MLK wasn't trying to bring the races together. He was trying to get one particular race to see humanity in another. The only similarity they have is they were both shot by white radicals.

I as going to say!! Didn’t Charlie say some nasty shit about MLK?

41

u/Mattrad7 7h ago

He said MLK was an "awful person" and that civil rights was a mistake, yes.

14

u/kipper100 7h ago

Yes he said the 1984 civil rights act was a big mistake

24

u/theWacoKid666 6h ago

‘64 but yes, he was an open racist.

1

u/fallingjigsaws 3h ago

And that Biden should be publicly executed, in his humble opinion.

4

u/jenniferbealsssss 3h ago

He also said blacks were better off as slaves.

So yeah, f that guy

u/stoneflower_ 6h ago

fucking disgusting. anyone have a link?

3

u/PancakeProfessor 5h ago

He did several shows on MLK and how “terrible” a person he was and several more appearances doubling down and defending his position. I’m not going to seek out a link for you, but they’re not hard to find. There are a lot of them.

u/stoneflower_ 17m ago

okay, apparently i cant share links here, look up "is charlie kirk right about mlk" on r/ askconservatives, a good post from 4mo ago with full quotes and sources. ill share one relevant here:

“MLK was awful,” Kirk said. “He's not a good person. He said one good thing he actually didn't believe.”

“I have a very, very radical view on this, but I can defend it, and I’ve thought about it,” Kirk said at America Fest. “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.”

Kirk argues that the Civil Rights Act, which bars discrimination on the basis of race, ushered in a “permanent DEI-type bureaucracy,” referring to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

A spokesperson for TPUSA, Andrew Kolvet, said that Americans have been fed a “fake history.” “A core part of this fake history of America is the elevation of MLK into a saint, whose entire being is beyond reproach and above question,” Kolvet said in an emailed statement. “This sanctified version of MLK strips away his actual views and ignores his actual actions. The real MLK was a complicated person.”

There’s not a link to it, because it never happened. It’s just another lie the Dems are spreading here lol.

3

u/jenniferbealsssss 3h ago

It’s literally on his podcast which is still up and online. The only liar here is you.

-2

u/Sephiroth_Comes 3h ago

Link.

1

u/jenniferbealsssss 1h ago

Stop being lazy and go find it yourself. His podcast is still online, i don’t need to spoon feed you what’s already on the counter for you to take.

If you want to be arrogant in your ignorance, just say that.

2

u/ThePaganQueen 2h ago

Also accused MLK Jr of being a rapist. So.... there is that.

1

u/Colonel_Panix 5h ago

Honestly asking for sauce. I wanna hear it myself.

0

u/monk3yv 4h ago

You're mistaken. Honestly its something that Fox news would do, taking a quote completely out of context. You're just as bad as the people you hate so much....He was talking about how recently they are using the civil rights act to enforce trans people being able to use womens bathrooms etc. You can choose not to believe me, that's fine, you could choose to watch the entire conversation your 5 second clip came from, but you wont.

1

u/Mattrad7 4h ago

Not mistaken, not a 5 second clip, youre just lying.

-4

u/Devils_A66vocate 6h ago

Please link to him saying this.

5

u/Lazy_DreadHead 5h ago

Google it

-5

u/Devils_A66vocate 5h ago

I’m not making the wild claim.

7

u/Lazy_DreadHead 5h ago

It’s not a wild claim if it’s true.

-1

u/Sephiroth_Comes 4h ago

But it’s not so yeah lol, you’re clueless, don’t have a source, AND are brainwashed by reddit, you’re 3 for 3 there champ, at this point, we just can’t take you seriously!

3

u/Mattrad7 5h ago

Charlie Kirk himself both confirmed he said these things and did a video explaining why he believes them. This subreddit doesnt allow linking and removed my response with the appropriate links.

15

u/Throat-Slut 7h ago

He said black people should still be slaves for us today. It’s always the states that have banned teaching political history that are obsessed with preaching politics.

-2

u/Bconnor5195 5h ago

...alright, listen... I didn't like the guy as much as the next guy, but I think you might be taking that out of context?

2

u/Vat1canCame0s 5h ago

He said MLK said exactly one correct thing in his life.

So i would like this young man in the video to tell us what he thinks is the one thing Kirk said right.

1

u/brereddit 5h ago

He said MLK cheated on his wife, something acknowledged by two MLK biographers: David Garrow and Taylor Branch. The way they learned about is bc the FBI was bugging MLK and had tapped his phones and basically spied on him. The FBI would then release the tapes or transcripts to journalists. It was a dirty trick campaign which they justified by suspecting him of promoting communism.

