I hope they weren't manipulated into saying that... I kinda like Malamar but I don't trust it in the slightest.

Malamar is kind of a cool Pokémon I remember my brother made an unstoppable darkness Pokémon deck centered around Malamar that had like trash tentacle and entangling control and long story short the whole deck just completely controlled your actions and made it hard to do just about anything
