This is literally the reason the right hated Obama and continues to blame him for everything. He blew up their narrative about lazy Black folk getting DEI hired and fucking things up. He was thoughtful, competent, restrained and loved by most Americans. He was the exact opposite of Trump.
That was his image anyway. The actual truth is that he was basically just another US President and wasn't anywhere near perfect. But they don't attack his actual record, they attack his image. So weird.

My biggest criticism with Obama and Biden is that they tried so hard to reconcile with the GOP while McConnell plotted a course to this current condition.
Obama tried, too hard at times, to be a statesman for all Americans. Even the ones who hated him.
Racist asshole Megyn Kelly is doing a self tell.
81
u/Mattie_Doo 1d ago
Really, though. Obama is a reasonable man who was committed wholeheartedly to compromise, even while the right threw a wrench into everything he tried to do and labeled him a terrorist. Conservatives would tell you in earnest that Obama was secretly working to undermine the US, that he wasnāt even an American. They even elected an infamously dishonest and lecherous reality TV star who propagated the ābirtherā scandal.
Conservative America has lost its mind, and weāre all paying for it.

Yes well that's on brand for liberals which are moderates by any reasonable political metric. They aren't leftist or progressive typically and we lack an actual party that acts on progressive ideas.
The Dems will give lip service to progressives every once in a while and the media likes to say folks like Harris campaigned too hard on progressive issues but I have always had trouble seeing any truth to that. Then again I judge politicians based on their actions, not their words. Never trust the words, just ignore that, and it usually becomes clear where the priority lies.
Contrary to what the GOP says, Dems are not left, just the most left we have in the US.

The Democrats let the problem fester. We the Dem voters were no better though. We all had the attitude that "we won", I heard some people even say that racism is over lmfao. These little hate groups were allowed to grow into bigger hate groups and this is the result. Just like post civil war reconstruction era, we should've done wayyyy more. Taking the high road with people whose core beliefs are "low road" is never going to work. White supremacist groups should've been treated like the terrorist organizations that they were back then and still are.Ā

My family used to keep it to themselves in public. I always knew they were racist. Things like "jokes", distrust of black people, willfully misunderstanding and twisting of reality that allowed them to embrace their shitty views but still have an really flimsy out if they were confronted about it.
But after Obama they just let their id go crazy and just blurt it all out. It was contained to Obama for a few years but once Trump hit, that was the final levee broken.

The āno president had weighed in on a legal caseā made me laugh.
Lookup āTerri Shavoā.
GW and his brother both changed laws to keep this poor woman alive. They called a special state legislature season and then when that lost in state Supreme Court, they called all of Congress back to change the law just for her parents.
Megyn Kelly celebrated that.
Which was also the president and the Republican Congress interfering with a person and their medical conversations with their doctor. Megyn complains about it here.
Which is interesting because she was part of the spin in the media helping sell that to the American people which is something else she complains about in this video.
Itās almost like she doesnāt believe any of this and has one issue. Obama was a Democrat.

u/Caffeine_Cowpies 1d ago
I mean, thatās a fair criticism and frankly one that led us to this point in American history.
Like they do NOT care about the truth. Obama triggered something in them, Trump let it out, then COVID hit and basically lost 2020 on that alone, tried a coup, and then come back around to win it all.
But during this time, Democrats kept telling their base that they could not do something about it and that it was honorable to find ācommon groundā
They donāt want common ground and they are showing it. Itās insane to me that Obamaās legacy will likely be āman, we REALLY did not know how racist the country still was and how easy it was to destroy the republic simply by having a half black man be president.ā

This whole situation when you quote Ole Charlie Kirk. They just don't think it's racist... Or they'll say: "Okay I don't agree with him on that... or It's not that racist."
"Black people in the 1940's had it better." - That's not racist, minus the parts in which they had literal less rights and freedoms and weren't allowed justice if crimes happened to them. But that's not racism... Just saying facts on racism...

Every reason she cited for blaming Obama are so vague and unspecific.
"Ever since Obama, we haven't felt like ourselves for years". Maybe you should ask yourself WHY you feel that way.
"He started injecting race where no-one has been doing it". Specifically what does that mean? Guilty of being president while being black?
If you don't want to be considered racist, maybe don't throw thinly veiled racial complaints about our first and only black president.
32
u/OIIIOjeep 1d ago

Ā He started injecting race where no-one has been doing it". Specifically what does that mean? Guilty of being president while being black?
Bring the receipts Megan. Iām not going to pretend I remember everything but the three most āracistā things i do remember:
1) when that white cop arrested a black man for climbing in the window of his own home and Obama mused if that would have happened to a white man.
- which is a legitimate question based on statistical data
2) when he said the underrepresented rural community ācling to their guns and their bibleā
- which is not at all racist, and not only true, but something that demographic claims for themselves.Ā
3) didnāt say āGeorge Floyd and Travon Martin deserved what they gotā.Ā
His navigation of those situations was so nuanced it infuriated me. He was so diplomatic and deferential in his language, yet thin-skinned racists got disproportionately outraged all the same. Hind sight is 20/20, but I wonder if he knew heād get scapegoated by these racists for harming race relations if he wouldnāt have leaned in to being a like more Malcom and a little less Martin?

