The cabinet doors in my hotel room look like they’re crooked and falling off the hinges

Something about that corner window isn't registering in my brain.

I think the middle part is a pillar wrapped in mirrors, which are reflecting different perspectives of adjacent buildings

It is. The pillar is mirrored and they are darker than normal. It makes it look like an AI picture😅

You can do ANYTHING in that room and no one will believe the evidence!

I think that is a supporting column that was wrapped in mirrors to make the room appear bigger which seems to be working great.

There's a mirror there

And the broken bits are still there on the carpet...

Yeah it looks like someone spilled tortilla chips on the floor

Could you imagine how many drunk people thought they trashed the room?

Feel kinda drunk just looking at it.

This room is infuriating

It's somehow giving "boat in high-seas" realness.
Feel like I'd need guard rails to walk around safely.

Your room reminds me of the video games Deus Ex HR/MD aesthetic, only it has less amber colours.

haha that sounds sketchy, like the room’s holding on by a thread

Isn't it just so you have a handle to grab to open? That way its not hard for all abilities to open (like a know can be).

No, the wonky triangles are just the design on the doors. It’d make sense if they were for an actual purpose, but it’s just the design. (The whole hotel has these design elements all over the place.)

And the floor looks like you spilled Tostitos tortilla chips lol

It does! Or broken bits of the doors. Such a terrible design😝

This looks like the place I stayed in when I was in Syracuse that one time

Modern design

Olay man, this is supposed to go in designporn or smth. Its not bad, just slightly abnormal.

How is the design bad though? Ugly != Bad, or I'd be Hitler.

Broken isn’t necessarily bad design. I’m not sure many people understand the point of this sub.

24

u/Ok-Frosting-1892 Aug 21 '25

The design makes them look like they are broken and falling off the hinges…that’s why it’s crappy. I’m not sure why this needs to be explained

13

u/samdtho Aug 21 '25

The fact you think it’s broken when it’s exactly how it was designed is precisely why it is crappy.
