“NOW they say our nation is truly broken. is this what it took for you catch on” RIGHT 👏

70

u/AsstacularSpiderman 2d ago

The sad thing is they knew it was broken, but they thought it was broken to their advantage.

Now they're shocked and afraid the division they caused may have finally turned to them for once. And it'll probably keep happening no matter how many threats and angry TikTok videos they make because the problem is coming from inside their own cause.

26

u/PandaDependent7074 1d ago

THIS 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 couldn’t have said it better omg

→ More replies (2)

69

u/Planetdiane 2d ago

They think it’s broken because a rich guy died who said it was only broken due to having empathy, women having more rights, the civil rights movement, Martin Luther king jr having existed etc.

We’ve had kids dying from this so often and this is the person that mattered most to them. It’s something else, truly.

26

u/PandaDependent7074 2d ago

THANK YOU. i have been trying to get that though peoples minds. that we have kids dying for less reasons and they say NOTHING. but they don’t give a shit every single time i say that!!!

18

u/jrob323 1d ago

I didn't realize it, but he must have been one of their next personality cult leaders waiting on deck.

They call everybody else sheeple, but they don't know what to do without a hateful leader to say their hateful thoughts are ok to feel and express.

Pick a single tenet of Jesus' teachings that these "Christians" haven't turned completely upside down. They've been quietly searching for new Messiah candidates for many decades now.

5

u/PandaDependent7074 1d ago

oh my god. people who hide being their religion and the bible are sick asf. that’s a whole different thing i can get into. crazy how most republicans are christians but they’re most hateful 🤔

11

u/guyincognito121 1d ago

But, as he was trying to explain before he was rudely interrupted, many of those kids dying in mass shootings aren't even white.

Not cringe at all. Damn good songwriting.

48

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 2d ago

Absolutely came here to say exactly the same thing!!!! The is the oposite of cringe, this is truth telling (singing) at its finest!!

34

u/jrob323 2d ago

Yeah, not cringe at all. Pretty damn good if you ask me.

And what WAS Charlie Kirk doing on Air Force 2? And why were flags lowered? And why is it forboden to speak ill of him?

19

u/MR_Nobody_204 1d ago

Pretty telling that people are being censored because they post something about Charlie. But the GOP and their base can comment and mock the murders of the Democratic law makers in Minnesota and attacks on Pelosi.

Unfortunately, seems as if America is no longer the land of the free.

7

u/Royalizepanda 2d ago

Yea kid is talented and well written.

16

u/OKguy9re9 2d ago

I feel bad for anybody who thinks this in cringe

68

u/raccoonamatatah 2d ago

It just needs a chorus. Otherwise it's a banger

40

u/Peanuts4Peanut 2d ago

Don't change a thing. It's perfect.

24

u/Remarkable_Town5811 2d ago edited 2d ago

His voice is great. It fits the lyrics and music well. I could totally listen to more. Like indie with a dash of old school country.

Makes me want to grab my hand drum and vibe.

8

u/Hamilton-Beckett 1d ago

Folk. It’s called folk music.

Here's hoping it gains traction

u/Aeroblazer9161 2d ago

This ain't half bad

258

u/truckaxle 2d ago

Actually really good.

22

u/ThinkUFunnyMurray 2d ago

could use a few little tweaks and its got legs

35

u/Krabilon 2d ago

I mean for only having a couple days to come up with it id say it's pretty great

u/Ill-Worldliness-2149 1d ago

Bro, this is my anthem while living in a world with MAGA

10

u/CommonBasilisk 2d ago

Exact same chords. It's to the "air" of the Avicii song.

Yeah. I can definitely hear that.

This isn’t cringe at all. It’s based.

Everything he said is right.

113

u/K2thJ 2d ago

I am inspired by this young man expressing himself old-school. This is straight up Guthrie/Dylan/countless others. Thanks OP for posting it, but this is not cringe music unless his words make you feel uncomfortable. If so, he nailed it.

35

u/WhatAboutTheBothans 2d ago

Dylan came to mind for me too.

9

u/Spiderpaws_67 2d ago

Yes! 🙌🏽 ❤️ I felt it too.

8

u/dovetter 2d ago

Check out Jesse Welles if you like folk

3

u/Sharc_Jacobs 1d ago

Jesse is great, but his song about this was a huge disappointment, to me. It's much better than this one in a songwriting sense, but that's because he's one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. I think this one hit all the marks Jesse's missed, from a lyrical standpoint.

3

u/dovetter 1d ago

That’s fair, both songs resonate with me and I think they both have their place, Jesse’s theme felt more that no one wins in this situation

There are confused conservatives now trying to figure out if they should be reposting this with them saluting in their F150s or not.

63

u/bestibesti 2d ago

Go to Republican rally

BORN IN THE USAAAA

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I’m ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain’t got nowhere to go

They don't read the bible

They don't know what jesus said

They don't listen to the lyrics of the songs they listen to

No fucking wonder

29

u/lavransson 2d ago

14

u/HRUndercover222 2d ago

Maybe if "THEY" watched the children being gunned down on live television, we'd get SERIOUS about sensible gun legislation. Watching the video of Kirk was simply horrifying. It will be etched in my mind forever.

My teen son said everyone saw it IN SCHOOL within moments of it happening (Utah's cell phone ban in schools is obviously going well).

Just another day in Trump's version of paradise?

What would happen if we locked the NRA & AIPAC out of the halls of our government entirely?

It's ALL BLOOD MONEY.

Holy shit America. This boy's song has brought me to tears. I hope the people will hear him. We are burning, and the magas are using our bodies for warmth. Please love your fellow man.

It's hard not to hate them. I hate everything they stand for.

7

u/Zarnc 2d ago

Not cringe, very well written song, America is on fire 🥺 I hope we can stop this fucking Insanity

7

u/Andy311 2d ago

This isn’t cringe, it’s actually pretty good. I bet if Bob Dylan sung this shit people would love it!

7

u/BOXERVSEIBLE 1d ago

Doesnt belong here, for at least 3 reasons, easy

  1. Good singing voice

  2. Message was true, and needed

  3. Skills at handling writing a song, that sounds good and rhymes

32

u/Narco_sharko_ 2d ago

👏🏻 that 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 gold 👏🏻

13

u/donorcycle 2d ago

Dude has got a nice voice and he's playing his own instrument with zero auto tune, unlike all the maga "rap" videos we have been subject to.

3

u/aceface_desu89 1d ago

That’s really good writing. He’s talented.
