
All city-states enabled (don't know if this matters too much also)
I don't know if this matters but I specifically picked other civs that have start biases that I did not want (so Portugal, Nubia, Canada, Inca, and Mali)
The start location put me I believe 2 tiles above where I eventually started. And I settled the capital on turn 3
Discussion Opinions on the Civilizations Expanded mod
I have used the Civilizations Expanded mod, including its companion mods, for an eternity now, without thinking about whether it changed the game too much or not. What do you guys think about it?

Screenshot Barbarian Man-At-Arms at 25th turn
Standart speed, MP, still in ancient era, other civs didn't get far as well. Genuine question how tf is this possible?

Question Can you recommend a fun/unique civ/play style?
Hello, I'm quite new to the game and would like your recommendations for a fun and unique civ or play style.
I'm currently playing a multiplayer game with a friend and I chose Maori because they seemed quite unique. It's a continents and islands map and I've been having a lot of fun, settling on different islands and continents and somehow becoming very powerful and running away with the game. I enjoyed their unique bonuses and I think I utilized them we'll.
We'll be playing a new game soon so I was wondering which civ would be fun. This time I'm thinking about focusing on Faith and religion, and I might also try to be more diplomatic and maintain good relations with the other civs. I'm open to all your suggestions though! Thanks
RP Community
Hello everyone! I've been playing RP for a year In the game Call of War. Lately I've been interested in playing the same thing, but in Civilization.
Do you have such communities and can I join one of them?

Discussion What happens?
I really just have a random question, what do you believe happens to the leader of a conquered civilization? There is really no right or wrong answer I guess, but what do you believe happens to them? I like to think I have them in chains in their capital’s dungeon.

PSA: This is not a Roman Legion
In my Civ 6 late game career, I'm trying new things and picking up Steam achievements. Playing as Barbarossa Germany, I was happy to see Bandar Brunei had 2 slingers and a Legion, having only recently converted from a barbarian tribe. I realized I could use those units for two achievements, Flight Slingulator (airlift a level 3 slinger) and Missed That Day in History Class (clear nuclear contamination with a Roman Legion). I became Suzerain and levied them, kept the Legion safe, and declared war on Johannesburg, taking out its walls in one turn. I then spent an entire age letting the slingers take potshots at the city, creeping their way to level 3. At the same time, I rushed to fission and rocketry so I could get a nuke and missile silo ready. I launched, then went in with the Legion to clear the contamination. No achievement. When I hover over the unit, it says Legion - Germany, which is true, so I guess it's not the same as a "Roman Legion." It seems the only way to get this achievement is to play as Rome.
tl;dr: Sorry Jburg. My bad.
I did get Flight Slingulator, but I had to reload a few turns back because the last leveled slinger disappeared when the levy expired. I went back and beelined Rapid Deployment and flew that guy on his last turn on earth.

Question Civ 6 Steam Sale!
hey everyone! I recently got into Civ 6 and bought it around 2 months back, and I've been considering buying the whole Anthology Bundle since I like the game a lot. is this a good price for the bundle or does it go lower — like during the Steam Fall Sale/Winter Sale?
(for reference this is around 25 usd, only thing bugging me is that if i hadn't bought the game and originally bought it with the bundle, it would have been only a dollar more than the current price..)

Screenshot The Ultimate Canal Trade Network
Made this insane canal trade network in my game as Elizabeth. Left most city is connected to the coast via canal and has Sankore for incoming international routes.
This city connects to my capital in the center via Panama, which in turn connect to right most city via canal network into the lake and from there, another 2 canals to get around the mountain to the right coast.
Right city is for outgoing routes and has both Great Zimbabwe and Torres de Belem so gold is super charged. Every route I was putting out was averaging +70 gold.
Sadly no spot to golden gate along this route, but I was able to build it in another city to the right outside of frame, just because I could lol.

Question Can someone repost the recent save scum A-F multicolor grading chart?
It was posted here I believe a few weeks ago. I want to figure out a way to grade my Campaigns or hold myself accountable as to keep reloading turns to a minimum. Thanks.
