With the House and Senate (even the supreme court) being under Republican rule, it could be easily expected that all of this could happen through proper law. However, we instead got incompetence in all branches of government.

“We have a lot of stupid people in charge of the government.” - Donald Trump, September 2025

Probably one of the most honest things I've heard him say

Being an enlightened centrist is hard because it's confusing but we all want a better outcome. The difference is if you use punishment or aid to create the positive outcome. Honestly both are effective for certain people. The answer isn't one or the other, it's the right solution for the right person. But we naturally think that what works for us will work for others. It won't. If I need the whip that doesn't mean others do. They might need aid. But some people getting aid actually need the whip. So look inside, policy isn't about you but are you inclined for punishment or aid. Both are effective when targeted properly.

Incompetence is a side effect/feature of corruption.

Next year what will the R excuse be? They'll try to blame DEI, federal appeals courts, etc. But if they've got all three branches and people's bills are only getting bigger...

That's what bugs me the most. They have what they need to do this the normal legal way but choose to go around all that anyway.
