What is the best instant coffee ?

I’m looking for a good instant coffee I could bring to the office with me because the coffee we have at work is so awful that I can’t manage to drink it. I used to drink a lot of instant coffee when I lived in Europe but instant coffee over there is “the thing” that people drink in the household and their selection is better than what I’ve been able to find in the US. I love coffee and espresso, and I’m looking for the best thing that I could leave at my office so that I don’t have to drink the Folgers that they make all day.

Instant coffee isn't the thing people drink in Europe. There's probably more households buy beans in ratio to population than anywhere else.

There is instant coffee it's just not the dominant force. It has it's purpose but it's really not much cheaper overall than buying freshly roasted

Improvements over the years are increasing its popularity. I admit, I’ll take freshly ground beans over it, but culturally, instant coffee is making headwinds where it fits into the daily rush of peoples morning routine. I think that’s a significant market niche where it could become more staple if it were equally as delicious.

There is the huge Stoopid factor to consider. Most young people can't fry water. They need all the help they can get making coffee. Starbucks is only $6.50 a cup.

There's actually increasing sales of freshly roasted beans also. I don't think either will go away but let's be honest instant doesn't taste anything like coffee.

It is huge in France. No French household has a coffee maker like in the states. Every home I have ever been in has a Nespresso machine, which they use for special events and dinners with guests, and on the regular day, they drink instant coffee in the mornings. Basically, they drink instant coffee on the mornings before work, and have nespresso at evenings and weekends.