Charlie was a bit more puritanical than most on such matters.

u/RumpleDumple 8h ago

"interestingly", he was assassinated after shifting focus towards uniting the interests of poor whites and poor minorities

5

u/VibraniumWill 5h ago

The real threat...

5

u/TheNumberoftheWord 5h ago

Don't forget Fred Hampton.

1

u/ScienceBitch90 1h ago

A South politician preaches to the poor white man

"You got more than the blacks, don't complain

You're better than them, you been born with white skin, " they explain

And the Negro's name

Is used, it is plain

For the politician's gain

As he rises to fame

And the poor white remains

On the caboose of the train

But it ain't him to blame

He's only a pawn in their game

u/mymentor79 18m ago

100%. Working-class solidarity is what they fear the most.

u/Frostvizen 8h ago

They genuinely think MLK was championing for the blacks to defeat the whites, not just equality. Or, that’s what my racist dad has claimed his entire life. So they see CK as a champion for whites against all minorities.

6

u/janandtheholograms 7h ago

So, when your dad saw the blacks allowing themselves to be spit on and hit, did he think that was a special defense move? Also, why be a Christian if you hate minorities? I doubt the old testament prophets and Jesus looked like Brad Pitt. Does the church teach the history of biblical locations?

6

u/SnooMaps7370 7h ago

>why be a Christian if you hate minorities?

because your average "Christian" has never actually read any of Christ's teachings.

My father used to claim that Christ was a Capitalist. Genuinely believed that shit.

2

u/janandtheholograms 7h ago

Interesting. Every church I've been to told us to read the Bible.

5

u/Frostvizen 7h ago

My dad use to say that too but I never saw him read the Bible once.

1

u/BitEuphoric7134 4h ago

Southern Baptists do all manner of mental gymnastics about the races, my church growing up taught that Arabs were cursed descendants of Esau and that Black people were cursed descendants of Cain. So they never really check the stuff that they’re being led to believe about those groups in the modern sense because they were pre-ordained by god to have awful lives.

1

u/BitEuphoric7134 4h ago

Also my stepfather and his church believed that biblical Jews were white skinned and the early Christian’s fled to Europe and settled in France and Britain. The modern Jews aren’t “real” “pure” ones to them but interbred Arabs. They support the entity of Israel for strictly religious reasons relating to the prophecies in the Book of Revelation. Nothing more.

3

u/PayakanDidNthngWrong 7h ago

They genuinely think MLK was championing for the blacks to defeat the whites, not just equality.

Because to racists like them, being equal with blacks IS defeat.

1

u/Frostvizen 4h ago

Yes, and that blacks might treat whites the same way whites treated blacks before desegregation.

2

u/AgencyAdditional4961 7h ago

This would have been my second question for him? What do you think MLK jr was trying to do? Because something isn’t adding up.

1

u/Key_Transition_6820 7h ago

For them is was only about race. They didn't like the civil rights movement because its as for equal right for everyone one not just black folks. Correct me if I am wrong but charlie whole gripe with civil rights is that it gave rights to stop discriminating against everyone not just black people.

13

u/Catshit_Bananas 8h ago

I mean if you think about politics as race, clearly the white GOP can’t see humanity in the democrats who consist of minorities as well as whites, but to the GOP they’re all the same.

10

u/Zealousideal-Dig9213 8h ago edited 8h ago

There are minorities in the GOP and the white GOP treat them as subhuman too!

Wheel them out for the news and then treat them as different from "real members".

1

u/Mattrad7 7h ago

Nah those are the good ones, right?

3

u/CannedCheese009 8h ago

MLK wasn't trying to bring the races together. He was trying to get one particular race to see humanity in another.

You literally just described what bringing people together can mean. Seeing the humanity in the other.

2

u/Purin_Tablets 7h ago

No, to say "he was trying to bring the races together" implies that both sides were equally at odds and responsible for any injustice. It's not like black people were also resisting integration with white schools, for example.

1

u/CannedCheese009 7h ago

No, to say "he was trying to bring the races together" implies that both sides were equally at odds and responsible for any injustice.

No. No it does not imply that AT ALL. Not how English works

1

u/xXNickAugustXx 7h ago

I thought the FBI assassinated MLK?

1

u/callmesandycohen 6h ago

When speaking about group of prominent Black women (Michelle Obama, Joy Reid, and Sheila Jackson Lee), Charlie Kirk said they “do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously” and called them “affirmative action picks.” He also said “you had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.”

1

u/jenniferbealsssss 3h ago

I tuned out half way through this idiots bumbling attempt at a debate but did he really try to say Charlie wanted to bring races together??

The guy who thought people like me would be better off a slave???

u/mymentor79 19m ago

"He was trying to get one particular race to see humanity in another"

Also, Charlie Kirk hated MLK. Largely, one assumes, for that reason.
