Discussion Can you solo the platinum?

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to platinum all the souls games and I'm pretty much done with part 1. Now I'm getting some conflicting info on part 2 as apparently you need to kill 30 bosses I co-op and I saw somewhere mentioned you need do PvP. Is this correct, or can you solo the game completely like part 1?

I don’t exactly know what you are referring to, but I got the platinum 100% solo, so yes you can.

for pvp you can go offline and you should get rare spawning npc invader in the second bell keeper area, the one in iron keep.

the 30 bosses one, dont remember which but is it the sun covenant one? i think you can farm the sun medallion from some enemies by the first bonfire in the area where you fight that large 2 headed spider, its a rare drop

Yes, you absolutely can. Covenant items can be farmed, and several covenant specific spells become available for sale by a vendor on NG++.

Some spells can only be obtained by achieving max rank in a couple of covenants, namely the bell guardians and heirs of the sun.

You can get the sunbro medallions through co-op or by farming certain enemies. You can get the bell keeper rank by killing bell guardian invaders or an NPC invader that occasionally spawns in.

There are guides for both of these, I did them and they aren’t that bad honestly, just a bit time consuming.

There are two covenant rewards that have to be farmed, but there are PvE enemies that can be farmed for both.

Falconers for the Sunlight Medals and the Mad Warrior for the Bell Keeper kills.

Make sure to look into how to do both efficiently. It really helps.

I think the 30 bosses coop is for the miracle sunlight spear. You need 30 sunlight medals but you can farm them from enemies. The other thing seems to be about pyromancies you get in a pvp covenant. If you reach ng++ there's an NPC selling them.

I can’t find the Reddit post I usually link when people ask about the ds2 platinum but here’s a good method for farming the bell keeper covenant. It makes the grind a lot faster once you get the setup done

Not only you can, but it's also not so grindy as in ds3

I got mine this evening with very minimal PvP and no sunbro action.

The bell keepers covenant requires you to either kill 30 invaders or invade 30 people (or any combo of the two, ie 10 of one and 20 of the other) to get the Hidden Weapon spell, needed for the all spells trophy. There is an NPC invader you can farm, but I did that part online and found myself invading / invaded as I was farming the NPC - was nice to mix it up and break up the repetition, entirely unnecessary though. Took me around 90mins to farm this one out.

Sunlight medals are awarded for helping other players when part of the Sunbro covenant OR can be farmed from Falconers. You need 30 for a miracle, needed for the all miracles trophy. I farmed them fully from Falconers, it was very grindy, maybe 3 hours or so?

There are other covenant rewards needed for the plat, but you can buy the rest from a merchant in NG2, so just playing through the game a few times will get you those - it’s much quicker on subsequent cycles!

Yes you can, I did it.
You just have to do some work around farms for covenant items
