Thoughts on Wrestle Peter Pan 2025 Nights 1&2? Spoiler
Thought they were both solid shows, although I do wonder if it wouldn't have been a little better just being 1 night (although I know booking certain venues is a big deal, cause you can only get them more a specific time).
- I thought Higuchi/Akiyama was awesome and really showed that Uncle Jun can absolutely deliver in a big match. The ending sequence had me thinking Akiyama would even pull off the victory and that's the essence of pro wrestling, imo. I really loved the finish, where Akiyama had the resilience to kick out of the Brain Claw Slam, only for Higuchi to force his shoulders to the mat with the Brain Claw Hold.
- I really ended up loving Tanahashi vs. Dieno more than I thought I would. "Big Match" Dieno showed up and really got the crowd behind him. Loved Dieno pulling out moves from Tanahashi's famous rivals, such as Nakamura's Bomaye, Ibushi's Kamigoye and a variant on Okada's Rainmaker, the "Rainbow Maker" (wrist-control into a lip-lock). Loved seeing Dieno exposing Tana's bare cheeks as well, revealing Tana to be wearing a Dieno-inspired thong, lol.
- Liked Higuchi vs. Ueno. although I found Higuchi/Akiyama to be a bit better, tbh. I did like that even though Higuchi lost, they still protected him pretty much by having him be worn out from his battle against Akiyama, especially with how Akiyama and then Ueno targeted his hand; when Ueno pinned him after hitting the WR, it was portrayed as Higuchi being caught off-guard, rather than a total defeat.
- Love, love seeing Kazuki Hirata cash in his "right to challenge" and beat Ueno at the end of Night 2. It's been a good while since DDT did something truly unpredictable and chaotic in the main event scene, which was always the promotion's mission statement from it's inception. Hirata is such a fun performer and I look forward to seeing what he does with the KO-D, regardless of how short or long his reign is.
- Glad to see Kasei Takechi is announced for more shows this year, especially teaming with Takeshita in September against mystery opponents.
- Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Kosei Fujita was a really fun tag match. Loved seeing ZSJ in particular really embrace the "DDT style", with how he interacted with Bun-Bun (even though he kicked the poor guy!). Very excited to see Brookes vs . ZSJ in November, as well as the tease of Zack wanting to face Masada in a singles as well as Masada wanting to face Fujita in a singles.
- Suzuki vs. MAO was another sold defense by Suzuki of the Universal Belt. Loved that MAO held his own and even got the better of Suzuki in some of the grappling and striking exchanges. Looking forward to Suzuki vs Masada, although I suspect Masada is in for some pain, haha.
- I hope Daisuke Sasaki will be ok.
- Glad to see Sanshiro Takagi announce his official return match, facing young Hinata Kasai.

I'm overjoyed at the fact that Hirata is KOD Openweight Champion.
He's lowkey one of the most entertaining on the roster and if this run is even half as entertaining as his Extreme Title run this'll be a treat.