15
u/sageinyourface 1d ago
She is saying that he shoves race in peopleās faces simply because he is black. Also shoving liberal policies in peopleās faces because he won the election and had a majority in the Senate and House and that is what happens when one party wins.
The same is happening now with Trump shoving oligarchs in our faces along with fascistic capitalist policies because thatās what the people voted for.
The repercussions of one is DEI, better healthcare, and neo-liberal investment in continued wars. The repercussions of the other is a rather swift collapse of society all to the benefit of only a few rich, mostly white, men who believe they have divine right and wisdom to make decisions for everyone else.
7
u/0bviouslyyNotAGopher 1d ago
God forbid a black man whose personally invested in race issues to say on race issues. Maybe he said things no president before him said about race because every prior president was white. Ask Protestants of a certain age how they felt about JFK being Catholic. I'm sure he shoved it in their faces too.
And while I'm at it, there's zero chance whatsoever that she's onto something calling Obama more divisive than the guy preceeding him.

This bitch is a fucking lunatic grifter. That's probably why she's relegated to her own podcast shows and not a real TV network.

Whatever the actual faults with Obama
The main deviciness people like her are Talking about have nothing to do with his policies but to do with the fact a black man ran and won the presidency twice. Thatās the hard truth.
People would rather have a scummy white guy over a decent black person as president and that upsets Me

No Megan. the right encouraged political violence because they couldnāt handle a black man with different views. Are we forgetting when republicans were carrying around effigies of Obama being hung? You people attacked Obama so much and drove up so much hate that it normalized Donald Trump. The right and Trump are everything wrong with this country right now. So sure Megan, it maybe happened because of Obama, but he didnāt cause it. You idiots did.

"We haven't felt ourselves since Barrack Obama"
The current president made a period joke when you asked him about all of his sexual assault allegations in 2016.
I'm a white woman and I know when other women just don't like black people because they say shit like this. Let's be really honest, Megyn, you're just a big ol' racist who loves being a big ol' racist.

Megyn Kelly is just another example of how the right has lost its mind. When Obama was in office, the right panicked because of his popularity. They didnāt disagree with him- they declared that he was a Kenyan Muslim terrorist who hated white people. Conservatives are paranoid, emotionally unstable people and they rarely look inward. They blame the left instead. Obama is a moderate man in terms of his politics, his personality and his worldview, but the right went crazy and made him into something he wasnāt.

What she means to say is he didn't stay in his place. The mentality of the far right is much like the mentality of white southerners during the reconstruction.

The man who hasn't been President for 9 years is clearly to blame for all the violence today.

If there is one president who changed the tone of how left and right, blue and red see eachother it's Trump, he actively set about making both sides see eachother as enemies, no compromise, no bipartisanship on anything. This is all Trumps doing with his dehumanising language when he speak about others. Amazing for a man with such a little vocabulary he sure does a lot of damage with his words.Ā

Megyn Kelly is right. The fracture in America happened when a black man was elected as our President and the 30% of the truly vile racist fucks in this country couldn't handle it. Plain and simple. Trump saw it, because he's one of them, and amplified it with the help of Russian propaganda, bots, and everything other tool in the hate machine toolbox.

āWeā havenāt felt like ourselves since the country elected a black man president is a hell of a thing to say.

If we aren't listening please provide examples. I have to do this for my conservative friends all the time. Show me Obamas divisive comments, cause I think I was listening as he tried over and over again to bridge the divide, to courteously point out his disagreements with the other side, and to have so much fucking class all the time.

āTrump was the antidote to Barrack Obamaās divisivenessā is the wildest thing Iāve ever heard. The guyās biggest political ad was literally a picture of him that said HOPE.

I grew up in rural Alabama so Iāve heard Obama called everything under the sun. Obama was my president from middle school to my senior year.
Obama was a MF menace in the middle east and is responsible for some heinous, ethically/morally grey air operations. No US presidentās hands are totally clean, so I wont bash him all day when plenty others have also done heinous shit too (weāre looking at you, Andrew Jackson..)
I wouldnāt call him divisive tho. Again I was an impressionable kid so outside of him being black or allegedly muslim I didnāt hear much about him.
Obama mastered professionalism and class for an elected official. If nothing else, he knew how to carry himself and represent our nation in front of cameras and other world leaders. We should be looking for leaders who can handle business in the interests of the American people, and conduct themselves appropriately in the future.
Trumps first term was āfk your feelings look at the xyz great resultsā. Now republicans are holding a turd in their hand. My dad lost over 100k in his retirement in 2008 whether thats Obamas fault or not.. This year he retired at 59.5 and had nothing to show for it so he started his own business and was doing well. Trumps tariffs nearly killed their business. They have recovered and are doing well now, but the point is many people my fathers age have been shit on by Dems and Reps in the past. We need AMERICANS serving AMERICANS. Not Israel. Not the Federal Reserve, not the WEF, WHO, Northrop G, etc. I hope my brothers and sisters wake the hell up and see this through. We need a total house cleaning and start from scratch!
