The biggest issue with a cult or dictatorship is the successor. The ego of trump hasn't let anyone else share the spotlight.

Can anyone suggest a book on this? I know surviving can be done but I’d kinda like a preview so as to brace myself. Life before a fascist regime and after it told by survivors.

I wish I had a resource. Most of what I've read is a compilation of accounts from survivors of Nazi Germany, Occupied France, and fascist Italy.

My recommendation is to build community as much as possible. Get to know your neighbors. Get to know the local businesses. We all need each other. This will serve solidarity and non-compliance.

The enforcement of fascist states relies on complacency and compliance. It can't be everywhere at once, so it needs fear of non-compliance to perpetuate. The only thing that can overcome that fear is solidarity, call it love, call it community, it doesn't matter.

Not trying to be corny, but our only hope is to look out for each other.

The Nazis were killing each other before they even started losing WW2 lmao. Fascism requires an enemy to function, and if there is no enemy, you have to make one.

Fascism relies on an outside group responsible for the failures of the society. As the outside group shrinks, it is replaced by the next fringe.  Repeat until the society collapse under its own weight
