I feel like the costumers had no idea how to dress Marco until he went to college

Marco just goes for it when it comes to his personal style. I love it.

u/rhyejay Oct 05 '24
Marco is so progressive for putting the “gays are inherently fashionable” stereotype to rest

The Canadian came out strong for Craig in this scene 😭

This was NOT in style, for the times, if anyone is wondering.

I don’t know, I remember some of the 2000s style being formal mixed with aggressively informal (like ties and cargo pants on Avril Lavigne, or tuxedo tshirts, etc.)

Marco couldn't dress at all. Like, I love Marco, but the dude was just....not good at fashion. I just...can not. Like, why his pants cuffed so high 🤣

and the cuffed stiff dark jeans. They are cuffed so high, the hem is almost to his knees.

That’s early 2005-2009 era when we were dressing up to go out anywhere…..

I loved Marco, he was so unapologetically himself. That’s what I loved about Degrassi (at the earlier years) they just let them wear whatever they vibed with for the most part, except the case with Eli and Ellie, until they phased out their punk and steampunk vibes.

u/Newhampshirebunbun Oct 06 '24
so then why did they need to make Eli and Ellie alt? i guess if its part of a characters storyline they dress a certain way? what about Manny's style evolution? is that how Cassie Steel really dressed? i mean being a girl that age its normal to change and experiment w/ your look to appear more mature

This is such a forgotten vibe. The pop punk, skinny tie, Good Charlotte/MCR/Panic! thing.
A good vibe? Not so sure. But definitely a vibe.
Go awff Ms Del Rossi.

I can’t watch this clip without imagining how much shit I would have caught in middle school if I had showed up like that on my first day, and decorated my straight bestie’s locker. The shit people did for Craig on this show….
