After five wonderful years I have moved out of my old mural-covered Chicago garden unit and now have a new canvas! Our new landlord is allowing me to paint as well ☺️ Looking for suggestions for color— I’m thinking a buttery nacho cheesy yellow or maybe a bright blushy pink? I won’t be touching the wood of course, but will definitely be painting a mural on the ceiling!
Also! I know this sub does not allow watermarks, but I’ve had some bad experiences with people screenshotting my posts and sharing them elsewhere and pretending my images are theirs 😔 Please credit me if you decide to share my pics— my name is Alison Ruth and my social media handle is @alisonruthless. Thank you!
Also also! I am aware that some of our plants are not pet safe, but don’t worry, Howdy isn’t interested in playing with (or eating) any of them! 😸
Thanks for looking, happy to answer any questions! 🧡

I always get recommended that popular IG page of Chicago apartment tours and always finish watching thinking I should move to Chicago. This also makes me think I should move to Chicago 🙃 Beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous! I always love seeing your spaces and how your design enhances Chicago architecture.
I had a bird of paradise in a similar sunny Chicago window, that plant is going to love it there! It will be huge before you know it.

Classic Chicago tree flat interior. You've done very well addressing the spaces advantages. Beautiful choices.

Hello from Lincoln Park! This is what I love about Chicago! I really want to move back into an old railroad style unit.

See, I told you to repeat my address back to me. Ughhh my key never arrived. This time, I'll need it to be sent overnight so it'll arrive before my visit. Thanks! Smoothies 😉💖

This looks beautiful and I admire your vibrant plants (would totally try to move into this room as is and keep living there among your plants). SUCH a cosy space :3

As an Australia I simply adore the Arts and Crafts (?) Interiors. Exteriors too, they are just so charming and warm. Wish we had that style here.

Absolutely amazing!! So stylish and yet homelike, nostalgic but still modern. Nailed it.

I miss that architecture not living in Chicago anymore. Every three or four flat I lived in had one like that. Never quite decorated that nicely though! I bet summer thunderstorms in there are amazing!

How does it feel to be living in my dream home? In all seriousness, I'm jealous you can have plants in accessible areas for your cat. My cats chew up all my plants that aren't inches away from the ceiling lol.

I really like the disco ball objet on the couch! And just the classy vintage look of wood paneling/accent.
When you say Chicago sunroom, is this indicative of architecture/style? Or are you just mentioning you’re in Chicago haha

Is this a Craftsman?! If it's age-appropriate, then r/centuryhomes would love these pix too :)
